Steve Kimock and Friends feat. Bobby Vega with Kyle Hollingsworth, Wally Ingram

Seminal guitarist Steve Kimock returns to San Francisco this summer with his elevated guitar explorations for a much anticipated show with Steve Kimock & Friends on Thursday, July 14th, featuring Bay Area veteran Bobby Vega (Zero, KVHW, Sly & the Family Stone) with Kyle Hollingsworth (String Cheese Incident) & Wally Ingram (Stockholm Syndrome, David Lindley) and special guests.

For nearly four decades Steve Kimock has earned a reputation as a guitarist with an enlightened approach to melodic improvisation, mesmerizing audiences from around the globe with his tasteful guitar speak and brilliant tone.  In a world of ‘dumbing down,’ Kimock has carved a path in the opposite direction by expanding the envelope with his signature sounds, opening minds and deepening consciousness for the better of the planet.  Kimock’s variegated brand of guitar, alternately subdued and vibrant, defies easy categorization. At times prog rock/jazz-inflected and at others gypsy-straightaway, Kimock’s rock-n-soul has been captivating audiences for more than thirty years.

Kyle Hollingsworth Unveils Hoopla Pale Ale

Beer comes in many flavors. So do musicians. Rare as a double lightning strike is when both meet in perfect harmony. But it’s happened: String Cheese Incident keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth is the musician, and Hoopla is his beer. And they’re coming to a festival near you this summer; it’s the “Brewru Experience.“

Kyle Hollingsworth Hosts Meet & Greet and Taps New Brew

Kyle Hollingsworth, keyboardist of The String Cheese Incident, is excited to announce a special "sneak preview" tapping of his first officially mass-produced beer, Hoopla - Festival Pale Ale. To celebrate, Kyle will host a meet & greet and “sneak preview” tapping at 1STBANK Center at 6:30pm on Thursday, March 10, opening night of The String Cheese Incident’s three-night Winter Carnival run. The meet & greet and extremely limited tapping will take place directly inside the North Entrance of 1STBANK Center just off to the right hand side. For exclusive updates all week and to stay tuned for more information on Hoopla this Spring, follow Kyle on Twitter at @KyleOnKeys.

30 years ago, Kyle Hollingsworth set out on a career in music. Since then, with a wealth of desire and incredible ability, Hollingsworth has established himself as a formidable and versatile music talent. Today, as a member of acclaimed jam masters The String Cheese Incident, Hollingsworth is revered by both peers and fans for his ability to write and perform in a mosaic of styles, from rock to classical, ragtime to bebop. Playing in SCI has allowed him unrestricted access to the world of music, and has bestowed on him the kind of fearlessness a composer needs to flirt with such disparate genres. Those who’ve seen SCI know the band can move from funk to bluegrass on a chord change. “In the jam world, where there are no set ways of doing things, we’re not afraid to move in and out of genres,” he says, “and because of that I’ve learned to be creative, not only on stage but in the studio. I can get on board with something pretty quickly. You have to.”

Hollingsworth’s 2009 release, titled Then There’s Now, finds the musician coming in to his own. With solid song material and a slamming new band, Kyle is making his mark in the new, always-evolving music scene. Then There’s Now delivers a blend of vocal and instrumental tunes and seamlessly displays his growth as a musician and as a songwriter.

Kyle Hollingsworth Unveils 2010 Fall Plans

Following The String Cheese Incident’s Hulaween shows at the famed Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA, keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth is right back at it one week later. Sunday, November 7th, Kyle joins television’s hit children’s show Yo Gabba Gabba, live at 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, CO, bringing his own brand new children’s tunes with him. The following week, Kyle Hollingsworth Band travels to the Midwest with St. Louis’ Messy Jiverson supporting all dates before heading to the East Coast to perform with Bonerama, Steve Kimock and Terrence Higgins (Dirty Dozen Brass Band) for three nights as a special guest.

To wrap up 2010, Kyle will host Hoppy Holidays, a unique brew tour experience and blowout run with Kyle Hollingsworth Band. DJ Logic and Liza Oxnard lend a hand to the party, jumping on board with KHB at both Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO, and Hodi’s Half Note in Fort Collins, CO. Once again, Kyle has teamed up with renowned local breweries to craft two signature beers – this time with Boulder Beer and Avery Brewing – that will be available at each show. Hoppy Holidays will culminate in an intimate finale charity evening at Avery Brewing in Boulder, CO to benefit Conscious Alliance - feeding people in need and providing toys to underprivileged children. Avery Brewing tickets are extremely limited and all-inclusive, featuring a Kyle Hollingsworth Band set, several Avery pints of beer, a collector’s custom pint glass, food provided by Cheba Hut, access to an exclusive silent auction, and a toy drive for Conscious Alliance Hoppy Holidays posters.

Tickets for all shows are currently on sale at www.kylehollingsworth.com and all venue outlets.

Kyle Hollingsworth Announces SCI Red Rocks Pre-Party

In anticipation of this summer’s sold-out String Cheese Incident run at Red Rocks July 23-25, Kyle Hollingsworth will host Kyle’s Brew Fest, a kick-off party at Denver’s Great Divide Brewery on Thursday, July 22, to benefit Conscious Alliance. In addition to being a prolific musician, Hollingsworth has long been a fan of microbrews and specialty beers; in fact he’s been brewing his own beer at home for years. For more than a decade, Hollingsworth has performed as keyboardist for Colorado’s String Cheese Incident, most recently in his own project Kyle Hollingsworth Band, and as a special guest in countless other projects.

Along his most recent KHB tour, Hollingsworth found the perfect way to blend his love of brewing with his love for music: Brew Tours. His band invited local breweries to participating venues for tastings, meet and greets, and more. He returns this summer with Kyle’s Brew Fest, presented by Kyle Hollingsworth, Great Divide Brewing, The Mountain Sun Brewery, and Deschutes Brewery where he has teamed up with several breweries to offer fans beer tastings, exclusive brews including Hoppingsworth IPA (created by Hollingsworth himself with The Mountain Sun Brewery) and much more.

A very limited number of tickets will be sold for this intimate affair and all proceeds will benefit not-for-profit Conscious Alliance, a group that organizes food drives at concerts and sporting events to collect food donations to benefit local food pantries and impoverished Indian reservations throughout the U.S.

Included in the ticket price is a limited edition Kyle’s Brew Fest logo pint glass, several drink tickets, one 2-oz taster per brewery (participating breweries include Great Divide Brewing, The Mountain Sun Brewery, Deschutes Brewery, Avery Brewing, Boulder Beer, Ska Brewing, Stone Brewing, Trinity Brewing, Upslope Brewing and others), delicious Mountain Sun grilled food, an opportunity to bid at the Silent Auction (which features rock memorabilia from the scene’s favorite artists) and an exclusive performance from Kyle Hollingsworth Band.

For Hollingsworth, who has recently been more prolific than ever before, the title of Then There's Now offers the first clue as to where he stands today. Then There's Now undeniably draws on Hollingsworth's past affiliation with "The Cheese," using his previous work as a jumping off point yes, there are some intoxicating, if more concise, jams to be savored. But the album's "now" component-irresistible melodies, poignant lyrics and fine-tuned song construction, plus a willingness to infuse the tunes with elements of pop, jazz, electronica, hip-hop and more transports Hollingsworth into musical realms he's never before explored at length.
