Ellie Goulding Announces North American Tour

UK singer and songwriter Ellie Goulding announced today that she will tour in support of her stateside debut, LIGHTS out March 8th on Cherrytree/Interscope Records. The tour will commence with performances at SXSW and wrap at Coachella in Indio, CA. Currently nominated for two 2011 BRIT Awards (for “British Female Solo Artist” and “British Breakthrough Act”), Goulding is gearing up for the Stateside release of Lights.
“I’m really excited to come to America and visit new places and see new countryside,” she says. “I feel ready to introduce my music and see what people think of it there. I’m hoping they’ll like it and be inspired, the way I was when I first heard certain artists. I want to create that excitement you get when you’ve discovered something special and feel happy to have ever come across it in the first place.”
Having already conquered her native Britain with the best selling debut album of 2010, Lights -- premiering at No. 1 on the U.K. album chart, four hit singles she co-wrote, and a BRIT award -- singer-songwriter Ellie Gouldin is ready to make a similar splash in America with her sparkling electro-folk-pop sound. This past December “Your Song” hit #2 on the charts and #1 on the iTunes Chart.
This past September, Ellie made her maiden voyage to the US in support of her EP, AN INTRODUCTION TO ELLIE GOULDING.  She performed in New York and Los Angeles to rave reviews. The New Yorker called Ellie “the future of music” and the Los Angeles Times raved, “She can reel off some powerful drum and guitar chops and her voice is a serious and sure instrument in person.”

ZERO Returns to the Great American Music Hall

For the first time in nearly 20 years, ZERO returns to the Great American Music Hall: March 4th and 5th. Almost two decades ago, the quintessential Bay Area band recorded 'Chance in a Million' at GAMH, their most successful album to date featuring songs penned by Grateful Dead lyricist, Robert Hunter. The band reunites to commemorate the music and to benefit band mate, Judge Murphy, who is battling liver cancer, awaiting transplant.

ZERO, a psychedelic rock ensemble formed by Steve Kimock and Greg Anton in 1984, is best known for its free flowing jazz-rock-electric sound. For the next two decades the project featured some of the best talent on the Bay Area circuit including legendary guitarist John Cipollina, Martin Fierro, Nicky Hopkins, Bobby Vega, Pete Sears, Judge Murphy, Liam Hanrahan, Chip Roland, and many more. ZERO released eight highly-acclaimed albums, hundreds of live recordings, and occasionally appear out of nowhere in select continental cities. The band's appearance at the Great American Music Hall will mark the first of its kind in two decades since the live recording of 'Chance in a Million'.

Two Fresh Announces 2011 'Air Mail' Tour

Having recently closed a blockbuster holiday tour, which culminated with a New Year’s Eve dance party in Dallas, TX that saw 5k+ attend in support of the rapidly growing duo, Two Fresh is excited to announce the Air Mail Tour – a tour that will see the group hit the road with exciting, top notch support acts in anticipation of their forthcoming, full length album Air Mail. A full date list appears below. Ticketing and more information for all shows is available here.

Two Fresh kicks off the Air Mail Tour in the familiar stomping grounds of the Southeast and heads deep into the South, before winding up the East coast with parties in Knoxville, Athens, Tuscaloosa, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Brooklyn. The tour will wrap with a Windy City rager in Chicago at the Bottom Lounge. Additional date announcements are expected from the trio, as the album release draws closer.

The tour will feature two of Brooklyn’s finest up and coming acts, Body Language and Mux Mool. Body Language’s original music was born from weekly dance party remixes crafted by Grant Wheeler and Matt Young, and are graced by the soul stylings of Ms. Angelica Bess. Mux Mool’s homespun electro hip-hop is the product of an introverted mind, an extroverted imagination, and a bottomless cultural appetite.

Having spent the last 18 months touring and working with different musicians and producers all over the country, Two Fresh is supporting the release of their forthcoming album, Air Mail, scheduled for release February 2011 on Elm & Oak Records/1320 Records. The ambitious and hungry group have planned 2 other releases for the later part of 2011. Having gained new, valuable perspective from recent tours and collaborations, Air Mail shows just how much the group has learned and evolved since their last release.

Two Fresh consists of an inseparable pair of twin producers, Sherwyn and Kendrick Nichols, who have been making beats and playing music together since they were fifteen years old. Now, about to be 22, the twins are armed with a forward-thinking perspective. As always, Two Fresh will tour with Colby Buckler on drums.

Bobby Long Announces 2011 North American Tour

ATO Records will release A Winter Tale, the highly anticipated debut record from British singer-songwriter Bobby Long, on February 1. Recorded in London, the eleven-song album was produced by Grammy-award winner Liam Watson (The White Stripes) and features backing vocals from Nona Hendryx (LaBelle) and Icelandic singer Lay Low as well as pedal steel by B.J. Cole (Elton John, Sting). In support of the record, Long will embark on a nationwide North American tour this January, including dates at the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW.

After relocating to London from Wiltshire in the countryside of Southwest England, Long became a fixture in the city’s burgeoning open-mic scene, where he met actor and fellow musician Robert Pattinson. Pattinson would go on to sing “Let Me Sign” (co-written by Long and friend Marcus Foster) over a crucial dramatic scene in the blockbuster film Twilight. Subsequently, in support of his bedroom-made recording Dirty Pond Songs, Long embarked on a worldwide tour in April 2009, performing over 160 shows in seven countries. Of the singer, the San Diego Entertainer heralds, “All his songs are like a well-orchestrated ballet of chord progressions and vocals that pluck at the deepest confined thoughts of your soul,” while  Pollstar praises, “Long’s emergence as an up-and-coming artist is the stuff Hollywood loves to make movies about. He continues to amaze audiences with a bare-bones sound reminiscent of early Bob Dylan.” Additionally, the New York Post named him one of their “10 Artists To Watch in 2011.” Watch an exclusive performance video of “Dead & Done” part of the recently launched Burberry Acoustic series.

Conspirator - Coast to Coast and Back Again

Conspirator, the duo of Disco Biscuits’ staples Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner which often features guest musicians in the live setting, has announced a national tour of “full band” performances featuring Chris Michetti and a rotating cast of first-class drummers. The news comes on the heels of a series of performances that have created quite a bit of buzz among band and fans, alike.

While Brownstein and Magner have occasionally invited other musicians to their live shows, the “new Conspirator” has proven to be a new, “full band” sound emerging not only from the group’s mentality, but by featuring a solidified, returning, 4-piece lineup.

Live music fans have come to embrace Conspirator for their signature high energy, electronic-based sets and their legendary album, The Key, which has been a staple of the band’s live repertoire for years. Now, with a firmly set 4-piece band, fans can expect performances featuring increased live improv and a refreshing musical flow, peppered with some surprises. Inspired by new collaborations and the combined musical histories of the performers, Conspirator is set to get the scene talking in 2011.

“The energy coming off of the December Conspirator shows with Michetti was very exciting for Aron and I, and the fans have responded really well,” said Brownstein. “We knew right away we had to take this across the country. There are really exciting places a full band, this full band, can take the classic Conspirator sound. It’s a whole new show each night.”

Known throughout the live music world for high energy, creative guitar shredding with his band RAQ, Chris Michetti became much more familiar to Disco Biscuits fans throughout 2010 when he periodically accompanied the band on stage at places like Red Rocks, Camp Bisco, and on a number of Spring Tour performances. Michetti recently lent his signature handiwork to Conspirator during performances earlier this December, and anyone who caught the early phases of the “new Conspirator” will undeniably be psyched for round two and beyond.
