The Avett Brothers Live from Red Rocks, This Saturday on iClips.net

The Avett Brothers’ sold-out show, taking place on July 9th from Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre, produced by AEG LIVE Rocky Mountains, will be available for live webstream on a pay-per-view basis at iClips.net. The full performance will also be delivered in real-time to the world's largest HDTV screen at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, bringing the Avett Brothers’ amazing local fan base the opportunity to view the historical show from Red Rocks.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway, home to the massive 80’ x 200’ Panasonic HDTV, will host Avett Brothers fans on the evening of July 9th, supplying concert-grade speakers to turn the infield area in front of the video board into a one-of-a-kind concert venue. Tickets for the July 9th simulcast are on sale now and can be purchased at the speedway ticket office or by calling 1-800-455-FANS (3267).

“The speedway has been a hometown landmark for us our whole lives and we're proud to have an opportunity for our music to echo through that historical infield,” said Seth Avett. “For us, performing at Red Rocks and airing live in Concord is about the most ideal situation for being in two amazing places at once.”

The Avetts’ popularity skyrocketed on the heels on their major label debut, the 2009 album “I and Love and You.” Recently, the band has become accustomed to performing sold out concerts and in February they performed at the 53rd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles alongside Bob Dylan. “We are so fortunate to travel and play the many places we do,” stated Scott Avett.

In addition to delivering the famed Avett Brothers, the online broadcast will also offer the full performance of the evening’s opening act, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. The performances for all the artists will be made available for fans to purchase at iclips.net.

Bright Eyes @ Boulder Theater | 08.09.11

97.3 KBCO & Westword is proud to present Bright Eyes at the Boulder Theater on Tuesday Aug 9th, 2011.  Tickets go on sale Friday, June 9th for $30 in advance and $35 day of show.

The People’s Key – the band’s seventh studio album – is the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2077’s acclaimed Cassadage.  Since 2006 the once revolving cast of Bright Eyes players has settled around permanent members Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott, with additional musicians joining them in the studio and on tour.  Fully realized and bursting with charisma, The People’s Key is an assured and accomplished album, artfully arranged and filled with the engaging and mesmeric songwriting for which Conor is renowned.

Bright Eyes’ success snowballed in early 2005 when the simultaneous release of the sister albums “I’m Wide Awake,” “It’s Morning and Digital Ash In A Digital Urn” saw the Nebraskans hurled into the limelight and the Billboard Charts.  To say that the band became a househole name would be an overstatement but for a few months they seemed ubiquitous; from magazine covers to late night talk shows, they were name-checked by everyone from sports casters to country stars.  Conor Oberst has spent much of the last few years recording and touring with friends and musicinas, The Mystic Valley Band, as well as releasing a highly acclaimed album and tour as part of the so called indie supergroup Monsters of Folk.

Recorded in Omaha, Nebraska, at the band’s own ARC Studios, The People’s Key was produced by Mike Mogis and engineered by Mogis and Andy LeMaster.  Additional Bright Eyes players on The Player’s Key:  Andy LeMaster (Now It’s Overhead), Matt Maginn (Cursive), Carla Azar (Autolux), Clark Baechle (The Faint), Shane Aspegren (The Berg Sans Nipple), Laura Burhenn (The Mynabirds) and Denny Brewer (Refried Ice Cream).

Lookout Farm 35th Anniversary at Birdland

The 1974 septet release entitled Lookout Farm distinguished saxophonist Dave Liebman as a rising bandleader and top-notch improviser. Along with Liebman, the collective featured Richie Beirach on piano, John Abercrombie on guitar, East Indian percussionists Badal Roy and Armen Halburian, drummer Jeff Williams, and upright bassist Frank Tusa. With this all-star lineup and the production values of ECM’s award-winning Manfred Eicher, Lookout Farm gained iconic status in modern jazz as it pushed the limits of how far a group could go artistically while still maintaining a definitive identity. For this special four-day run, Liebman reunites with original members Beirach and Williams, along with later member, bassist Ron McClure to mark the 35th anniversary of this one of a kind ensemble and recording..

Announcing The 9th Annual Taos Solar Music Festival

Todd Park Mohr- for the Grateful Web

Each year, through the universal language of music, the Taos Solar Music Festival celebrates sun and renewable energy, and continues to be the festival of choice for music fans around the country who share an environmental consciousness and zealousness about this community we call Earth.

Now in its ninth year, the Taos Solar Music Festival is quite likely one of the music industry's original Green events.  Hosting attendees from over 30 U.S. States and internationally reputed for blazing a trail in awareness for solar energy, the Taos Solar Music Festival honors the unparalleled contributive power of the sun with three days of eclectic music, interactive exhibits and activities, and much more.  Attracting over 5,000 people annually from all over the country, the festival's main stage is powered through the use of photovoltaic panels. As always, the Solar Village, located on Solar Fest grounds and free/open to the public, will feature booths and demonstrations designed to inform and expose alternative and renewable energy sources and solutions. Festival producer Dawn Richardson explains, "We're really proud of the Solar Village – and hope that it helps to inspire and nurture sustainable communities in the region and throughout the nation.  We think the Solar Village is what makes this festival stand out from so many others around the country." This year, the Solar Musical Festival's Solar Village will be one of only a handful of places to find Toyota's Mobile Hybrid Experience, which will be on site showcasing their Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive vehicles. Stay tuned at www.solarmusicfest.com for additional details on Solar Village specifics.

The festival's complete musical lineup will be revealed in the coming weeks.  For now, let it be known that Big Head Todd and the Monsters will kick off the weekend on Friday, June 29. Front man Todd Park Mohr, a long-time renewable energy advocate himself, says, "We always look forward to playing Solar Fest in Taos.  It is a beautiful setting with a great lineup of artists alongside a much needed plug for solar energy and environmental awareness.  It is always a raucous celebration!"  Also on the bill, Michael Franti & Spearhead and John Butler Trio. Additional artists TBA.

A premier vacation spot for the entire Four Corners region and beyond, Taos can be accessed through some of the most scenic and majestic highways and byways of America. A fun road trip and weekend getaway for family and friends, the festival is just a four to five hour drive from the Denver area, just over two hours from Albuquerque, or a day's jaunt from northern Texas.
