The Crystal Method EP 'Sine Language'/Tour Dates

America’s top electronic act THE CRYSTAL METHOD has announced the release of their latest project: the SINE LANGUAGE EP out November 16 via the duo’s own imprint Tiny E Records.  The duo—Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland—will also make a few DJ appearances this month including the Hollywood club night Control at Avalon in Los Angeles on Friday, November 19.

“Sine Language” is the third single off of THE CRYSTAL METHOD’s Grammy-nominated album Divided By Night (2009). This time out, the platinum-selling act is joined by LMFAO, another rowdy twosome. LMFAO’s party-starting raps are accompanied by a single edit and seven brand new remixes, including reworked versions by Richard Vission, Future Funk Squad, Moonbeam, Datsik, Metasyn, Omega and Von Ukuf.

LMFAO burst on to the scene with the ubiquitous party anthem of summer 2009, “I’m in Miami Bitch.” That successful single was followed by two others that also cracked the Billboard 100 and a debut album that quickly cemented the duo’s fun-loving reputation. Collaborations with David Guetta, Fergie, Chuckie, and Lil Jon--plus remixes for Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Katy Perry, among others-- have served to keep LMFAO in the spotlight.

Grammy-nominated producer Richard Vission possesses more Billboard #1 dance hits than even he can keep track of. Currently riding high with the worldwide smash hit “I Like That,” he’s cracking the U.S. Top 40 and going double platinum in Australia. All in a day’s work for the man who counts performing onstage alongside Madonna as just one of his many career highlights.  Here he turns in yet another future classic club banger with his re-working of “Sine Language.”

Other highlights on the EP include Datsik’s remix.  A producer who has been taking the dubstep scene by storm, Datsik is blowing up dance floors around the globe with his original style of hip-hop future-tech bangers. In 2009 alone, Datsik had over seven number one releases on Beatport.  Other remix credits to his name include works for the Freestylers, Bassnectar, Noisia, Diplo, the Wu-tang Clan and Apex from the critically acclaimed Lifted Music label.  THE CRYSTAL METHOD fans will also get a taste of production from Metasyn, DJ Rap’s new drum n’ bass project.

The Crystal Method’s Divided By Night world tour has seen them command stages at festivals from Coachella and Bonnaroo to Ultra Music and Voodoo Experience. They’ve played to wildly dancing crowds from Austin and Kansas City to further flung locales like Grand Canary Islands and Dubai. In support of “Sine Language,” other confirmed DJ gigs for the remainder of 2010 include clubs in Reno, Missoula, Halifax, Jackson, Detroit and NYC.

Tracklisting for SINE LANGUAGE EP:

1.      Sine Language (Single Edit)

2.      Sine Language (Richard Vission Solmatic Remix)

3.      Sine Language (Future Funk Squad Remix)

4.      Sine Language (Moonbeam Remix)

5.      Sine Language (Datsik Remix)

Disco Biscuits @ Boulder Theater | 1/13 & 1/14/2011

The Disco Biscuits are an entirely different band today than they were when they first broke out of Philadelphia in the mid-90s. That’s not to say that they’ve abandoned their foundation, switched gears or set sail for distant shores. The Disco Biscuits are still very much the pioneers of “trance- fusion,” bridging the gap between electronic music and jam bands. They still remain rock pioneers whose soul belongs as much to marathon dance parties as it does to live improvisational journeys. They still employ emerging technologies to help them create music that is 100 percent human although, perhaps, not entirely of this earth.

For more than a decade now, Biscuits fans have followed the band from show to show, religiously if not obsessively, because they know that every performance is a once-in-a-lifetime event. The band tirelessly explores every possibility with their songs by performing them in entirely different ways every single time. They’ve even been known to “invert” various composed sections, turning a tune on its head to see what might fall out of its pockets.

Dont miss these two intimate shows at the Boulder Theater which will be sure to sell out quickly.

John McLaughlin @ The Boulder Theater

Available through Abstract Logix in USA on April 20, 2010, To The One is the result of a burst of inspiration that struck the legendary English guitarist and composer in summer of 2009. "This music started to come to me," McLaughlin explains, "without any call from my part. The sound and feel of this new music took me back to 1965, to when I first heard A Love Supreme. I was 23 years old at that time, and struggling with questions of existence that we all confront sooner or later. Some of us discard them or don't bother to delve deeper, but that's not my nature. I was asking big questions: What is the meaning of life? What is this word "god"? What is this spirit? It was then that Coltrane came along and single-handedly brought this dimension of spirituality into jazz"it was a pivotal experience to me. It was so encouraging to me in both my musical and spiritual quests. To The One, as an album, is about those two aspects of my life - music and spirituality - crystallized by this recording of Coltrane's, and how A Love Supreme coincided with my search for meaning in life.

Check out John McLaughlin and the 4th Dimension at the Boulder Theater on December 4th, 2010.

Pepper New 3D Video for "Drunk Girl" Single

This week, Hawaii's reggae-punk heroes Pepper, are celebrating the release of their new, self-produced, Stitches EP out everywhere through the band's own LAW Records imprint. Mastered at Bernie Grundman Mastering by Brian "Big Bass Brian" Gardner (Blink 182, Foo Fighters, Jane's Addiction) and recorded at Total Access Studios in Los Angeles (Sublime, No Doubt, Pennywise), Stitches features two new tracks, "Wake Up" and "Drunk Girl," currently seeing heavy rotation around the country at stations such as San Diego's 91X (XTRA), San Francisco's Live 105 (KITS) and West Palm Beach's The Buzz 103 (WPBZ). Stitches also features the new track "Lonely" written and originally performed by friend Mishka Frith (support Boulder-Portland).

Always at the forefront of technology (see also the band's recent Q&A with fans via social network / online broadcast site UStream), Pepper have just completed the production of a hi-tech, one-of-a-kind new video for the EP's single, "Drunk Girl," filmed live on location at The Grove in Anaheim (also the band's recent tour kick-off event) set to premiere worldwide in the coming weeks (fans can get their hands on 3D glasses through the band's website - more details on the premiere of the 3D "Drunk Girl" video coming soon! In addition, and in support of what is arguably their best material to date, Pepper is currently on the road headlining a massive two month series of dates where they'll be joined along the way by friends and guests such as Pour Habit, Brother Ali, Fishbone, and more.

About Pepper:

PEPPER, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Kaleo Wassman, bassist/vocalist Bret Bollinger and drummer Yesod Williams, formed in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1997. Having grown up surfing on the island, it’s not a wonder that they would mix their rock “shock and ah” flare, along with their mellow island rhythm roots to create their own truly diverse sound. They have also been known to hypnotize fans of all walks of life with their incredibly sweet harmonies all the while keeping bodies moving on the dance floor. The trio played mostly house parties and garages before finally shipping out to San Diego, CA in 1999 to push their first studio release Give’n It.

In 2001, they entered the Volcom warehouse studio with Steve Kravac (Blink 182, Less Than Jake, MxPx) to record Kona Town, which included the hit single “Give it Up (Dirty Hot Sex)” - which has become one of KROQ’s most played songs to date. On the heels of that success, PEPPER retreated into The Hive, a completely analog studio and home of 311, with legendary producer Ron “The Saint” St. Germain (Bad Brains, Living Colour, 311, Tool, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden) to record In With the Old. When the dust settled from the flurry of large-scale tours, the band recorded the expansive No Shame (originally released by Warner Bros.), which featured a slew of exciting producers including 311’s Nick Hexum, No Doubt’s bassist Tony Kanal and current partner in crime Paul Leary of the Butthole Surfers.

PEPPER has sold over half a million records independently and founded their own record label, LAW Records - through which three other artists’ music is distributed: IRATION, Passafire, and The Supervillians. Their music has appeared in many movies (including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Good Luck Chuck), television shows and video game soundtracks as well as having had a number of album tracks appear on Billboard’s “Alternative Songs” chart (including No Shame’s “No Control,” which peaked at 18, and “Give It Up” which peaked at 34). Their song “Your Face,” also from No Shame, is now available for Guitar Hero World Tour.

The band has also amassed a large and loyal following stemming from their non-stop touring which includes numerous rounds on the Vans Warped Tour and outings with reggae legends The Wailers, 311 and Snoop Dogg, to name a few. PEPPER has performed at several festivals including Lollapolooza, Mile High Festival, West Beach Music Festival, as well as many others. In 2008, PEPPER made the rounds through Europe twice alongside Flogging Molly in the spring and Less Than Jake in the fall. They spent their summer of that year celebrating the July release of PINK CRUSTACEANS AND GOOD VIBRATIONS, which peaked at number 11 on Billboard’s “Independent Albums” chart, by hitting up US amphitheatres with longtime friends Slightly Stoopid, and headlined the very first “Here Comes the LAW Tour” - which featured other Law Records artists, The Supervillains and Passafire. The madness continued through the spring of 2009 when PEPPER ventured out for the second time co-headlining the Jagermeister Music Tour with punk rock legends, Pennywise. In the Fall, PEPPER took the party to the streets of Los Angeles playing the second annual Sunset Strip Music Festival with rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

After spending the early months of 2010 writing and recording new music, PEPPER spent their summer on the annual Unity Tour with long time friends 311, and The Offspring. They played twenty-five big dates including several amphitheaters and arenas. Between Unity Tour, new music, a single, “Wake Up” accompanied by a B side, ”Mirror,” which were released this past July, and plans for a 45+ major market national headlining tour this fall in support of the forthcoming release of their Sitches EP due out Oct 12, 2010, PEPPER fans are sure to get the fix they’ve been craving since 2009!

Yoko Ono To Release "Wouldnit (I'm A Star)" The Remixes

Just in time for the balmy, dog days of summer, YOKO ONO delivers another sweltering dancefloor juggernaut with the release of “WOULDNIT” (I’M A STAR). The explosive single finds the avant-garde pioneer, once again, holding sway with discerning DJs, clubbers and tastemakers worldwide who’ve propelled her to the top of Billboard’s club charts nestled comfortably alongside mainstream and electronic pop heavyweights like LADY GAGA, KATY PERRY, RIHANNA, KYLIE MINOGUE, SCISSOR SISTERS, KE$HA, TAIO CRUZ and GOLDFRAPP.

“WOULDNIT” (I’M A STAR) is the latest release from ONO’s acclaimed remix series, which has paired the iconoclast with an impressive cast of innovative collaborators (FLAMING LIPS, ANTONY AND THE JOHNSONS, PET SHOP BOYS, BASEMENT JAXX, SPARKS, PEACHES, CSS, and Oscar winning composer CRAIG ARMSTRONG) and spawned 6 #1 dance singles to date including “GIVE ME SOMETHING”, “I’M NOT GETTING ENOUGH”, “GIVE PEACE A CHANCE”, “NO NO NO”, “EVERYMAN / EVERYWOMAN” and the seminal “WALKING ON THIN ICE”.

“WOULDNIT” (I’M A STAR) has been blazing up the BILLBOARD HOT DANCE CLUB PLAY CHART since its debut five weeks ago entering at #32* with a bullet (Issue Date: 08/07/2010). It quickly ascended to the #24 power pick (Issue Date: 08/14/2010), and is currently in the Top Ten at #8* with a bullet (Issue Date: 09/04/2010)!

Originally appearing in 2 different settings, one on YOKO’s LP BLUEPRINT FOR A SUNRISE and the other on her IMA collaboration RISING, the bluesy reflection has been retooled into a surging motivational anthem for anyone with the courage and conviction to re-make themselves, follow their dreams and aspire to greatness regardless of obstacles.

It’s classic ONO: unfettered and defiant.

Featuring potent, modern reinventions from established dance music stalwarts DAVE AUDE, RICHARD MOREL, RALPHI ROSARIO and leftfield, New York techno / house producer ROB RIVES (aka FLOPPY SOUNDS / PHANTOM POWER), along with newcomers DJ YIANNIS, DENNY TSETTOS, EMJAE (aka MATTHEW JOHNSON of Boston-based duo, NIGHTRIDERS), M-DEEP and TIMMY LOOP, the single is a tour-de-force and easily one of ONO’s most immediate remix offerings to date.

It’s unbelievable that at 77 years young, the alt-rock matriarch is as inventive and prolific as ever.  Nearly 5 decades since first bursting onto the unsuspecting art and music worlds with her forward-thinking works, Yoko continues to evolve and thrive – both inside and outside the margins – still dreaming, pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo with her own unique and uncompromising artistic vision.

It’s been quite a storied journey with many more exciting moves to unfold.

“WOULDNIT (I’M A STAR)” will be released later this month as a digital green release (no materials used or abused) on MIND TRAIN / TWISTED Records.

The Sword Reveal Album Art, Plan Video Trilogy, and Open for Ozzy

Austin, TX’s metal luminaries The Sword are kicking it into high gear as the release of their highly anticipated third full-length Warp Riders (August 24th; Kemado Records) rapidly approaches.  The band has finally revealed the album’s artwork and will be releasing additional visual companions in the form of an upcoming picture disc and an epic video trilogy.

With a narrative arc that the band describes as “a psychedelic space opera that explores the temporal themes of death and rebirth,” it’s only fitting that the record’s cover art is equally mind melting.  Paying homage to authors that inspired the album’s lyrics, artist Dan McPharlin created an image in the tradition of classic science fiction book covers.  The Sword will also release a limited edition hexagon-shaped picture disc 12 inch single for “(The Night Sky Cried) Tears of Fire.”

Fans that are eagerly awaiting to hear the new material will have their thirst quenched on July 6th, when first single “Tres Brujas” will be let loose online.  The track is also the first part of a video trilogy helmed by former Sword collaborators Artificial Army, which will launch in August.  The second and third chapters of the saga will be for “Lawless Lands” and “Night City.”

The guys will also have the honor of being the sole opener for Ozzy Osbourne at the iTunes Roundhouse Festival in London on July 3rd.  Their set will be recorded and available on iTunes in early July.

UK's Everything Everything On UK Tour Now / Look Out For US Fall Tour

Imagine a band who fuse three part harmonies with scalding post-punk guitars; floor-filling bass lines with syncopated rhythms and lyrics about everything from high-school massacres to R&B lotharios musing on their lot in a post-apocalyptic wilderness.

Not easy, is it? But then Everything Everything aren’t here to make life easy. They’re here to challenge every knee-jerk convention of indie rock and dance on the grave of pointless retrogression.

Chances are you’ve come across EE before. Chances are they perplexed, intrigued and if you’ve an ear for something special, they excited you. They first accosted our senses with ‘Suffragette Suffragette’ in Dec 08, followed by ‘Photoshop Handsome’ in May and third single ‘MY KZ, UR BF’ in Oct 09.

Having whipped up interest in all quarters via these low key releases (they’ve acquired fans ranging from Zane Lowe to 6Music’s Marc Riley, played two UK tours- including an advance sold out ICA show as an unsigned band, notched up a top spot on MTV2’s My Space Chart and been tipped by the likes of NME and Times Culture), they signed to Geffen Records in late 2009.

Schoolin is the first single to be taken from their recently completed, David Kosten co-produced debut album (title tbc) due for release in August. It seems set to be the breakthrough debut album of 2010.

After a hugely successful NME tour and supports slots with Delphic, the band are now poised for their biggest festival season yet, showcasing their amazing live set throughout Europe and Japan. EE are so far confirmed to play Reading & Leeds, Glastonbury, Latitude (headlining the Lake Stage) and Bestival.

15th Annual Gathering of the Vibes Festival adds Weir and Lesh as Furthur to lineup!

Gathering of the Vibes, the largest and most-respected Music, Arts and Camping Festival in the Northeast, is thrilled to return to Seaside Park, on the shores of Long Island Sound in Bridgeport, CT, July 29 through August 1. This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of “The Vibes” and the fifth time it will be hosted in the Park City.  In 2009, the festival was attended by 20,000 revelers per day at the 370-acre waterfront venue.  The Vibes is an all-ages, family-friendly event that caters to both weekend campers and single-day guests; both have access to the park's shaded groves, manicured fields and more than a mile of Long Island Sound beachfront.

The final addition to the jam-packed lineup of artists includes Friday’s 2-set, headlining performance by FURTHUR, featuring the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. Gathering of the Vibes executive producer Ken Hays is delighted by the pairing.  “Phil and Bob have graced our stage with their own bands for many years, but to have them both perform together with this powerful and inspirational band is a dream come true.”  The band's ensemble includes Jeff Chimenti on keys, John Kadlecik on lead guitar and Joe Russo on drums.

Gathering of the Vibes 2010 spotlights more than forty bands on three stages and features a reunited Les Claypool and Primus; reggae legend and 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inductee Jimmy Cliff; Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann’s Rhythm Devils with Keller Williams; reggae sensation Damian Marley with special guest hip-hop icon Nas, pedal steel guitar master Robert Randolph & The Family Band; New Orleans funk superstars Galactic; Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings; and The Radiators.

Additional main stage and "late night" stage performers include Steve Kimock’s Crazy Engine; Umphrey’s McGee; Beastie Boys’ DJ “Mix Master Mike; Jackie Greene Band; Little Feat; Martin Sexton featuring The Ryan Montbleau Band; New Riders of the Purple Sage; Donna Jean Godchaux; Dark Star Orchestra; Zach Deputy; Big Sam’s Funky Nation; and Connecticut's own Max Creek and Deep Banana Blackout.

The Green Vibes stage offers an eclectic lineup of up-and-comers, as well as festival mainstays, in a more personal and intimate atmosphere.  Artists include David Gans; King For A Day; Lubriphonic; Turbine; Kung Fu; Caravan of Thieves; Quinn Sullivan; McLovins; Waylon Speed; Macpodz; Hot Day at the Zoo; Kicking Daisies; Jamie McLean Band; Leroy Justice; The Trapps; Billy Simons; Bronze Radio Return; Band Together; Christopher Robin Band; and Andy The Music Man.  All weekend long The Primate Fiasco will be wandering the festival site serenading the attendees.

Since its inception, Gathering of the Vibes and its fans have made “giving back” a priority through their support of numerous social causes. In 2008 and 2009 combined, festival organizers have donated more than $125,000 to local Bridgeport charities, the Connecticut Special Olympics and many worthy not-for-profit organizations. In 2009, festival attendees donated 5,500 pounds of non-perishable items to local and state food banks. The festival’s bold “Green Vibes” environmental initiative ranges from an aggressive on-site recycling campaign to educating fans on the current research and development being done, and the progress being made in the field of alternative energy solutions.

Gathering of the Vibes began in 1996 as a celebration of the life of Jerry Garcia, who had passed away the previous summer.  Initially named “Deadhead Heaven”, the festival provides an annual forum for fans from across the country to remember the countercultural icon.  In each of its past fourteen years, Gathering of the Vibes has paired legendary artists with emerging acts to appeal to a wide cross-section of live-music enthusiasts.
