Conspirator releases new track, announces fall tour dates

Conspirator, the live electronic brainchild of Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner of The Disco Biscuits and their new partner Chris Michetti, is set to hit the road again this fall. Armed with an arsenal of slamming new electro songs, the trio will welcome superstar drummer KJ Sawka (PENDULUM) to the tour for the first six shows before passing the baton to Conspirator regular Mike Greenfield of Lotus.

Conspirator has been hard at work in the studio, working on a slew of new tracks inspired by the current styles of popular electronic music, embracing the sounds popularized over the last few years. “Feed the Wolf,” the first installment from a batch of new original tracks, is out this week on SoundCloud with new singles to be released bi-monthly through the fall. At 128 BPM, it combines elements of Electro and Dutch House, but still retains an original edge that is always present in Conspirator's music.

LISTEN TO FEED THE WOLF HERE

As well, they have been cutting their teeth in the remix game, currently working on official remixes of 12th Planet, Porter Robinson, Zed's Dead, Vaski, and TimBerg/Avicii with many more to come. The release of these remixes is expected to begin this fall, concurrently with the release of the original material.

Marc and Aron are currently among the headliners of the IDentity Festival, performing with The Disco Biscuits. The experience has them touring the nation with hot electronic artists such as Rusko, Kaskade, Pretty Lights, and Steve Aoki. Once the 18-show amphitheater tour concludes at the Gorge in early September, they will immediately start preparing for the 3 week Conspirator Fall tour, which brings them from the Mid-West, through their native Northeast and finally down South to Langerado Music Festival in Sunrise, FL before closing the tour with a stop in Charleston, SC. This will, ironically, bring Conspirator back to where they started festival season, having played the sold out Ultra Music Festival in Miami last March. It has been an exciting year for Conspirator, having made stops at such illustrious electronic music festivals such as UMF, Nocturnal (Texas), Electric Forest, and Camp Bisco 10, which was hosted by the Disco Biscuits and reached a sold out, capacity crowd of 25,000 people.

Keep your eye out for Conspirator as they bring their newest sounds into your town this fall!

EOTO w/ Slim Thug @ Boulder Theater | 8/22

As electronic influences continue to penetrate the live rock, jazz, and jam ethos, one band consistently rises to the top, bringing together fans from across the musical spectrum. EOTO crisscrosses the country blowing out basement dives, packed theaters, and stages under the stars. This 100% improvised dubstep/breakbeat/house/drum & bass/trip-hop duo is the premier late-night party in the country.

Throbbing bass and thudding beats are the signatures of this project from drummers Michael Travis and Jason Hann. Born out of their shared love of electronic dance music, EOTO’s M.O. is to take the free-wheeling party vibe of a DJ set to the next level by using organic instruments, innovative performance technology, and uncharted musical exploration. Live drums, guitars, and keys, and vocals are mixed, remixed, and sampled on the fly using cutting-edge programs. This is all done without a script, and without a net.

Infected Mushroom at Fox Theatre - 09.23.11

Z2 Entertainment is proud to present Infected Mushroom at the Fox Theatre on Friday, September 23rd, 2011.  Tickets go on sale Friday, August 19th for $15.00 in advance & $17.00 day of show.  Door times and show times will be announced in the near future.

Psy-Trance innovators Infected Mushroom have become one of the biggest electronic bands on the planet. Twice ranked among the world’s 10 best DJs by the bible of the scene, the U.K.’s DJ Magazine, the Israel-bred, L.A. based duo bring a frenetic rock energy to the form. Their explosive show, featuring guitars, live drums, intensely passionate vocals and an ambitious multimedia backdrop, ranks among the genre’s most unpredictably joyous events. And their recordings continually venture where other electronic acts fear to tread.

Amit “Duvdev” Duvedevani and Erez Eisen have been working for nearly two years on an aggressive new album – their first since 2007’s critically acclaimed Vicious Delicious – for dance-music visionary Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label. Duvdev describes the as-yet untitled record, recorded at Infected Mushroom Laboratory in L.A. and slated for a June 2009 release, as a return to the pair’s metal roots. Guests include singer Jonathan Davis of Korn, who lends his estimable pipes to the track “Smashing the Opponent.” Oakenfold has worked closely with the band in an A&R capacity. “Paul’s known as a House DJ, so we weren’t sure how he’d feel about our heaviest material,” Duvdev reveals, “but he loved it. He’s really brought a lot of great energy and advice to the table.” From the Ultra Fest in Miami to the Virgin Festival in Baltimore, from Mexico’s OMIX to Cali’s Coachella, from Brazil’s Ipanema Beach to Melbourne’s Metro Club, Infected Mushroom has averaged about 120 live performances per year. The band will honor that tradition in 2009, starting with a 17-date U.S. tour slated to kick off in Texas in March.   For more information please visit http://www.infected-mushroom.com.

MartyParty at Fox Theatre - 08.20.11

Z2 Entertainment is proud to present MartyParty at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, August 20th.  Tickets go on sale Friday, July 1st for $15.00 in advance and $18.00 day of show.

Since the release of his Blueberry Kush EP in February 2011, MartyParty has been rippling a continuous wave of monstrous bass throughout the US.  Whether headlining alongside fellow Monsters of Bass FreQ Nasty and Opiuo or performing as PANTyRAID with co-producer Ooah of The Glitch Mob, his signature sound of purple dubstep oozes through the bins to entrance sold-out dance floors across the country.

Supporters have grown organically from the loyal tribes of crunkstep purveyors to a newer 100,000 person strong army of sonic kush connoisseurs.  Fans give rise to his PANTyRAID’s Superior release, pushing the EP to #1 position on iTunes electronic album charts in April 2011.

When not on the road, the South African-born performer and producer locks down in his Brooklyn-based studio to produce a diverse catalog of original heat-from downtempo compositions that slip behind the curtains of a dark and twisted audio fantasy to intense stadium anthems riddled with hooks and bass.  His exploration into the world of future bass tells an electronic story of Purple-the subject of his debut album release.

Purple hits stores on May 31st, 2011 and is supported by scheduled club and theater appearances throughout the US and Canada, as well as festival dates at Camp Bisco, Lighting in a Bottle and Sonic Bloom.  The 13-track LP begins with a breakfast of “Eggs and Toast” before launching into an amusement park ride that twist and turns through hyper-drive drum & bass and throbbing dubstep.

SONIC BLOOM Announces Over 75 Artists on 2 Stages

SONIC BLOOM has announced the final line-up for the 2011 festival including 2 full stages of music and a satellite DJ booth highlighting over 75 of the nation’s best nationally touring and up-and-coming electronic performers. For the last six years the boutique festival has served as a launchpad for some of the most successful electronic artists on the scene including Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, the Glitch Mob and consummate tour dogs, EOTO.  The event, scheduled to take place for three days between June 24-26th will feature yet another stellar line-up including festival regulars EOTO, the highly sought TIPPER SOUND EXPERIENCE and one of the pioneers of Dubstep; Mala from London.

In less than two weeks SONIC BLOOM 2011 will commence in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains just 40 minutes west of Denver in the outskirts of the historical mining town, Georgetown, CO. The annual event, now in its 6th year, culminates nightly with a myriad of visual performers including aerialists, fire dancers and stilt walkers as well as live painters, artisans and vending booths featuring a hand selection of unusual crafts and fashion geared to serve the natural health communities. Festival goers can choose from daily workshops in yoga, spirituality and even unified field theory as well as the unprecedented musical line-up scheduled for each day of the celebration.

This year SONIC BLOOM also boasts two different soundsystems developed to nurture low frequency bass and accentuate the subtle sounds known for setting this style of music apart from other dance genres. The main stage will flaunt the famous Ambisonic surround Sound System from FunktionOne, which has won numerous international awards and has amplified such luminaries as Pink Floyd. The CoDome stage will be hosted by local dubstep promoters sub.mission and be powered by local favorite Basscouch and their 50,000 watts of powerful ‘bass to your face’and will feature a handful of local artists and a selection of DJ’s who’ve won their slot on stage through on-line voting.

For festival goers looking to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings, the new SONIC BLOOM campsite has on-site shaded camping next to Clear Creek, fire-pit areas and even river rafting expeditions offered daily through Mile Hi Rafting. The folks from the Basics Fund are also offering discounted party bus options for riders coming from Fort Collins, Boulder and Denver as a safe alternative to driving.

With so many opportunities, it’s no wonder that this year’s event is showing record ticket sales. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. | Hi-Dive | Denver, CO

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. took the stage last night at the Hi-Dive in Denver clearly on a mission from God. Wearing their traditional Nascar-style track jumpsuits and big ol mesh trucker caps, the Detroit duo of Josh Epstein and Daniel Zott made their debut in the great city of Denver on a tour supporting the release of their debut album, It’s a Corporate World.

Tipper Sound Experience is Unleashed

Commencing this summer British composer and producer, Tipper, is embarking on a sonic pilgrimage, performing at select venues and festivals with the NeXuS Funktion One Dance Stacks originally designed by legendary sound guru Tony Andrews. Tipper will be joined by the highly sought-after lighting impresario Audiopixel to present an exclusive visual experience driven by highly attuned, audio responsive, 3D LED lighting software using intelligent control of light and color. Topped off with tour support from VibeSquaD the performances are intending to blow the minds of all who are lucky enough to encounter the TIPPER SOUND EXPERIENCE.

Tipper (real name DaveTipper) is widely acknowledged as one of Electronic music's pioneering innovators. He was signed to Sony as a teenager when he helped kickstart the Nuskool Breakbeat genre, creating the deepest and baddest basslines heard before, or since. He went on to inspire the Glitch Hop movement, focused on merging hip hop beats with electronic trickery through his seminal Tip Hop and Wobble Factor LP's. During this time he also composed one of the first albums produced and intended for release in the 5.1 surround sound format, and Surrounded was nominated Best Release Intended for Surround Sound. His talents in Sound Design and Digital Mastering have him in great demand with major music making software programs, and accordingly his work is quietly featured in the output of countless releases in various genres. His live performances consist largely of his own unreleased compositions, and he is highly regarded for scratching his own sounds over his music, creating a live element of turntablism stemming from prowess early in his career as a vinyl DJ.

THE TIPPER SOUND EXPERIENCE will feature a 5 way crossover sound system in a Quadraphonic Array with specialized sub woofers dedicated to 45 hertz and below; this configuration achieves incredible clarity and sonic accuracy punctuated by thick and luxurious super-low bass. When positioned this way for Tipper, these dance stacks are known for creating an immersive sound environment that transforms the dance floor into an ethereal field of holographic sound. The purity of the Funktion One design approach completely avoids the usual pitfall of system EQ with its associated phase problems, allowing all of Tipper's production trickery and nuance to be presented in an unfettered manner. This technology has won numerous international awards for Best Sound Product in the club world, and their installations have been behind countless 'Club of The Year' winners.

Audio Pro Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, and inaugural PLASA Gottelier Award winner Tony Andrews founded Funktion One with John Newsham in 1992. Whilst often imitated, their designs have been the first choice of many permanent and touring sound applications around the World including luminary clients Pink Floyd, Santana, and the Glastonbury Festival. They are globally known for their pioneering work and ethos, and consistently set the standard for modern audio engineering.

In their own words: We understand sound to be the most important of our senses and in fact, the root of the structure of the entire Universe. As such, we try to pay the amazing acuity of human hearing the respect it deserves by providing products that deliver as much resolution and detail as is possible. We also pay considerable attention to the emotional effect of not just music, but the sound itself, what you might call its 'quality'. In a world where everything is 'dumbing down' and finesse and subtlety are rapidly disappearing, it is a source of pride to us that we are continually going in the opposite direction, expanding the envelope. On a spiritual level, good music and good sound has the effect of opening peoples' minds and deepening their consciousness which can only be good for the planet.

THE TIPPER SOUND EXPERIENCE features a rare matchup of audio and visual talent and will include headline performances at The Big Bounce, Rain Dance, and SONIC BLOOM festivals, followed by a rare show at The Coconut Grove Grand Ballroom on Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and culminating with a special presentation at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. STS9 @ Hangout Festival 2011

STS9 kicks off a summer of massive touring, performing at a dozen festivals, including Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores Alabama, amphitheatres and more in support of their upcoming summer EP release on 1320 Records.

Since forming in Atlanta over a decade ago, instrumental electronic rock band STS9 has experienced a meteoric rise to the forefront of the electronic-rock music scene. Recently ranked #25 among Pollstar’s list of top-grossing touring acts for Summer 2010, STS9 averaged more than 4,200 tickets sold per city on a 25 city tour that boasted opening acts such as Ghostland Observatory, Thievery Corporation and Big Boi of Outkast. The band’s tour culminated with two sold out performances at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, with 18,000 fans on-hand to experience the audio-visual force that is STS9.

STS9 truly does it all; from headlining stages at festivals such as Austin City Limits Festival, Lollapalooza and Electric Daisy Carnival, to selling out shows around the country in opera houses and amphitheatres alike, to performing with Jay-Z in arenas, to running their own record label, 1320 Records, to using their voice as a platform for change and raising significant amounts of money towards funding for their activism efforts (including $150,000 this past year to The Make it Right Foundation, paving the way to rebuild a house in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans). Pushing boundaries is all in a day’s work for STS9.

In addition to the release of their latest studio album, Ad Explorata (the tenth in their full discography), and in keeping with XLR8R Magazine’s notion that STS9 is "one of the country's most intriguing, innovative outfits around,” June 2010 brought the release of Axe the Cables (1320 Records), a live album featuring STS9’s first ever acoustic performance recorded in late 2009 at the Gates Opera House in Denver, Colorado. These electronic virtuosos got back to their roots, performing on all acoustic instruments to absolutely rave reviews, and inspired additional “unplugged” events at various noteworthy stops across the country during their summer tour – including sold out performances at the Gramercy Theatre in New York, Atlanta’s Tabernacle and the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago.

STS9’s self-owned record label, 1320 Records was founded on the principles of collaboration, cooperation, and community. The goal is clear: bring the music to the people in the most conscious, unique innovative and savvy ways possible. By doing so, the distance lessens between artists and fans, putting the power back in the hands of those that make music and those that live for it.
