THE BRIDGE Announce 'National Bohemian' & Tour Dates

The Bridge will release their fifth studio album National Bohemian on February 1, 2011 through Woodberry Records/Thirty Tigers. For its latest effort, the Baltimore-based six-piece enlisted Grammy Award-winning producer and Los Lobos multi-instrumentalist Steve Berlin to join the band behind the boards. Ranging from the sonically dense, voodoo-tinged rock of "Sanctuary" to the modern day murder ballad "Moonlight Mission," the 11-track collection is shaped by the dynamics that distinguish the band's two principle songwriters Cris Jacobs and Kenny Liner. Jacobs delivers Dixie-drenched southern soul, while Liner's approach is steeped in swaggering American roots music. As a preview to the recording, The Bridge is offering a free download of "Moonlight Mission" at their website.

Plans are set for The Bridge to tour throughout 2011 in support of National Bohemian. They'll kick off the year sharing a three-night co-bill with Trombone Shorty that includes New Year's Eve at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia. The band will then celebrate the album's release by headlining a hometown record release party at Ram's Head Live in Baltimore on January 29. In February, The Bridge will head out for a string of dates across the east coast with Tea Leaf Green before traveling to the midwest to support Galactic. Keller Williams Announces Winter 2010 Tour

Today one-man-band Keller Williams announces his tour plans for early 2011. In addition to evening theatre shows in Austin, Chicago, and Philadelphia, Keller has confirmed some special matinee performances/book signings in select markets. That’s right, book signings. Hand-in-hand with the release of Keller Williams’ sixteenth album — and first-ever album for kids and families — appropriately titled Kids, Keller once again breaks new ground with the November 30 release of his very first children’s book, Because I Said So (Fun Read Publishing, $20, for ages 2-8, 33 pages).

Before the year’s end, Keller tours as the “Super Music Friend” along select Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! stops. For the holidays, Keller performs some very special shows in and around his hometown of Fredericksburg, Virginia, including his 10th annual SPCA Holiday Benefit. A complete list of currently confirmed shows – both evening and matinee performances - is included below.

Based on Keller’s song by the same name (included on Kids), Because I Said So is told through the eyes of “L’il Keller,” who begins by asking, “Mommy, can I have some pink flamingos?” The little fellow soon learns the important life lesson that you can’t always have what you want, and there isn’t always a good reason why. “You can't have an alligator, tractor, giraffe or hippopotamus, cause I said so!" Enhanced by the cleverly drawn illustrations of Virginia artist Bill Harris, Because I Said So is humorous, colorful, heartfelt, and wise. Included with the book is a CD containing the song "Because I Said So.” Because I Said So is available at www.kellerwilliamskids.net.

--

KIDS – Keller’s first album release for children and families - has already been warmly embraced by kids’ and music tastemakers:

"[Keller's] big-hearted wit is perfectly suited to the songs on Kids, a record that will entertain children of all ages without talking down to them." - All Music Guide

“Kids sparkles with invention.” - Technorati.com

“This is hands-down my favorite kids album of all time.” - Perfect Porridge

--

A number of gift packages that include both Kids and Because I Said So, as well as kid-sized T-shirts with the cute-as-can-be goat babies from the album cover, are available at www.kellerwilliamskids.net.

The band will begin their winter adventures with their 4th annual destination event, this year in sunny Mexico, where 1000 fans will join them for the sold-out Mayan Holidaze. Soon after, Umphrey’s McGee embarks on a two-month tour that takes them from coast to coast. Along the way, the band will be joined by support acts including Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Orchard Lounge, Zach Deputy, Keller Williams and others to be announced. Ticket Presale for the US Winter Tour begins on Tuesday, November 16 at UMTicketing. Those who purchase early will be entered to win a cool merchandise package (1 winner for each show on the tour!). Visit www.umphreys.com for details. The complete list of winter tour dates is included below.

Before year’s end, Umphrey’s McGee will conclude 2010 with some special holiday performances. Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss’ 8th Annual acoustic holiday show to benefit Ustorm Foundation is on Saturday, December 4th at the Park West in their hometown of Chicago. The following weekend, Umphrey’s McGee is honored to be part of Warren Hayne’s 22nd annual Christmas Jam in Asheville, North Carolina. Finally, the band rings in the New Year with three nights at The Riviera Theatre in Chicago. Tickets for the New Year’s run are on sale now via Etix.

Umphrey’s McGee will release a collection of new music in early 2011. In a departure from the standard "album" format, Umphrey’s will instead offer up the highly anticipated new material via a series of digital EPs. To get fans warmed-up, Umphrey’s has released a free MP3 download of the band’s brand new song “Wellwishers.” Folks can download it here, and while there, fans can snatch up the Wellwishers widget to easily share the new tune with friends.

The Concretes Announce First North American Tour in Four Years!

Sweden’s dreamy indie-pop ensemble The Concretes dropped their new album, WYWH, last Tuesday, November 9th via Friendly Fire Recordings, and now we’re excited to announce their first North American tour in four years, which will take place between January and March 2011! The tour is split in two, with the band hitting markets on the East Coast, Midwest and Canada in January, then returning in February/March to tackle the West Coast.

WYWH sees The Concretes in their new, improved incarnation- former drummer Lisa Milberg has stepped out from behind the drum kit to take over lead vocals after the departure of Victoria Bergsman. The album has a dreamy, ethereal disco feel, and features less guitar, more keyboards, bass, and deep grooves, while maintaining the irresistable melodies that give The Concretes the sound that they’ve come to define.

Vanity Theft Announce New Album & Tour

Following on the heels of several months of non-stop touring in support of their recent EP, Anatomy, Vanity Theft, Ohio’s rockin' female quartet is ready to unleash their new full-length album, Get What You Came For, due digitally on February 1st, with the physical album available in stores on March 1st via
Vigilante Music/Adamant Records.

To celebrate the news, we’re happy to share a remix of the albums’ track “Anatomy,” by Lefse Records’ artist Houses, who gives the song a nice ambient spin! Vanity Theft is also thrilled to announce a Spring 2011 national tour, alongside Hunter Valentine! The tour will find them hitting markets all across North America- let us know if you’d like to check out any of the dates.

Vanity Theft is Alicia Grodecki (vocals/keyboard), Lalaine (bass), Brittany Hill (guitar) and Elyse Driskill (drums). Over the past five years, the band has built a rabid following the old fashioned way: by touring their asses off. The bands’ early gigs started in their hometown of Dayton, then spread after a highly successful stint on 2009’s Warped Tour, resulting in several national tours in 2010 (most recently with Sick of Sara).

Reminiscent of some of the best old school as well as post riot-grrl indie sounds (The Runaways, L7, Sleater Kinney), Vanity Theft tears it up live, leaving the audience almost as sweat-drenched as the band when it’s all over.

After attracting the attention of former Disney Channel star Lalaine, who joined the band permanently earlier this year, the band set to work on the Anatomy EP, which dropped last month as a precursor to the upcoming full-length. Get What You Came For finds the band at their very best: catchy, edgy, and dancey as hell. The album kicks off with the charging track “Trainwreck,” and doesn’t let you go until the final notes of “Missing Teeth” slowly fade out.
