ROCK'N BOWL TO BENEFIT THE BOGART FUND

The Rock 'n Bowl Charity Event will be held on February 3, 2011 from 7pm-2am at the Lucky Strike Bowling Lanes at LA Live in Los Angeles, CA to benefit the Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program.  Celebrities from the Music and Entertainment Industries will be in attendance to support the charity.  Tax-deductible donations for tickets, sponsorship of lanes and raffle tickets are funding this event to save lives.  There will be an After-Party Tribute Concert in memory of Richie Hayward (drummer of Little Feat who lost his battle with Cancer on August 12, 2010) featuring performances by members of his band and Nashville Recording Artist, Nick Nicholson, fresh from his New Year's Eve performance with Toby Keith. Sound and lighting provided by Southern California Sound Image of Escondido.

Over the years, hundreds of volunteers have worked passionately with the charity to help raise the funds to provide research for leukemia, cancer and AIDS research. The charity is proud of their long history and reputation for innovation in fundraising and the research they support.

The Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research Program is headquartered in Los Angeles at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

HAAM Benefit Day 2010 The Best Ever

The 5th Annual HAAM Benefit Day, held on Tuesday, September 21, brought in the largest amount of funds ever raised for Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, its member-musicians and the healthcare service programs they participate in: $195,000, the organization reported today.

It was a record-breaking day all around, with the largest number of Austin area businesses making a donation or pledging a portion of the day’s proceeds — more than 200 — and the most musical performances (more than 140) heard on any HAAM Benefit Day.

“We at HAAM are incredibly pleased with the response to the fifth HAAM Benefit Day,” said Keith Carmichael, HAAM Benefit Day 2010 Committee chairman. “The number of businesses and the number of entertainers participating — not to mention the amount of funds raised, the largest ever — shows us how much this city and the people in it appreciate live music and what this organization is doing to make sure it flourishes.”

In addition to acknowledging Whole Foods Market for its generosity in serving for five consecutive years as HAAM Benefit Day presenting sponsor, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians is grateful for the tens of thousands of dollars donated not only by Whole Foods Market but also by C3 Presents and South by Southwest® over the years of HAAM Benefit Day.
It also recognizes Texas Heritage Songwriters Association for its donation that matched the contribution of the Austin community on September 21 as residents ate out, shopped and donated on behalf of their favorite music-makers.
Health Alliance for Austin Musicians also announced today the date for the 6th Annual HAAM Benefit Day: Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, when business, the music community and residents will again unite to keep music alive and well in Austin.
Health Alliance for Austin Musicians provides access to affordable healthcare services to Austin’s low-income, uninsured working musicians with a focus on prevention and wellness. Since HAAM’s 2005 start, more than 2,200 of the city’s battalion of hard-working musicians have joined and gained access to regular, cost-effective healthcare services. Medical, dental, mental, hearing and vision health services are provided by Seton Family of Hospitals, St. David’s Foundation, The SIMS Foundation, Estes Audiology and Prevent Blindness Texas. Conscious Alliance Announces Holiday Meal Drive & Toy Collection

As the holidays approach and the spirit of giving swells, Boulder, Colorado-based national nonprofit Conscious Alliance announces the 7th Annual Holiday Meal Drive this Thanksgiving Season, taking place November 18-24, 2010. Conscious Alliance has been hosting food drives at concerts and sporting events since 2002, collecting and distributing nearly 1,000,000 pounds of food to impoverished Native American Reservations.

Last year, Conscious Alliance’s Holiday Meal Drive collected enough food to distribute over 1,500 holiday meal boxes to Native American households at Lame Deer Reservation in Montana, Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, and Houma Reservation in Louisiana. This holiday season, Conscious Alliance hopes to feed more than 10,000 families through donations and it’s easy to help. A donation of $15 or more will provide dinner for a family this holiday season and only $30 or more will feed an individual for an entire week. Conscious Alliance concentrates much of their efforts on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, where the average median income is under $3,000. Many families in this region struggle to provide food and heat for their households. Native American youth are particularly affected by the poverty in Pine Ridge, where one-fourth of the population is under the age of eighteen. Not forgetting the children in these impoverished families, Conscious Alliance will host a toy drive too – this year at the November 7, 2010 Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! performance at Broomfield, Colorado’s 1STBANK Center.

All toys collected at Kia Motors Presents Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: There’s A Party In My City! will benefit the youth of this area and be distributed during the holiday season. It is recommended all donations at Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! are a new stuffed animal valued at $10 or more.
