EOTO Takes The Country By Storm With Innovative Live Electronic Music

From dance halls to intimate theaters worldwide comes EOTO - the nation’s top innovator in glitchy electronic, bass thumping, dub-step themed music. With performances booked well into 2010 including dates in Tucson, Albuquerque, San Diego and all along the western seaboard, EOTO is taking the country by storm with their innovative brand of live electronic music.

What EOTO achieves on stage is nothing short of astounding. Performed with all of the bells and whistles of a traditional electronic artist plus the addition of live drums, vocals, bass and guitar, the duo creates each and every bass ridden noise right before your eyes -without the addition of a single pre-recorded track. Known for their 100% live improvised performance, EOTO is breaking ground into a new sub culture of music while standing against some of the nations best live DJ’s in the country.

With leagues of sold-out theater performances in 2009, the project started out as an avenue for the duo to blow off steam and generally just have a good time playing around with technology with music. Now, a full time project for the pair with a seemingly endless tour featuring over 600 shows in 4 years and sold out performances in every market in the country. With no signs of stopping, EOTO fine-tunes their approach and skill with each and every show they play, leaving the next performance more unique then the last.

The project will be careening the countryside in 2010 with back-to-back performances scheduled well into late spring and festival dates booked swiftly behind it. The project will be playing along the mountain west and up the west coast before heading back to middle America, through the South, and over to the East Coast in support of their third release, Fire The Lazers, which is now available on iTunes or at a show near you.

About What if?:

Founded in 2000, the What If? Foundation funds food and education programs for children in Haiti.

From the beginning, the What If? Foundation has been in partnership with the St. Clare’s community of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Our success is made possible through the collaborative efforts of members of St. Clare’s, who prepare and serve thousands of food program meals every week, enroll students into school, and run an annual summer camp. This commitment and expertise, combined with the financial resources provided by the What If? Foundation is what makes these desperately needed programs possible.

With this simple formula of local dedication and international support, we’re making a tangible difference in the lives of some of the world’s hungriest children. We welcome you to join us.

Earl Greyhound To Release Sophomore LP "Suspicious Package"

EARL GREYHOUND is pleased to announce the release of Suspicious Package, a blistering rock inferno spun out of the Brooklyn trio’s inspired and innovative rock-n-roll imagination machine.  Suspicious Package was recorded at Red Bull Studios in Santa Monica, under the nimble and keen producerly auspices of Dave Schiffman (Mars Volta, Red Hot Chili Peppers, System of a Down).

Earl Greyhound formed in 2002 with the collaboration of songwriters Matt Whyte and Kamara Thomas, who began performing regularly as a duo in NYC. All the while, they were crafting the unique sound and songs that would form the foundation for a colossal rock band. Their influences swept from the strident English three-and four-pieces of the 70’s, to the dark pop and heavy grunge grooves of the 90’s, to the transcendental, noisy acid sounds of modern rock.

In 2005, EG recorded their first album, Soft Targets, but they also hit their first snag when drummer Chris Bear left to pursue his fortunes with the band Grizzly Bear. Reluctant to release the album without a permanent drummer, Matt and Kamara vowed to play relentlessly until their dream drummer found them. Guitar player Kirk Douglass (The Roots) witnessed a show and brought his friend and Gold Crowns band mate Ricc Sheridan to the next few gigs. Ricc says, “I awoke from a dream one night, and I knew this was my band.” A few weeks later, a rockneck-inducing jam confirmed that the band had found its soul mate, and they hit the ground running.  Soft Targets and EG’s wrecking ball of a live show earned them oodles of fans and critical acclaim from The New Yorker, SPIN, Rolling Stone, Brooklyn Vegan and Pitchfork, among others. The next three years were spent touring the US, Canada and Japan as well as opening for Gov’t Mule, Chris Cornell and Saul Williams.

Suspicious Package is Earl Greyhound’s sophomore release. The album marks a turning point in the band’s maturation since the benefit of Mr. Sheridan’s full creative collaboration. Listeners will notice a marked expansion into the higher reaches of the sonic territories. Heavy, dark, groovy and grand—Suspicious Package is a reminder that though ROCK is still only a four-letter word, it can still pack a load of splendor.

Cursive to Support Alkaline Trio on Spring Tour Dates

Cursive will support Alkaline Trio on their upcoming spring tour dates, which will take the band across the country and back beginning February 16th at the Glass House in Pomona, CA, and wrapping up April 2nd at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA.

Since the release of their sixth studio album Mama, I'm Swollen on Saddle Creek Records last March, Cursive has crisscrossed the country multiple times as a headliner. The band - long known for their indefatigable touring schedule as well as their incendiary, cathartic live show - completed their most recent tour in mid-December. Cursive's shows throughout 2009 drew acclaim, with Indianapolis, IN's Nuvo Weekly remarking, "Opening with 'Bloody Murderer' from their breakthrough album The Ugly Organ, the five-piece slashed through a near-perfect set of songs from their last nine years of albums" and Melophobe declaring, "Cursive has proved that they are not only solid musicians, but incredible performers with a stamina that can be matched by few."

Cursive also released videos for three songs off of Mama, I'm Swollen over the past ten months: "From The Hips" (here); "I Couldn't Love You" (here); and "Let Me Up" (here). The band also made their much-deserved network television debut on the Late Show with David Letterman on March 13, 2009 (watch it here).

A Cosmic Time Was Had By All

It seemed that everyone had a blast this year as we celebrated the New Year in Baltimore at Rams Head Live with 6 plus hours of music. The Bridge kicked off the night with a smokin' set with Rob Koritz sitting in for most of the show. We then rolled into our 2nd ever Acoustic Set on the east coast: Deep Elem, Monkey, Cold Jordan, You Ain't Woman Enough, Midnight Moonlight, Mountains of the Moon into Ripple. We took a short break and rocked right into our 1st Electric Set: Help>Slip>Franklin's, Cassidy (w/Donna), Next Time You See Me, Cumberland, Midnight Hour - into the countdown and back to Midnight Hour>China>Rider. At midnight, there was the thunder of confetti cannons, a shower of balloons and a return of Father Time as he welcomed in the New Year by shadowing the musicians and dancing his timeless freaky dance with Donna Jean. As the confetti settled and the balloons kept bouncing, we went into our 3rd Set Scarlet (w/Donna)>William Tell>The Eleven>Fire(w/Both ladies)>Drumz>Sp...anish jam>Alligator>Blues for Allah>St Stephen>Viola Lee. Encores w/ both ladies...I'll Be With Thee>Tangled Up in Blue. We hope that you all had as much fun as we did and we wish you all the happiest and healthiest of New Years.

The Boat Was A Rockin'

As the ship set sail, DSO launched their first set of the week on the Pool Deck with an original setlist packed with gems. A massive segway of Playin in the Band-> Cryptical->The Other One->Cryptical->Drums->Space->Playin in the Band->Eyes of the World->Sugar Magnolia sent the ship dancing into the high seas. A couple nights later the band held court in the Teatro Carlo Felice Theater closing out night 4 of the cruise. From the opening jam that led to Shakedown Street, the night was on. The sets highlight was the run of Alligator->St Stephen->William Tell Bridge->The Eleven->Drums->Space-> Truckin->Death Don't Have No Mercy->Lovelight.

In addition to the two formal sets, various DSO members were found all over the boat in different musical groupings. Both Rob Koritz and Rob Barraco were found in The Jam Room well past 5:00 am on more than one occasion. Rob Koritz joined The Everyone Orchestra for their improvised set. Dino joined the Rock Star Karaoke Band which included members of Hot Buttered Rum. As pictures and recordings surface we are sure to uncover other stories and will share them as they come to light.

Dark Star Orchestra @ Boulder Theater

DSO sing entire shows from the Grateful Dead's 30 years of extensive touring as a launching pad, Dark Star Orchestra recreates the original song for song performance set list for an entirely new generation of, as well as old school, Deadheads. Dark Star Orchestra performs Grateful Dead classics in the same way that an orchestra interprets music of classical composers. The composer spirit is derived and channeled as the players capture the excitement and innovation of the original performances and compositions. Touring nationwide for nine years to the tune of nearly 1500 shows since forming, the band's determined commitment to "raising the Dead" has drawn national media attention.

Precision is king with DSO; the band adapts their stage positioning, vocal arrangements, specific musical equipment and instruments to fit the era of the show they are performing. Following each performance the band announces the date and venue of the original performance. Dark Star Orchestra could dip into any incarnation of the dead at any of their shows, allowing fans to experienceˇ shows that happened long before they were born.

Tiësto Launches Innovative Fansite “InTheBooth”

How does the biggest DJ/producer in the world capture Web 2.0 and re-invent artist-to-fan interaction?

Tiësto delivers an innovative, one of a kind experience to his dedicated global fan base with the launch of his new members-only fansite, InTheBooth.

InTheBooth gives fans the ability to interact directly with the world famous DJ, while providing HD streaming concerts, behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive content and more.  Fans from all over the world will now gain access to a side of Tiësto never before seen by the public.

The tech savvy, arena-selling DJ, who boasts a network of over 1.5 million users on Facebook, stated, “I love the idea of being able to make music and get it to my fans in the most direct way possible.  When I came up with the idea for the site, I tested most of the platforms out there and then realized, I needed to make a custom site to handle the specific functionality I couldn’t find elsewhere.”  Outfitted with the latest technology, InTheBooth will now be Tiësto’s outlet for broadcasting exclusive performances, live shows, and debuting new “white label” tracks for fans prior to their release.  The current featured attraction for new members is Tiësto’s epic live performance concert video, taken this summer from his 25,000 person sold out show at Victoria Park in London.  Further performance videos scheduled to air include Tiësto’s Kaleidoscope sold out world tour kickoff at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom and the final show of his North American run, live from the Shrine in Los Angeles, California.

The list of InTheBooth’s features continues with members having access to Tiësto’s enormous complete back-catalogue and his complete collection of Club Life podcasts, the #1 artist podcast in the world.   Additional features include tour blogs from both Tiësto and his crew, access to pre-sale tickets, limited-edition merchandise, an interview series from his hometown of Breda, and best of all, the chance to meet Tiësto backstage. When asked about the impact InTheBooth has had , “while I love using Facebook for mass communication and my Twitter to shoot a quick update, I can now chat directly with the people who support me most.  The best part is, every city I perform in, I get to hang with new InTheBooth members each night and I finally have the opportunity to get to know my supporters on a personal level.”

Earlier this year, Tiësto established his own label and publishing company, Musical Freedom, where for the first time in his career, he has full control and ownership of his music and can take full advantage of InTheBooth as a major platform for releasing new music.  In 2010 his Kaleidoscope world tour heads to South America, Australia and Europe, where he will continue to film and broadcast new content and debut new material.  More information on InTheBooth and tour dates can be found at www.inthebooth.com.

The world’s biggest electronic artist and critically-acclaimed DJ/ producer, Tiësto has joined forces with some very special guests on his fifth and most ambitious album to date Kaleidoscope (Ultra Records). A stunning collection of songs written and recorded in collaboration with a variety of music’s brightest talents from the worlds of dance, pop and rock that include Nelly Furtado, Jónsi from Sigur Rós, Tegan & Sara, Kélé Okereke from Bloc Party, Emily Haines from Metric and Calvin Harris just to name a few.

Along with this release of the album, Tiësto has been stunning audiences on a worldwide tour, taking the sounds and sights of Kaleidoscope on the road for 175 live performances across 5 continents. Enlisting the talents of Montreal’s Moment Factory (NIN, Cirque Du Soleil), Tiësto has created the biggest and best live show to date leaving fans and critics breathless, evident from a number of sold-out shows at arenas and large venues throughout North America.
