Eternal Summers | Correct Behavior | New CD Review

Correct Behavior is the second album from Eternal Summers. It has a sort of punk-indie feel to it. Despite the dreamy hip sound, it is laden with electric guitars and spunky sounding vocals. In fact, it’s a bit reminiscent of the 80’s.

Keller Williams & The Travelin McCourys: Pick | Review

Multi-faceted artist Keller Williams is constantly surprising his fan base with a dizzying array of new releases and unique projects.  He started his career as a one-man band and has gradually over the years become more of a bandleader, directing such excellent endeavors like The Keller Williams Incident, Keller and the WMDs, Kdubalicious, etc.

Del and Dawg | Hardcore Bluegrass in the Dawg House | Review

For all of you many hardcore bluegrass fans out there, now more than ever is the time to sink your teeth into archival material from your favorite artists. More and more releases keep popping up, both in-studio sessions and live performances. It seems like the bluegrass community values the live-performance aspect of the form, and wants the luster of the instrumentation to be given proper representation.

Domino Effect | 'Music For My Soul' | New CD Review

Rightly named Music For My Soul, Domino Effect created an album that elicits a feel good vibe throughout. Starting (and finishing) with a positive message, Domino Effect begins their new album with Chains and It’s Alright. Their sound is reminiscent of a snippet of a few bands.

Dangermuffin | 'Olly Oxen Free' | New Music Review

Olly Oxen Free, the newest album from South Carolina-based band Dangermuffin, is a fun listen. Blending elements of roots rock with a sprinkling of southern slides, improvised instrumentals, and meandering drum breaks, the trio plays an interesting sort of rambling-jam music that showcases quite a bit of range.

Eliot Lipp: Shark Wolf Rabbit Snake | New Music Review

For the record, I believe that Pretty Lights Music (the label) represents the future of independent electronic music, offering digital, freely available releases to the public and paying the way with goodwill and a collective reputation for putting on tight live shows.

McCauliffe Brothers Band: It's Likely | New Music Review

The McCauliffe Brothers Band’s debut full-length, It’s Likely, is, to be quite frank, a mixed bag. A self-described rock/funk/jazz/improvisation/pop act, the North Carolina band treads the line between genres with varied success throughout their first album. To be sure, some listeners will find fault with the band’s musical schizophrenia or the lack of definition in their sound. For my part, though, I enjoyed the set as a whole.

Slash: Apocalyptic Love | New Music Review

On his second solo release, entitled Apocalyptic Love, Slash shows us that he can still shred the guitar like a beast. Did we ever have any doubt?

Justin Jones: Fading Light | New Music Review

Justin Jones' new album Fading Light is an Americana opus, full of deep emotion, musical mood swings, and heartfelt playing.

The Devil Makes Three: Stomp and Smash | New Music Review

The Devil Makes Three live release, Stomp and Smash is more than a title; it’s a review in itself. Recorded over two sold-out nights at the Mystic Theater in Petaluma, CA, these bluegrass Santa Cruzaders’ are hell bent with a raucous punk spirit.
