A Look Back at the 2007 10,000 Lakes Festival

Hey kids! Sorry this review is so late, but life always gets in the way once you return from a fest huh? Anyway, I moved to another state so that was a bit disruptive, then I got almost entirely finished with this little piece here, and the house got struck by lightning! Hope everyone had a great summer and are finding some cool musical events for the upcoming lovely fall weather.

The String Cheese Incident Bows Out in Fine Form

As the saying goes, breaking up is hard to do.  However the end of the first chapter of the String Cheese Incident might have been the most amicable amongst any artists in recent musical history.  The members of the band have decided to part ways indefinitely in order to pursue other artistic interests and frankly back away from the mac

Toubab Krewe Fall Tour

RAQ Rockin' the Boat in NYC | 7/27/07

On July 27th, RAQ set sail for a unique set on the Rocks Off Boat Cruise around the Statue of Liberty. It was their first show back on tour after their own festival the weekend before called the Lew Au II, which took place in their home state of Vermont. The tiny intimate boat set sail at around 10pm, and the band came on shortly after.

This was my fifth time out of its six year existence that I have made the pilgrimage to this Mecca for music. It is never without struggle, conflict, or a challenge that one achieves complete bliss or fulfillment.

Bonnaroo Super Jam 2007 | Review

I would like to apologize to the kid who passed out before my mosh pit neighbors' feet at the sound of my scream. It was at that point in the early morning, somewhere between midnight and dawn, when the thick voodoo pierced my soul sacrificing my voice to the hottest, heaviest, dirtiest jam I have witnessed in my short thirty years on this planet. The victim can take solace in the fact that four nights later my voice has yet to return. Yet he was hardly the only person whose knees buckled at the sounds emanating from the stage.
