Once a blues festival closing off the famed Beale Street, Beale Street Music Festival has outgrown its downtown setting and and for the past few years located on the banks of the Mississippi River. Now ranked in Fest300's list of the worlds best festivals, the live music is diverse and the best bang for your buck in the midwest, if not the country. 

Potions and Poisons (available May 12th) is the fourth studio album of original music from Head for the Hills, the Colorado based post-modern bluegrass outfit of Adam Kinghorn, Joe Lessard, Matt Loewen and Sam Parks. There’s no reinvention of the wheel here--no computer programmed banjo rolls or digitally arpeggiated fiddle lines.

“We're switching things up a little. After four albums, I've decided to step out and start using my own name. It's something that a lot of people have encouraged me to do over the years, and I guess that 2017 just felt right.” That name, Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters, is also the title of the band’s new album, which will be released by Organic Records June 9, 2017. “We're keeping The Honeycutters too because we don't want to confuse people... really, we've always been Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters.

Kitchen Dwellers just released their second studio album titled Ghost In The Bottle last Friday April 21st. After a celebrating their release at Colorado's Fox and Bluebird Theaters the band has set out on an extensive tour in support of the album including a show at New York City's Gramercy Theater supporting Cabinet this Friday and stops at Delfest, Susquehana Breakdown, and Summer Camp Music Festival.

Grammy-nominated musician Grace Potter announced today the lineup for the 2017 Grand Point North music festival. The Trey Anastasio Band will join Potter, Dawes, Mondo Cozmo, Joseph, Hurray For The Riff Raff, Low Cut Connie, Son Little, and Tank & The Bangas for the annual festival, scheduled for September 16 and 17 at Burlington, Vermont’s Waterfront Park.

The Contribution has been living up to their name and giving back, they released their third single from their Wilderness And Space project April 21, benefiting HeadCount. Since this February, The Contribution has been releasing one single a month, as sort of a mid-month pick-me-up. They have partnered with a variety of nonprofits to which 100% of the profits from each single (sold as a digital download) will go to a charity (hand-picked by members of the band) in perpetuity.
