The String Cheese Incident will release Believe, their seventh studio album, on April 14 via SCI Fidelity Recordings. The album is the first to come out of the band's recently-opened Sound Lab Studio and was produced by Talking Heads keyboardist Jerry Harrison.

Garth Hudson, one of two remaining original members of THE BAND and Taj Mahal the multi-GRAMMY AWARD®-winning blues singer-songwriter-composer have been added to remaining dates alongside Warren Haynes, Dr. John, Jamey Johnson and Don Was on the second leg of the 2017 “LAST WALTZ 40 TOUR.” Garth and Taj will be playing all dates listed below to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Band’s historical farewell concert.
 
Paris1919, a Minneapolis ensemble led by experimental Composer and Conductor Chris Strouth have released their second album Antarctica, which is out now via the UltraModern label.
 

THE MAGPIE SALUTE--a new band bringing together Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Sven Pipien of The Black Crowes--will release their self-titled debut album worldwide on June 9 via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Constantly working from the knowledge of self determination, Satsang releases sophomore album on March 20, 2017 with Rootfire Cooperative. The album, Pyramid(s), is a refreshing album ready to activate the masses; accompanying the present minded lyrics is a fuller sound and new-soul vibe. Album special guests include Nahko Bear and Tim Snider of Medicine For The People, Wookiefoot, Tubby Love, and Grammy Award winner Chris Berry (has performed with Paul Winter, Eminem, Grateful Dead’s Bill Kreutzmann, Yousoon N’dour, Sly and Robbie).

The Cuckoos, consisting of Kenneth Frost (vocals, keyboards) Dave North (lead guitar, backing vocals) Eric Ross (bass guitar) and Cole Koenning (drums), first began making music in 2014. Listeners have praised the band's uncanny ability to bring back the sounds of psychedelic rock from the 1960s in their original songs—an especially impressive feat considering their ages.

Brooklyn based singer/songwriter Brett Gleason has just premiered the supremely melancholic video for his current single “Expiration Date” at Purevolume.com. A bleak testament to love’s inherent conclusion, the black and white video took Gleason almost a year to complete, and can be seen here.

Spring is shaping up to be a productive period for Gramatik’s label Lowtemp. Starting with an exciting release in late March - a clash of the label’s jazz titans so to say. In 2016 Lowtemp released guitarist Teo Collori’s masterful gypsy swing album honoring the great Django Reinhard and one of the cuts, Tony Mitraglia, caught the eye of keyboard virtuoso Nicolas Dupuis, better known as Anomalie.

Blending musical versatility, instrumental prowess, beautiful vocal harmonies and a premier rhythm section, the Easy Star All-Stars have established themselves as one of the top international reggae acts on the scene today.

Resuming its status as an annual event after several seasons as a biennial, the New York Guitar Festival returns in Spring 2017 with cross-cultural concert programming in celebration of works for guitar. This year the Festival expands its partnership with media sponsor WNYC, which will host a series of events, including the Opening Night concert by two-time Grammy-winning classical guitarist Sharon Isbin.
