2014 was a year of change for jamgrass favorites Cornmeal.  With a strong lineup including Scott Tipping guitar (Backyard Tire Fire), Phil Roach on fiddle (Giving Tree Band), and Drew Littel on drums, along with 15 year veteran original members Chris Gangi on bass, and Wavy Dave Burlingame on banjo Cornmeal is ready to again take their place at the healm of progressive Americana.

When relating to the Grateful Dead, the term cover band is a sticky one. Some joked that the Dead were the best cover band in the world. Close fans and family understood their powers more clearly. Rather than a cover band they were more of a snowball collecting remnants of America’s musical past. So the idea of covers has always been different when relating to the Dead. The bottom line is nobody in rock approached music the way they did, so cover or not, every tune became an original.

The original members of Grateful Dead have announced two additional shows at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California on June 27th and 28th, as part of their "Fare Thee Well: Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead" run. Along with the three shows at Chicago's Soldier Field on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th, the run will mark the original members' last-ever performances together.
