Chadwick Stokes announced his 12th annual benefit concert in support of Calling All Crows at the House of Blues on Saturday, December 21st.  Performing with his band the Pintos, money raised at the concert will help channel the power of live music toward community change for women and girls. Special guests will be announced soon. Tickets for the concert are $36 and up and are available at LiveNation.com.

Ever thought of visiting Martha’s Vineyard, or simply looking for an excuse to go back? Beach Road Weekend has got you covered. The three-day music festival starts on Friday, August 9th, with a screening of Jaws with a live orchestra. The rest of the weekend has some great music in store for the island, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty will be headlining Saturday night, along with Vermont’s jam legends Dispatch. Alejandro Escovedo, North Mississippi Allstars, and Mason Jennings will also be performing.

Music-fan tribes of all stripes gathered for the Independence Day weekend to luxuriate in the 29th annual High Sierra Music Festival in tiny Quincy, California, basking in the music, vibes, joy, and friendships old and new. Over the four-day celebration, among the beautiful clear-aired mountainous sky and mountains, fun oozed everywhere, from the scheduled and numerous unscheduled live performances and collaborations to the often luxurious and nicely appointed home bases set up in the campgrounds.

DISPATCH will be performing at Thompson’s Point on Saturday, July 20 with special guest Moon Taxi.  The Portland date is one of only a handful of summer stops for the band in 2019.  The upbeat rock band that’s heralded as one of the biggest independent bands in history, is in the middle of one of their most prolific periods to date. Dispatch released a live record called “Live 18” on May 17th which features 21 live recordings - almost all from last summer, including featured performances from tour mates Nahko And Medicine For The People, Raye Zaragoza and Tim Snider.

In a season of terrific shows, this past weekend NYC venue the Brooklyn Bowl had what no doubt was a good one. The six-hundred capacity spaced filled itself full out for a towering, full-throttle night of rock music, delivered by two northeast area bands: Brooklyn’s Of Clocks and Clouds and Connecticut’s leading jam-funk band Kung Fu.

As Monterey woke up for day two of Cali Roots, there was a heavy overcast throughout the neighborhood. Thankfully clouds and thick fog are nothing new to reggae enthusiasts, and the festival proceeded without missing a beat. Day two was a day which focused on roots, both of Reggae and heritage. The artists that played Saturday had a much more thematic tie to family bonds, both those that we are born with, and the family we chose as we go through life.
