Elephant Revival

Since joining their musical fortunes together in 2006, Elephant Revival have worked hard to create a community of fans for their eclectic, acoustic-based sound. They’ve worked just as hard to grow musically, and with their new album, THESE CHANGING SKIES, they’ve reached a new milestone. West Coast music-lovers will have a chance to hear their latest work during a tour run beginning Oct.

All Good Presents and Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra hosted their second annual Dark Star Jubilee Music Festival over the Memorial Day weekend, and from the turnout, it seemed that the challenge made at 2012’s festival by emcee “Toast” was met by the fans of 2012’s Jubilee, where attendees and fans of the band were asked to “Bring a friend or two to next year’s (2013) Jubilee to m

When you bring a together a cast of musicians steeped in different backgrounds for the sole purpose of creating on-stage spontaneity, you have an improvisational outfit. The Everyone Orchestra, conducted by ringleader Matt Butler, is exactly that. The difference between your typical jam band and an improvisational outfit is that the latter shows up to the show with no songbook.

Since they first became a unit, the members of Elephant Revival have built a community of fans who love their eclectic acoustic music and the experience of sharing it together. With each performance, new fans join the Elephant Tribe — and become friends. And now, in the spirit of community and independence, the quintet are turning to those friends to support their latest endeavor: the release of a full-length album they recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Seattle.

The 2nd Annual Dark Star Jubilee, All Good Presents first festival of the 2013 season, has been scheduled for May 24th-26th, featuring three full shows by renowned Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra and performances by Mickey Hart Band, Yonder Mountain String Band, The Wailers, Melvin Seals and JGB, The Werks, and Donna Jean Godchaux Band,

Elephant Revival. If you don’t come out of one of their shows feeling refreshed, uplifted, happier…you may want to visit the doctor. Of course, we all change with every single action and thought, but Elephant Revival packs what seems like a whole lifetime of life lessons, revelations and beauty into a 2-hour set. So when you see them live, you’re sure to get more than just some time in a bar listening to music out of your experience.

Over the years, many great bands have played the stage at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. And many of them have played in Fayetteville year after year. One of those bands is Elephant Revival. If you haven’t seen this band before, just go. I promise you won’t regret it. In the short time I’ve been listening to Elephant Revival, they’ve become one of my top 5 bands.

Suwannee Springfest 2013 was a rainy, thundery affair, but it still exceeded expectations for a supreme gathering of musical talent and a raucous good time. And hey, though it was rainy, as in torrential downpours with heart pounding thunder and lightning, the show went on (a damn good show) without much of a hitch.

Following a fabulous 2012, indie acoustic quintet Elephant Revival is ready to bring even more fans into their musical fold with a spring tour launching March 21 at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Ga., and wrapping April 27 at the Norman Music Festival in Norman, Okla.
