The seasons have turned. The sun is warm the sky is blue, and even the grass is getting green. This can only mean one thing. It's almost summer. What better way to get rid of that winter blues then to bring in the summer with one of the best festivals of the the season? In just over a week, for Memorial day weekend, Dark Star Orchestra gathers the best of the Midwest for a Jubilee. 

Galactic is not just a band. They are a community. They are a party. They are a movement and a force that comes to town to bring an awakening or awareness that is deeply entrenched in a carnival type New Orleans experience. With Mardi Gras at our heels, Denver was still feeling the holiday spirit, and the circus was in town. I call Galactic a community because I have never really seen a band with more of an open family type jam spirit that welcomes so many different types of musicians depending on their latest albums or motives.

Over the course of his 20-year career, drummer Stanton Moore has become known as one of the premier funk musicians of his generation. Catskill Chill Music Festival has announced the lineup for the fourth annual Chill at Camp Minglewood in Hancock, New York. Taking place September 6th – 8th, the 2013 event will offer more music than ever before with 60 acts performing live on five stages during the 3-day camping festival.
