Horseshoes & Hand Grenades

Highlighted by spirited headlining performances by The Devil Makes Three (Saturday), The Infamous Stringdusters (Friday), and Railroad Earth (Sunday), there was a profound additional component to this year’s WinterWonderGrass Tahoe. The weather. Before turning all sunny on Sunday, Friday and Saturday’s proceedings included periodic showers of snow, graupel (look it up), and a little rain.

Acclaimed bluegrass/Americana quintet HORSESHOES & HAND GRENADES is set to release their new album The Ode February 16 via Tape Time Records. The Ode will be the debut offering from the new label, which was founded by their friends in the Infamous Stringdusters. The two like-minded bands return to the road together this Wednesday (2/7) in Louisville, KY (full itinerary below).  The album's second single, "Steer True," is out now; the album's title track was released in September.

Bluegrass, brews and the backdrop of the majestic Rocky Mountains, does it get any better my friends? The sixth annual WinterWonderGrass Music Festival is just around the corner, and this year’s rendition is shaping up to be the most successful year to date.

"Festival Family". You see the term used in practically all fest promo, and here at John Hartford Memorial Festival we are proud to live it, with you. Hopefully by now you have attended JHMF, maybe even all previous 7 years. We are a family friendly, kid friendly, dog friendly, jam friendly, just plain friendly festival and we strive to reach the right number of folks for your maximum comfort.

In 2010, the five Wisconsinites that make up Horseshoes & Hand Grenades found themselves in a living room in the college town of Stevens Point, WI, holding acoustic instruments and enjoying a hodgepodge of fermented beverages. Music and revelry ensued that evening and, while many of the party guests eventually bid their goodbye well into the morning hours, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades wasn't ready to let the get-together fade.
