Progressive, groundbreaking bluegrass quintet, The Infamous Stringdusters have announced dates for their anticipated fall tour, in support of their self-released, fourth studio album, Silver Sky (High Country Recordings). Paste Magazine praised the album, saying,  "Though known for their raucous live performances, the band’s collective energy comes through in a big way on the new LP, particularly on the lead track, “Don’t Mean Nothin’”.

And now for something a little different. This year's box set - Grateful Dead: Spring 1990 - offers six complete shows from the epic spring '90 tour, one concert from each city the band played, personally selected by Dead vaultmeister and archival release producer David Lemieux.

Award-winning mandolinist and music producer David Grisman announced today the HD release of the 1991 Grammy-nominated Garcia/Grisman album, as well as Garcia/Grisman - Alternate. This new edition of Garcia/Grisman celebrates the 70th birthday of the late Jerry Garcia, and contains the original nine tracks in the high-definition (24 bit, 96 khz) format. The second album contains nine previously-unreleased alternate takes, also in high-definition.

Keystone Companions/The Complete 1973 Fantasy Recordings, recorded live on July 10 and 11, 1973 at the Keystone club in Berkeley, California, beautifully captures the magical musical friendship of keyboardist Merl Saunders and guitarist Jerry Garcia.

Perpetual Groove have unveiled the dates for their “Fend For Your Life” fall 2012 Tour. Following a busy spring and festival season, the band hits the road with dates throughout the East Coast and Colorado, plus 2-night runs in Charleston, Boston and New York.

On August 1st at the Beekman Beer Garden, Jerry Garcia’s birthday will be celebrated with sets by two artists connected to the Grateful Dead legacy:  7 Walkers, featuring Bill Kreutzmann of the Dead, and guitarist Steve Kimock, who has performed with the Other Ones, Phil Lesh & Friends and RatDog.  Hard-touring Brooklyn-based roots collective Yarn will open the show.  Located within the South Street Seaport

As the last leaves fall on the East Coast, Dark Star Orchestra brings Fall Tour East 2012 through some familiar haunts as well as some new halls, putting Toronto, New York and DC all on the same street.

Boulder trio Meniskus returns to the local area this Friday night - Meniskus brings their unique world rock rhythms to Nissi's in Lafayette, Colorado.

Meniskus has shared a bill with an amazingly wide array of artists including Tom Petty, Dave Matthews, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Roots and The Disco Biscuits - and their devoted following (and music) are just as diverse.
