Melvin Seals & The JGB Band coming to the River Theater

This press release is to proudly announce that local west Sonoma County lighting design company Liquid Light Productions has taken up management of the historic River Theater in Guerneville and to announce our first Music event.

Planet Drum To Tour Again

The Planet Drum 2006 Tour reunites Mickey Hart, Zakir Hussain, Sikiru Adepoju, and Giovanni Hidalgo for a September series of West Coast shows in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the ground-breaking album of that name.  Planet Drum was released in 1991 on the Rykodisc label and went on to earn the first-ever Grammy in the World Music category.  The tour is the groups first in almost a decade.  It also marks the resumption of an artistic relationship – between Mickey Hart and Zakir Hussain – that goes back to the late 1960s.

Send Grateful Web Your Jerry Pictures!

Thanks to Jann L for this picture! Jerry's coming back to the big island (Kona) after a day spent scuba diving. Jann told us Jerry could spend more time under water on one tank than any body else.

If you'd like to share your Jerry pictures, we'll be more than happy to tell your story too. Thanks for sharing, Jann!

thanks,

The Grateful Web meets The Grateful Dead...

Phil Lesh was in Denver autographing his new book, Searching for the Sound, and we were there to meet him.  The Tattered Cover hosted the event.  At least 500 on hand to have their books signed. Phil started autographing books around 7PM, 30 minutes early; no doubt the good crowd prompted this.  We were probably 200th on line and Phil was taking about 20 - 30 seconds chatting with most people.

Jammys Initial Performance Lineup

Phil Lesh will host this year''s Jammys.- for the Grateful Web

In year's past, such off-the-wall collaborations as rapper Slick Rick with the Disco Biscuits, The B-52's with Particle and Blue Oyster Cult with moe. have wowed sold-out audiences. In 2002, the concert-ending finale featured an all-star jam that included Trey Anastasio and Mike Gordon of Phish, Warren Haynes, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead, and Robert Randolph, among others. Hydra April 2005 Tour

Hydra on tour this spring!- for the Grateful Web

The Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart and Particle, a pioneering electronic/jam-rock band, have come together to form HYDRA. The new group will launch a 14-date tour, debuting their new sound nationwide, beginning April 7 in Santa Cruz, Calif. and ending on April 24 in Washington, DC

More info about HYDRA...

Mickey Hart is best known for his nearly three decades as an integral part of an extraordinary expedition into the soul and spirit of music, disguised as the rock and roll band the Grateful Dead. As half of the percussion tandem known as the Rhythm Devils, Mickey transcended the conventions of rock drumming. The extended polyrhythmic excursions were highlights of Grateful Dead shows, introducing the band's audience to an ever-growing arsenal of percussion instruments from around the world.

Since forming in the fall of 2000, Particle has enjoyed a transcendental rise on the national music scene. Their trademark 'funktronic' sounds combine elements of electronica, funk, and high powered rock and roll. Particle's momentum has been unprecedented since their introduction to the live music world nearly five years ago. With the recent release of their debut studio record "Launchpad", which was named one of the Top Ten Records of 2004 by the Associated Press, the band is poised to reach new heights. Their most recent accomplishments include tours of Europe and Japan, as well as shows at Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo and Burning Man Music Festivals.
