Truly one of America’s most influential and astute folk artists of all time, John Prine's prolific songbook is filled with hundreds of clever country-folk tunes both humorous and poignant. He performed about two dozen of those songs on May 23 to the visible delight of the sold-out crowd inside Folsom, California’s, Harris Center for the Arts.

John Prine’s acclaimed new album, The Tree of Forgiveness, is available today on vinyl. Pressed at Quality Record Pressing in Salina, KS, the record is available in standard 150 gram black as well as two limited edition versions: 180 gram translucent green (LTD 4000, available on tour and via Prine’s webstore/indie retail) and opaque yellow (LTD 500, available exclusively via Vinyl Me, Please).

“An American treasure came to the Tiny Desk and even premiered a new song,” NPR Music’s Bob Boilen declares. He continues, “John Prine is a truly legendary songwriter. For more than 45 years the 71-year-old artist has written some of the most powerful lyrics in the American music canon…Prine’s new songs are equally powerful…” Watch the full performance HERE.

There are very few treasures that arrive with a battered acoustic guitar and open up the windows on basic lives with passion and grace. But when John Prine hits the road, the darkest corners and smallest joys get illuminated by the light of his gravelly, utterly American voice, his way with the plainest of language and the vintage Guild and Martin guitars he plays.
