Matisyahu

Boy howdy! Sunday was an interesting close to Mulberry Mountain’s Wakarusa Festival! The day started out perfectly: nice weather, a good lineup and all around happytimes. I even got to interview The Infamous StringdustersAndy Falco and Travis Book! If you haven’t seen this band - do it.

A Rastafarian and a Hasidic Jew walk into a bar… It’s not the setup for a punch line, it’s just another night at a Matisyahu show. Where else can we go to see Yamakas and Dreadlocks in the same place? The fusion of the two cultures is everywhere at a Matisyahu show, and a huge following of fans have evolved from the musical blend of traditional Jewish themes, reggae, and hip-hop that he has created.

97.3 KBCO & Colorado Daily are proud to present Matisyahu at the Boulder Theater on Thursday, December 15th, 2011.  Tickets go on sale Saturday, September 24th for $25 in advance & $30.00 day of show.

Held for the first time this year at Bicentennial Park on Biscayne Bay, Langerado now calls Miami - one of the world's must cultural cities - home.  Today, festival organizers make an initial artist announcement to make the Magic City proud.  Death Cab For Cutie, Snoop Dogg, Ryan Adams & the Cardinals, Thievery Corporation (Live), Slightly Stoopid and Dashboard Confessional join Flogging Molly,

Known for his hip-hop and reggae style, Jewish musician Matisyahu's sold out show Sunday night at Boulder's Fox Theatre proved to have attracted far beyond the religious folk of his faith. While a considerable amount of Jewish families with women in their head dresses and men in their customary yarmulke could be spotted from among the crowd, the greater majority of the audience showed to be just as diverse as the musical genres in performance.

For 2009, the Langerado Music Festival moves to one of Miami's most scenic spots - Bicentennial Park on Biscayne Bay.  It's a new home for the seventh annual event, which will take place March 6-8, 2009; Langerado has enjoyed impressive success and growth in Broward County since 2002.  The move to downtown Miami promises to make Langerado a City Festival that the Magic City can truly call its own.

Today, the sixth annual Langerado Music Festival announces its initial artist lineup. The 2008 event takes place March 6–9, and will host R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Phil Lesh & Friends, 311, Matisyahu, Ani DiFranco, Ben Folds, The Roots, Thievery Corporation, Les Claypool, G.

Now in its sixth year, the Langerado Music Festival has established its place as the unofficial kickoff to music festival season.  For the sixth annual Langerado Music Festival, organizers are taking it to the next level and moving the event to the expansive Big Cypress Seminole Indian Reservation.  Since the inaugural event in 2003, Langerado has grown enormously from 3,500 in attendance at Fort Lauderdale Stadium, to 2007's hugely successful event at Markham Park, where turnout reached 15,000 people per day.

It's interesting that when you ask anyone from south Florida what the local music scene is like, most locals will reply 'What music scene?". Now don't get me wrong, there is a music scene that really caters to the jazz, Latin and blues world but nothing alternative or rock that really stood out and connected south Florida to the rest of the world since the days of the Hollywood Sportatorium that is until now Langerado.
