The Mother Hips

Singer-songwriter Tim Bluhm himself affirms below in this new interview with Grateful Web: “I never come up short when it comes to songs.” And It’d be really hard to discredit the man. The California-bred musician has been touring professionally for the better part of thirty years, many of those as the frontman for the legendary Mother Hips, but also during that time as a prolific individual artist, putting his unique mark on modern country.

Tim Bluhm is set to release his new full-length solo album, Sorta Surviving, on March 29, 2019. A gentle departure from his usual California-Soul sound of the Mother Hips, Sorta Surviving finds Bluhm living out his classic country musical dreams. Produced by Widespread Panic’s Dave Schools and anchored by all-star band members Jesse Aycock (guitar, vocals) and Jason Crosby (piano, violin, organ), and Nashville session legends Gene Chrisman (drums) and David Roe (bass), Bluhm’s new album was recorded at Cash Cabin Studios in He

Green Leaf Rustlers have announced ten shows in California this March. They'll also make their Alaska debut with a performance at Alyeska Resort in April.

Several Bay Area musicians who were already friends on and off the stage appeared together at The Fillmore in San Francisco on June 9 to spotlight Blue Rose Music’s stable of artists, and of more importance to raise money and awareness for the Blue Rose Foundation, which commits itself to preschool scholarships for impoverished children.

It’s been five years since beloved California-based rock band The Mother Hips released new music - and they certainly didn’t disappoint with latest single, “It’s Alright.”

The video for the song, released in late March, showcases the band’s notoriously close relationship with fans (who were encouraged to send clips of themselves for inclusion in the video) and offers a generous helping of adventure - something the band is known for.

Healed up and ready to propel their unique rock ‘n’ jamming “California Soul” sound into the future, The Mother Hips launched a two-night stand at Harlow’s in Sacramento in high fashion on December 29. With some new band personnel added to the mix, founding members Tim Bluhm, Greg Loiacono, and long-time drummer John Hofer fired on all cylinders over 20 songs to the appreciation of the enthusiastic 400-plus folks in the sold-out club, many of them self-professed loyal, long-time Mother Hips fans.

Greg Loiacono has made his living putting out music under a number of more recognizable names than his own, but a few weeks ago came his first full length solo LP titled Songs From A Golden Dream.

Greg Loiacono releases his solo album SONGS FROM A GOLDEN DREAM today. With 11 new songs by The Mother Hips co-founder, SONGS FROM A GOLDEN DREAM finds Loiacono delivering his boldest and most accomplished release to date. SONGS FROM A GOLDEN DREAM is a baroque, electric work that hums and spits with energy even in its quietest moments.
