TAUK

Instrumental rock-fusion onslaught TAUK have added even more dates to their already stacked 2016 winter/spring tour.

In Colorado there is an insatiable hunger for modern music. Bars, clubs and venues are taping into that hunger by offering shows in genres that in years past would have been met with rebuke and dislike. However it is clear that times have changed. TAUK as a band represent those changes.

On Wednesday, October 7, Oyster Bay, NY based four-piece progressive jam band TAUK brought their unique blend of funky instrumental grooves to Grand Rapids, MI.

The Stache, located inside the front room of The Intersection in the heart of downtown, is an incredibly intimate venue for such an explosive band.

Two regional bands, Pleasant Drive out of Kalamazoo, MI and recent Grand Rapids transplant Desmond Jones kicked the evening off, each drawing a growing fanbase to the venue for a full house Wednesday evening.

In anticipation of TAUK's upcoming shows, Grateful Web picked the brain of keyboard magician, Alric “A.C.” Carter.

Grateful Web: Hi Alric, Thanks for taking some time to talk with me. I really appreciate it.

GW: First off you just dropped a new live album on 1320 records titled “HEADROOM.” Can you talk a little bit about why you decided to put out a live record vs. a studio album?

TAUK, arguably the hottest instrumental prog-fusion quartet out of New York City, know how to close the summer parties right. After spending the summer hitting the festival circuit and playing some of the countries largest venues, including the opening spot at the sold out Umphrey’s McGee appearance at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO in July.

I’ve recently had the pleasure of listening to TAUK’s new double live album “HEADROOM”.  You can find it September 3rd on as an exclusive 24-hour pre-release on 1320 records. As its namesake evokes, “HEADROOM” is a visceral and introspective album. Teeming with emotion and all expressed without the use of lyrics I found myself really “feeling” this album.

After a summer of appearances at some of America’s largest music festivals and a recent sold-out performance at Atlanta’s Terminal West, the Oyster Bay, New York quartet TAUK is proud to announce the release of their new dual-disc album, HEADROOM. Known for their explosive live performances, the album showcases tracks from the heavy instrumental rock-fusion onslaught recorded during their 2015 non-stop touring schedule.

They were all there. All of the things that make a show great.  Not just the music but the people, the atmosphere, the place, the time. It’s a unique time to be taking part in Musical history. Electronic music rules the club, the theater, TV and everywhere in between.  The era of the D.J. I’ve heard it called. However there is another group of people. Not rebelling against culture, not fighting the times, simply being different for difference sake.

PardeePalooza is an annual music and camping festival at State Bridge Amphitheater in Bond, CO (just outside of Vail, CO) to honor Tony Pardee Seibert who sadly passed in an avalanche last January, 2014 in the East Vail Chutes.
