On Tour

Technicolor Tone Factory | Boulder Theater | Review

Technicolor Tone Factory…  Say it out loud.  Just once.  Let it roll languidly off your tongue.  Feels good, doesn’t it?  The pleasing alliteration of their name is only the start of the feel good vibes this band is emitting.  Technicolor Tone Factory (or TTF) played a fun, high-energy show to a pulsating, sweaty crowd on July 21, 2012 at the Boulder Theater that lived up to the promise of their highly sensory name.

Disco Biscuits Live in Atlantic City | Review & Photos

After some time off, the long awaited Summer 2012 Disco Biscuits tour is finally here, and over already. It was a very small tour (3 shows plus a festival) that culminated at Camp Bisco this past weekend with a series of talented artists like: Bassnectar, Skrillex, Amon Tobin, and Crystal Castles.

Victor Wooten Band live @ the Boulder Theater

Anyone that knows anything about soul music knows that it’s not a genre or a categorization, but a feeling. Sometimes Rhythm and Blues, Motown, or Funk will all get associated with soul music, but usually isn’t a defining element of a specific sound or mode of playing. It is what it describes: coming from the soul. So when you take an artist like Victor Wooten, soul would not be the first “buzz word” that comes to mind. Virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist, genre bending, five time Grammy Award Winner.

Drop the Lime | 'Enter The Night' | New Music Review

With a thick bass line and a dance club worthy beat (sans the cheesy lyrics and pop atmosphere), Drop the Lime created a deep and dark sensual album. DJ Luca Venezia is the New York City-based singer-songwriter and producer. His deep voice resonates throughout the album bringing each sound together into this wonderful collection of songs.

Thurston Moore | Boulder Theater | 6/27/12 | Review & Photos

Thurston Moore is an innovator; he’s the type of musician who has seemingly never had a box to think inside of.

As a child of the eighties and a huge fan of all of Karl Denson’s projects, this show was a must see for me.

Dandy Warhols | Showbox | Seattle, WA | Review

Thunderous oscillations expand violently from center stage, miraculously freed from a vintage Moog chipset only to be captured by my outer pinna, which sends the tone swirling inward toward the depths of my cochlea. The synthetic drone weaves through a latticework of scenestirs and technocrats occupying Seattle's Showbox Theater this evening. Ensuing layers of tonal stew self-oscillate, self-sustain, and self-evolve into an overwhelming muck that rattles the cinderblock before receding back toward its creator.
