Ziggy Marley, the 49-year-old son of legendary reggae superstar Bob Marley and Rita Marley, has been playing reggae music for longer than his father was alive. At Ziggy's well-attended "Rebellion Rises" show at Thalia Hall, a diverse crowd showed their appreciation for Ziggy's newest material, songs from Ziggy's earlier solo albums, a song from his previous group Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers, and of course several Bob Marley anthems.
Stephen and Ziggy Marley came to the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles on November 1, to perform a unique concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of their fathers classic Reggae album, Exodus. The ornate venue in the heart of the original theater district of America’s movie capital was slow to fill up on this sultry night. It was the final night of the World Series of Baseball, just several miles away at Dodger Stadium and the band delayed the show for nearly an hour.
Julian Marley will join his brothers Stephen, Ziggy, Damian and Ky-Mani in a historic performance for first time in more than 20 years at the first ever Kaya Fest. Produced by eight-time Grammy award-winner, singer, songwriter, musician producer and son of legend Bob Marley, Stephen Marley, the Kaya Fest will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Bayfront Park Amphitheatre, 301 Biscayne Blvd. in downtown Miami.
