One Million fans and counting will be part of the most celebrated music event of the past few decades when the tour of the summer kicks off on Thursday, June 23 in Detroit!  Guns N' Roses launched their return in spectacular fashion beginning with the Troubadour in Los Angeles on April 1 for their first live performance in more than 20 years followed by back-to-back arena shows in Vegas filling the house to the rafters, then Coachella for two weekends (April 16 and April 23) including a trip south of the border for two sold out stadium shows in Mexico on April 19-20...April saw almost a half million fans alone in North America!  Guns N' Roses' are Axl Rose, Duff McKagan (bass), Slash (lead guitar), Dizzy Reed (keyboard), Richard Fortus (rhythm guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums), and Melissa Reese (keyboard).

Following the group's 1985 formation, Guns N' Roses injected unbridled, unrivaled, and unstoppable attitude into the burgeoning Los Angeles rock scene. The spirit went on to captivate the entire world with the release of their 1987 debut Appetite for Destruction -the best-selling U.S. debut ever, moving 30 million copies globally.  In 1991, the seven-time platinum Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II occupied the top two spots of the Billboard Top 200 upon release. Over the course of the past decade, Guns N' Roses have performed sold out shows and headlined festivals worldwide following the critically acclaimed release of 2008's RIAA platinum-certified Chinese Democracy. Six studio albums later, Guns N' Roses are one of the most important and influential acts in music history and continue to set the benchmark for live performances connecting with millions of fans across the globe.

Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley announces a partnership with Colorado-based cannabis leader, Tru Cannabis, for the brand new Stony Hill dispensary in Denver.

An organically grown partnership, the Stony Hill brand reflects Damian's style and goes beyond just the product line. This is a full retail dispensary brand where the artist's inimitable presence can be immediately felt. He personally helped develop and test the dispensary's namesake and signature-Stony Hill- and it is evocative of his music, passions, and roots.

While many artists have attached and licensed their names to products as part of today's cannabis renaissance, Marley's partnership marks the first true alliance between an artist and dispensary.  In addition, this news is the first in a series of announcements Damian Marley plans to make this year regarding partnerships and business deals in the cannabis world.

The Stony Hill dispensary officially launches on September 22nd. To properly kick off the partnership, Damian will host an exclusive grand opening brand launch party that evening:

The Field House

1630 North Federal Blvd

Denver, CO 80204

2016 is already shaping up to be one of Damian's busiest years yet. His anxiously awaited fourth full-length studio album, Stony Hill, will arrive in stores and at all digital retailers early next year. Its first single "Nail Pon Cross" has just been released and is already picking up momentum in the streets. Watch the thought provoking music video HERE. Today, he kicks off the "Road to Stony Hill" fall club tour on September 16 in Allston, MA at Brighton Music Hall. The full itinerary is included below.

GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum hip-hop icons The Roots and artist Bilal will be performing “It Ain’t Fair”  TONIGHT on Late Night With Seth Meyers. The original song is a standout on the critically acclaimed motion picture DETROIT soundtrack.

“'It Ain't Fair' was designed to emphasize the importance of social justice through the prism of late-sixties Detroit, which means many things culturally and politically, and also certain things musically. Music has the power to express both anguish and hope,” explains The Roots drummer and producer Questlove.

From Kathryn Bigelow, two-time Academy Award®- winning director of THE HURT LOCKER and ZERO DARK THIRTY, and Annapurna Pictures, DETROIT captures one of the most terrifying events during the riots that took place over five tumultuous summer days in 1967. The DETROIT Original Motion Picture Soundtrack captures light amidst one of America’s darkest times by illuminating the power at the heart of the Motown, Detroit, and late sixties cultures all at once. It’s the sound of change in the face of oppression and a moment of revolution brought to life in song and on screen.

ABOUT THE ROOTS

The legendary Roots Crew have become one of the best known and most respected hip-hop acts in the business, winning four GRAMMYS, including “Best R&B Album” for Wake Up!, “Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance” for “Hang in There” (with John Legend) and “Best Group or Duo R&B Vocal Performance” for “Shine.” This brings the band’s GRAMMY nomination count to twelve. Additionally, “The Roots Picnic,” a yearly star-studded mix of musicians, has become a celebrated institution. The Roots were named one of the greatest live bands around by Rolling Stone and serve as the official house band on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Most recently, The Roots announced that they are developing an animated children’s series, along with a live action children’s series, in partnership with Amazon.
