So, what makes Serenity Gathering 2016 so special? There are a million festivals out there. Why should we take a chance on this relatively new & different festival?

The first two years of a festival are absolutely essential for molding a community and determining who is really dedicated. Serenity Gathering is proud to be entering year three with a fully committed family right next to us. Everyone who has gone to Serenity Gathering before has most likely experienced the undeniable sense of community, feeling of oneness, and loving vibes. Now, that we have worked through most of the organizational kinks, we are ready to take everything to an entire new level in 2016.

This year we are at a new location in Southern California and just like year one in 2014 we are back at a beautiful lake! The new lake-side location is surrounded by mountains, close to both Los Angeles & San Diego, and creates an intimate nature setting. At this new location, Serenity is excited to build an interactive space where people can co-create and live freely. If you enjoyed the custom art installations and attention to artistic details in the past, then just get ready for this year! The directors are working tirelessly to provide an experience that will leave you with a new sense of appreciation for life. In order to do this, we have hand picked an eclectic team of unique individuals to curate every minute of Serenity Gathering 2016. From the moment you enter the gates, till the moment you leave, we want you feeling euphoric! However, as you probably know, a festival’s magic is difficult to explain with words. The only way to actually feel the magic is to attend. So take the leap of faith and join us again for year 3!  Hope to see you on March 17th-20th weekend!

They say the only thing in life that is constant is change

With that in mind, we are here to inform you that due to circumstances out of our control Serenity Gathering 2016 will not be happening at Lake Hemet Campground. We fulfilled all legal responsibilities on our end, but unfortunately Lake Hemet still pulled the location from underneath our feet.

As you can probably imagine, it was quite the scramble to search for a new location. We wanted to make sure the new spot was on par to Lake Hemet, or better. We are confident that that we have found that place. Without further ado, we are proud to announce that Joshua Tree Retreat Center will be Serenity Gathering's home for 2016!

Boogaloo Music and Art Car Festival started as a small family fathering in Lake Elsinore on top of a mountain for a birthday party for one of the founding members of the Dirty Beetles. It was set up again the following year as a fundraiser to build an art project for Burning Man. This even was such a success, the Dirty Beetles decided to expand and create a multi stage music festival and camp out at the former home of Lightning in a Bottle, Oak Canyon Park.

Boogaloo infuses the love of art and yoga with music in a family style environment. With huge headliners like DJ Dan, Tropkillaz, J Phlip, Christian Martin, Stylust Beats, House of Vibe, everyone’s bound to have a good time.

Boogaloo brings a vibrant and interactive experience of Music and Art, all of which is being created by the participants. Visual stimulations, like art cars and collaborative painting installations will be featured on the ground of Boogaloo. There are live painters creating new works that represent those special defining moments in time. We even have a Los Angeles based Art production group showcasing their amazing art vehicle, Charlie the Unicorn Art Car. There are also different areas where attendees are able to relax through a variety of yoga styles both playful and activating.

The combination of top notch live music, art cars, live painting, camping, workshops, yoga, local vending, kids zones, and more will create a one of a kind experience for people of all ages, so don’t miss out!

Set amidst the towering California Redwoods on the banks of the Eel River sits Northern Nights Music Festival, slated this summer for the weekend of July 15-17, 2016. Labeled as, “Not Your Cookie Cutter Festival,” the 4thyear team behind NNMF has again curated a trendsetting lineup of international, national and local musical talent.

Kicking off the weekend will be a headlining performance by Gorgon City, the UK based live dance act that has spent the last two years touring almost every corner of the world. Friday night will also feature an unforeseen appearance by Amon Tobin, presenting his thought provoking Two Fingers project.  The saxophone funk god Griz will be making his very anticipated trip back to the Emerald Triangle on Saturday night, alongside The Knocks, fresh off the release of their chart topping album “55”.  The weekend will close out with Claptone’s elusive ‘Immortal Live’ set, accompanied by one of the most sought after trap producers in the industry, Troyboi, as well as the Bay Area’s voice of the people, Boots Riley, leading the legendary hiphop-infused funk band, The Coup.

Northern Nights’ signature showcase of noteworthy and rising stars will include SNBRN, Machinedrum, XYLØ, Stephen, NoMBe, Prince Fox, MoonzZ, Slumberjack, Daktyl, D∆WN, and Teklife, as well as West Coast festival staples Sugarbeats, Govinda & Lafa Taylor. A special treat awaits those lucky enough to stumble into the festival’s eclectic Grove Stage, which will feature Humboldt’s own Object Heavy, electro-rock bandBeautiful Machines and the soulful return of Horses Heaven. Staying true to its tropical bass roots, NNMF plans to breathe fuego onto the dance floor with the additions of Deejay Theory, Yungg Trip, Subsuelo and Pressure Anya.  All 4 amplified stages will once again feature state of the art VOID Acoustics sound complimented by Hush Concerts’ most talked about all night Silent Disco.

For those who have been before, it is well known that music is only the beginning of the NNMF experience: from floating lazily along the South Fork Eel River and engaging in jaw-dropping art activations, to mindfulyoga in the redwoods and rejuvenating hot cedar showers, this festival offers a plethora of adventures and creature comforts to fit any of your “in the moment” needs.

If NNMF 2015 was any sign of what’s to come, rest assured that the team is expecting a sold out event in 2016. Three-day tickets are now on sale, with a limited number available at $259 for General Admission and $349 for VIP. Riverfront camping is free with any ticket purchase. Upgrades, including RV, car camping, and reserved Grove camping are available for purchase in advance. Not a camper? NNMF has partnered with Unity Travel to offer near-by hotel options with door-to-door shuttle service.

Is it summer yet?!

Set just off the banks of the Licking Fork River in Willseyville, CA, among awe inspiring redwoods, Organic Festival provides a top-notch festival line-up in a sustainably beautiful and intimate setting.  We set out this year with one idea in mind, to provide the best 3 day, 2 night camping, dancing, bass filled, talented, and love filled experience this side of the Mississippi, and we are happy to say that we passed even our own expectations.  So without further ado- We present to you the full lineup for Organic Music Festival 2016.

  • Liquid Stranger - Swedish-born electronic musician, described by Generation Bass as "the epitome of Transnational Dubstep" covering everything from Latin, Asian, Eastern European and Jamaican Dancehall dubs. Martin Stääf is known for his experimental approach to composition where he merges genres to create a unique style of music. He is known for making crowds across the country booty pop and get low, producing some of the sickest beats in the biz. Rooting from his obsession with drums as a child, the producer works "emotive melodies, bass drops and intricate drum patterns" into his music.
  • Antennae - An*Ten*Nae is one of San Francisco’s most sought after DJs and live performers. He has taken the art of live remixing to new heights with his own customized setup that bends genres in ways seldom heard. His sound is called Acid Crunk, and there are no rules, no restraints in its quest for a pure sound that is not homogenized.

For the first time ever, Pismocean presents an experience as musically savvy as it is exciting. The only thing more intoxicating than kicking your feet out on the beach, stretching your toes through the sand, and spending time around those that you care about, is flailing around in a crowd of hundreds of friends and strangers to music that will rock your world. All this, while still at an alluring beach destination. This November 4th-6th, 35+ artists will be performing, on two different stages, at the beautiful Oceano State Dunes for a music marathon that is sure to make you love the beach even more.

Pismocean has spent many months curating a lineup of internationally known DJ’s and artists who have proven themselves experts in their craftsmanship. While many festivals focus on having and perfecting a certain sound, this premier event includes many different genres of music without sacrificing any of the quality. This guarantees that there will be music fitted for anyone and everybody attending. If you have a busy weekend on the weekend of Nov. 4th, you better start canceling plans now because Pismo Music Festival’s debut is sure to be one for the books.

Even with this year’s hefty roster, the minds behind the festival are committed to organization, safety, and world-class production, so that everyone who comes out will be sure to experience the historic and renowned ambiance that the Central Coast has to offer. In order to preserve the area, the Pismocean Music Festival is going green this year so remember to clean up after yourself, enjoy our solar-powered charging stations, and most importantly have a fantastic and mind-opening experience.

Artist Spotlight:

Lee Burridge - At the top of London’s powerhouse talent, Burridge and his acid house sound have been gracing the ears of fans for 10+ years. This multi-talented musician is notorious for his unique sound, impeccable producing talents, and his stunning Burning Man performances. Watching Burridge is something you do not want to miss!

Gunslinger - A group of fantastic DJs, artists and producers emerging from the Los Angeles deep electro scene. Though their music is labeled electro it is very unique and incorporates many different genres into an upbeat, energetic sound.

DAVI - Pismocean is proud to demonstrate to Southern California what it truly means to dance - DAVI, a LA local, is an artist that helps us meet this goal. With splashes of classic rock influence, Davi’s genre-defying electronic sound makes it impossible to stand still. Known for his dark, yet melodic, beats DAVI has build a strong local following and has been playing venues all around the United States, sharing a piece of LA for those of us not lucky to be living there.

Lee Reynolds - Having performed his whole life, Lee Reynolds insists that dance music be uppity and fun, but very spiritual at the same time. This Desert Heart’s staple got his beginnings through west coast groups, such as Moontribe, Moonshake and LiB. Reynolds has been obsessed with rave culture since its UK roots in the late 80s. His passion and love of the genre shows within his music - “When I DJ, I want people to feel ecstatic, in a zone, in the moment, like the only thing that matters is the dance,” he says. What could possibly be better than a performer whose whole life and passion is making people dance?

Soluzion - Based out of Tobanga Canyon, Soluzion displays genre-mixing at the most radical and expert level possible. The multi-instrument band fuzes soul, funkadelic, and psychedelic rock in a way that is surprising but cohesive all at the same time! With Hendrix-like riffs and suave latin stylings, Soluzion always delivers great entertainment.

In October of 2015, over two thousand patrons, creators, and musicians took to the streets of downtown Santa Cruz, making the third iteration of our event the most successful one yet. While we were pleased with the outcome, we realized that with the lessons we've learned and all the dedicated Santa Cruz businesses, bands, and supporters we've got on our side-We were now able to build the most diabolical musical extravaganza this side of the San Lorenzo, so we did.  This year we’ve upped the ante and have planned a full-blown sonic takeover of the historic downtown area, linking together 12+ downtown Santa Cruz venues for a two-day musical marathon.   Just like the past three festivals, SCMF has passionately and carefully curated a lineup of internationally known acts as well as hard-hitting local Santa Cruz and Bay Area artists. We’ve got more than 250+ bands, acts, and performers distributed over 15 stages inside the best and brightest downtown venues-  bringing nothing but the highest quality of music & entertainment.  Even with this year’s hefty roster, the minds behind the festival are committed to organization, safety, and world-class production, so that everyone who comes out will experience the historic and electric ambiance of downtown Santa Cruz like they never have before.

We are absolutely honored to announce our first wave of performers who we feel represent the level of live experience, the wide range of musical talents, and community presence that our festival seeks to expose our audience to. Without further ado, we give you the first wave of SCMF 2017’s Performing Artists.

Santa Cruz Music Festival's Announcement Video

First Wave Headliners:

TroyBoi - One of South East London's most closely guarded secrets has recently emerged from the shadows and is set to take the music industry by storm. Known only as TroyBoi, this multi-talented musician specializes in extraordinarily unique, versatile, and highly musical tracks that fuse various textures from multiple genres and brands it as 'My Style'. TroyBoi is without a doubt one of the top up-and-coming producers in the game right now

TroyBoi's SoundCloud

Louis The Child - In the rapidly expanding EDM industry, producer/DJ duo Louis The Child has been on the rise. Members Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, natives of Chicago, have seen recent success with their new single “It’s Strange” and their subsequent national tour. The duo has become very popular despite their young ages — Hauldren is a freshman majoring in music industry and Kennett is still in high school. However, Louis The Child often performs in clubs they would otherwise not even be old enough to enter. In April, the duo will complete their first national tour with performances at Coachella.

Louis The Child's SoundCloud

G Jones - Rounding out the first wave of announcements is hometown hero and Santa Cruz’s worst kept secret - G Jones. Few artist of electron genera sounds quite the same as G Jones. Site influence as Epormm, Bossnector, JD Shadow Carmack, as part as rich music community internet culture, Jones taking to the next sound a sense of fresh breath air.” The first few lines of G-Jones self-penned biography not only clue you into his influences, but also his unique sense of humor and way of setting himself apart from the sea of indistinguishable personalities in the EDM world. G-Jones cut his teeth in the fiercely competitive clubs and renegades of Santa Cruz’s talent heavy music scene, making a name for himself and following in the steps of artists like Getter and Bassnectar. Simply describing him as EDM or Trap wouldn't do justice to the unique and entertainingly intricate sounds and samples he uses in his bass heavy, and just plain slimy tracks.  He's a true representation of the awesomely weird side of Santa Cruz’s music scene, and is truly an act that needs to be seen to be appreciated.

G Jones's SoundCloud

The Brothers Comatose -The first group representing The Bay Area are SF darlings Brothers Comatose.  The 5-piece string band consists of two brothers, a masterful bass player, and even some mandolin.  Their sounds is a masterful combination of Americana, classic rock, and bluegrass that  all adds up to an electrifyingly old school live performance-with some contemporary flavor.

We’ve already announced five electrifying artists for the Santa Cruz Music Festival 2017 lineup, such as Louis the Child, Troyboi, G Jones, The Grouch and The Brothers Comatose. As if these acts weren’t enough to solidify two nights of exhilarating, body shaking entertainment, we went and booked plenty more incredible acts. SCMF has established a reputation for carefully selecting and curating nationally known acts as well as well-known local groups and bands, but this year we are outdoing ourselves. Our second announcement includes many incredible artists including The M Machine, The Coffis Brothers, Clozee, The Frogman Experience, Planet Booty, Slow Season, Treeherder, PartyWave, JINCO, and much more.

Not only are we proud to bring these excellent acts to the stages of Santa Cruz, but SCMF is offering even more stages (12+ stages) this year. SCMF is proud to include San Lorenzo Park to our list of venues. San Lorenzo Park will be the staple of community for SCMF, helping to express how much we would like to give back to the community as an event. Booths will be set up for Nonprofits and NGOs to spread awareness for their local companies. Other fun-for-all-ages events will be included at the park such as yoga, hullahooping, face-painting, and other community, fair activities. Throughout the past years we have established ourselves as fantastic entertainment providers, but this year we want to make sure that the whole family has a chance to participate and enjoy the incredible city of Santa Cruz.

The M Machine - From San Francisco, The M Machine provides an upbeat, house experience that is sure to get the crowd moving. Unlike other house groups, however, The M Machine does a fantastic job at incorporating beautiful, melodic breakdowns. Their recent EP, “Just Like” proves The M Machine is a hyper-creative duo that is here to stay.

Facebook - Soundcloud - Youtube

The Coffis Brothers - These rock and rollers stay true to their name, growing up and maturing in the mountains of Santa Cruz. Their songwriting shows how much they enjoy classic rock artists such as Tom Petty, Neil Young, and the Beatles. The most exciting part, however, is that The Coffis Brothers have successfully put a fresh and modern twist on the sounds of bygone era artists.

Facebook - Soundcloud - Youtube

CloZee - Residing in France, this electronic, ethno-fusion artist has won many awards for her unique style. Among these awards is the “Best International Newcomer of 2013” UK Glitch-Hop Award. Her music takes listeners on a journey through dance-oriented rhythms and worldly, tribal beats. A fan can never know what to expect with her next release other than, this is going to be awesome.

Facebook - Soundcloud

The Frogman Experience - Residing out of Santa Cruz, The Frogman Experience guarantees a fun night, lots of laughs and a room full of dancing.

Facebook - Soundcloud

Planet Booty - The electro-funk sounds of Planet Booty originated out of Oakland. Frontman, Dylan Charles Germick, preaches lyrics of self-love and positivity, but one wouldn’t know it because they are too busy dancing their ass off in the crowd. The genre-defying group of musicians are known for bringing so much energy to the stage that it is impossible to see them live and not become an instant fan.

Facebook - Soundcloud - Youtube

Slow Season - When listening to Slow Season it is easy to forget which era you are in. Bringing back classic rock influences, the band out of Visalia, CA throws a modern twist on songs that we throw on when we want to reminisce.

Facebook - Soundcloud

Treeherder - Treeherder is a local “stoner-metal” group that has been taking the metal music scene of Santa Cruz by storm. Having played the major venues of Santa Cruz, multiple times they have grown quite some fan base here in the Santa Cruz area. They have currently released a demo and are waiting to drop the finished album. They are masters of anticipation.

Facebook - Soundcloud

PartyWave - As one of the largest emerging artists in West Coast Bass music, PartyWave is an innovative machine that is merging the classical bass music with melodic influences and touches. PartyWave

Facebook - Soundcloud

JINCO - With an astounding, cinematic sound, JINCO’s music is truly an experience. As one of the more successful musicians to come out of Santa Cruz in the recent few years, JINCO has tracks that have been listened to over a million times on SoundCloud and when you listen to his music, it is obvious why.

Santa Cruz Music Festival 2017’s 2nd wave line-up shook the Central-Bay Area but the 3rd and final announcement is here and you might want to sit down for this one. Among the new wave is Zion-I, Monolink, Scarub, Charlesthefirst, Ancestree, Dreaming Ghosts and many more.

Not only are we proud to bring these excellent acts to the stages of Santa Cruz, but SCMF is offering even more stages (17+ stages) this year. SCMF is proud to include San Lorenzo Park to our list of venues. Organic Fest returns to the Blue Mountain Event Center this August 11, 12 and 13, rage with us in the space between treble and bass! Set in the verdant mountains of Calaveras County just three hours out from San Francisco, Organic Fest is an intimate experience unlike any other camping music festival.

The organizers—Organic Events, Flatline Events, Euphoric Styles, Modern Illusion and Antidote Events—have collaborated with the grassroots leaders of the Cali festy scene to handcraft you an thumping bass experience.

Tickets are still available—now at $150 and will jump to $160 at the Box Office—this year's headliners are Paper Diamond, Mount Eden, Bleep Bloop, CloZee, Mistah Fab  and over forty other artists.

Bring your friends if they're down with the subs, our Festival Family pack includes four tickets and a car camping pass for $450.

Organic Fest bloomed fully in its' first year, this year the organizers have tighter their verdant vision into a sharper focus.

Our goal is to bring everyone into a family gathering before the mainstage. Organic believes when there's too many sides offered, it distracts from the juicy main course.

Organic will feature two stages, the Main Stage and our Side Stage.

Trust us, this year's Main Stage is dripping with the best of Cali Bass.

Side Stage music starts at 12pm and at 7pm the mainstage kicks off while all the Side Stage winds down. The Main Stage will rage until 7am.

Whoever dances the full 57 hours at Organic is the Marathon Master!

A plethora of artistic talent is attending, featuring grandiose live art and a swath of vendor installations. Support local a craftsperson, find the latest fest-fashions at our vendor row.

Another new installation is our featured bar which will serve locally brewed beers, premium liquors and mix-drinks until 2am. At 2am, the bar will convert to a delicious snack lounge serving tea and coffee until 10 am.

If you want to escape the bass trap, there will be a newly installed chill-zone called the "Healing Center" where the weary can enjoy cold refreshments, candle-lit massages, soothing tea and mellow music can be enjoyed from the comfort of our cozy pillows and fuzzy blankets. The "Healing Center" will remain open during the other stages' hours and is a great place to catch your breath or just catch up with friends.

Catch and Release fishing is welcome again this year, please respect our no barbed hooks policy.

Please bring you brightest totems decked out in neon and phosphorescent paints, our photographers will find you and Instagram will love you.

Paper Diamond — Starting on the violin and working his way through traditional guitar, bass and drums—Alexander Botwin better known as Paper Diamond—has run the musical gauntlet. His experience with traditional instruments, recording and producing paid off in 2010 when he was signed to Pretty Lights' label, Pretty Lights Music.

What's really unique about his set is the light show, each night it's entirely improvised on-stage. Paper Diamond controls his light show though an I-pad that is syncs two laptops together, one running Ableton the other his light program, are you excited for rain drops of specter light?

Mt Eden — The New Zealand Dubstep duo—Jesse Cooper and Harly Rayner—started as a hip hop mix collaboration. After attending several New Zealand EDM festivals, Cooper had a change of heart, changed his EQ and started a YouTube channel named "MtEdenDnB08," named after his home, Mt. Eden. Around 2010 Cooper teamed up with Ryan and renamed the group to Mt Eden. Since then it's only been a steady upward climb, Mt Eden is signed to Ultra Music.

Catch their set and be transported around the world to the rainforests of Sierra Leon without ever leaving our Blue Mountain canopy of California Redwoods.

Bleep Bloop — Scrambled club beats are a trademark Bleep Bloops' sound. Musical Scrabble, take anything, everything, warp it with some way-out phasers and grimey trap beats and your fingernails are just starting to scratch the surface.

Just make sure you don't break your fingers while fist-pumping to his sure to be thumping set.

CloZee —Clozee is just one of our many artists from abroad. Hailing from France Chloé Herry—better known as CloZee—brings her bold flavor of worldly inspired subs and dubs. Equally at home on the mixing console and classical guitar, CloZee brings her masterful artistic aesthetic to our scenic Organic setting, serenity is sure ensue.

Will you take off with Clozee and soar through our overgrowth canopy, sky's the limit afterall.

Mistah F.A.B. — What kind of Bay Area inspired event would exclude tribute to Bay Area Hip Hop? Bringing Mistah Fab to Organic is just the start of a larger tradition in the works. As Organic grows we want to bring you the best artists from across genres.

F.A.B. is just the MC to push the boundaries, bringing you closer to the Bay's Hyphy history.

The multi-platinum writer and MC—Stanley Cox—goes by the acronym "Money Is Something To Always Have — FaEva Afta Bread." F.A.B. rose to notoriety after spotlighting on a series of Mac Dre 'Thizz Nation' mixtapes.

F.A.B. might have two Mazerattis but he's also put some of his bread to good use as a community activist.

Are you ready to join our unique grassroots music family? Lay your roots at Organic Fest, a festival made by fans for the fans.

In celebration of its fifth anniversary, Serenity Gathering migrates to Northern California for the first time ever on April 27th-29th, 2018, transplanting its roots to California’s most beloved campground, Woodward Reservoir. Positive collaboration, dynamic art and a spectacular showcase of renowned beat selectors will descend upon the site to create an ethereal playground for participants to free their mind, body and spirit. Mindfully planned to coincide with the full moon rising in Scorpio, a signifier of the time to recognize the power of imagination, the creators of Serenity Gathering invite participants to move beyond the confines of ordinary life into an illuminating world ripe with possibility.

An all-encompassing collective of talent orchestrates the soundscape for the celestial anniversary, including psychedelic dub master Ott, otherworldly Australian producer Kalya Scintilla and electronic Americana trio Dirtwire, whose futuristic sound beautifully contrasts that of fellow headliner Stylust Beats and his signature counterculturalist dubstep. An incredibly rare live band performance from Bay Area hip hop legends Zion I will bring their timeless sound to life on stage, adding another layer to the diverse soundtrack.

Recently announced, Phase 3 of the dynamic roster include former secret headliner, one of the most talked about artists in bass music today, boss man G Jones, who will make Serenity Gathering the only California festival he plays this spring. Also catch TLZMN, CharlesTheFirst, Pure Powers, plus many more!

This year, the festival will pull from its vibrant past as it progresses into an extraordinary future to deliver singular experiences throughout the weekend. Playing a pivotal role since Serenity’s humble beginnings, leading lunar ambassadors of Moontribe return once again to host a Full Moon Takeover, electrifying the dancefloor under the glow of the full moon. Also planned is a heartfelt tribute to whimsical soul Pumpkin, whose lasting impact is still felt throughout the community. Serenity Gathering is known as the last festival Pumpkin played before his untimely passing, and, in honoring his legacy during the gathering’s milestone year, the very special tribute will feature live music, DJ sets, painting and dance classes for acorns of all ages.

In years past, Serenity Gathering has roamed the landscape of California, touching hearts everywhere from the rolling hills of Santa Barbara, south to San Diego and then to Joshua Tree. Entering its fifth year, the beloved conscious gathering has taken over the infinite space of Woodward Reservoir, expanding their festival offerings to include comfortable temperatures, serene waters and an easily accessible route from all corners of California. The gathering is working directly with the local community to establish a permanent residency atop the sprawling grounds for attendees to enjoy for many years to come.

The sacred grounds of Woodward Reservoir and attendees alike will be blessed by the divine High Priestess of Bali Ida Resi Alit who will offer daily water blessings and preside over the Official Closing Ceremony, cementing the Serenity Gathering’s fifth anniversary as a sublime piece of festival history.

Breathtaking views and pristine waters await as Serenity Gathering guides venturers on an intimate, mystical journey unlike any other of its kind. Join Serenity Gathering as it embarks on its fifth year anniversary — Purchase tickets here and RSVP to stay in the loop on upcoming announcements.
