Hot off a Midwest and Colorado run, Boston’s own The Jauntee are once again touring the East Coast this Summer. The dynamic, improvisational quartet have been stacking up the miles over the last few tours and this one is no different. The Jauntee will see return dates at venues like American Beauty in NYC, The Camel in Richmond, and Aisle 5 in Atlanta, and a bi-weekly residency in July at The 8x10 in Baltimore. The band’s long awaited return to Florida and a late-night set at this year’s Peach Festival have also been announced. Perhaps most exciting and close to home,  The Jauntee will play a 2-night stand at The Bridge Sound and Stage in Cambridge which will be a live recording session for their follow up album to last year’s Excelsior.

Hailing from Boston and as graduates of Berklee School of Music, The Jauntee have solidified a dedicated following through playing staple venues across the country and several national festivals including Catskill Chill, Disc Jam, Peach Fest and more. The band is perhaps more widely recognized for their relentless and extensive touring schedule which has resulted in sold out shows on the East Coast, across the Midwest, and as far West as Colorado. A focus on live improvisation, setlist variety, and musical exploration means every show is different from the last, truly making The Jauntee a live act to see again and again.

Drawing influence from a wide variety of acts, The Jauntee's improvisational landscape spans multiple genres, from rock and jazz all the way to bluegrass, psychedelic, and ambient. Their willingness to explore genres, abandon all song structure, and dive into 'the weird' sets them apart from the average upcoming jam band. They aim to push the boundaries of improvisation, embrace the moment and engage the audience. With a quickly growing loyal fanbase, an ever-expanding song catalog and an inclination for open ended improvisation, The Jauntee promises to deliver a unique experience.

The Jauntee have announced a release date for their forthcoming album, Always Never Knowing. Over the last few years, the improvisational foursome have grown notorious for being cross-country road warriors on what seems like a never ending tour. In an attempt to mirror that live experience, the band went into the studio last year in their hometown of Boston to record a new album in front of an intimate live audience. The idea was to produce something special for their fans as well as to showcase their improvisational chops on a studio quality record boasting nine unreleased tracks. The Jauntee have announced a pre-order coming soon and will be releasing a slew of tour dates to coincide with their Northeast run supporting Leftover Salmon and festival appearances (Wormtown, Resonance) this coming fall.

In a world filled with instant gratification, gimmicky over saturation and a lack of true improvisation, The Jauntee pays tribute to music’s ability to transcend simple entertainment and cultivate a truly distinctive experience. The Jauntee has fostered a musical community based on a breadth of original material that engages fans through nightly exploration and risk taking. Averaging over one hundred shows a year, with each containing a unique set list and their own special improvisational moments, the band is constantly expanding upon what defines them and their live performances.

With almost a decade’s worth of touring experience; appearances at major festivals such as Peach Fest, Catskill Chill, and Resonance; and 36 states toured with stops at national touring staples such as Brooklyn Bowl, Georgia Theatre, and the Paradise Rock Club, The Jauntee have been nurturing a fanbase of dedicated followers who are inspired by their music and willing to travel to see what the band has in store next. Fans that thoroughly analyze their music, track their set lists and passionately promote their music. The Jauntee makes each night an exciting prospect of a new shared experience with bust-outs, fresh jamming, poignant covers, and accessible songwriting.

Their upcoming album “ALWAYS NEVER KNOWING” is a quintessential selection of live works from the band’s 2017 two-night-run at The Bridge Sound & Stage in their hometown of Cambridge, MA. It features 16 tracks that were professionally recorded, mixed, and mastered by sound engineer Alex Allinson and Tom Waltz. It showcases the band’s masterful playing and inspiring ability to take their original music and create something uniquely theirs night after night. It also features nine previously unreleased tracks that have quickly become staples of their live show. Experience the band in their purest element, pushing the boundaries of their sound while sharing that trip with their fans.

The Jauntee have just announced an extensive National Spring Tour for 2019. For fans, anticipation for this has been mounting since their well-reviewed Fall tour where they played alongside Leftover Salmon, Twiddle, New Orleans Suspects and many others for a majority of the two legs. The band has been keeping it close to their new home in Boulder but have been staying busy making mountain town appearances with Kyle Hollingsworth Band and Papadosio along with their Front Range headlining plays. This tour will take the band back through Texas into the Southeast and up North returning them to their old stomping grounds before heading home to Colorado. Dates announced include a show in Houston with Jazz Is Phsh, a couple plays with Andy Frasco & The UN in Birmingham and Nashville, and a number of Festivals including Meadowgrass and Spread The Word Music Festival. Switching gears a bit from the last few tours, a good amount of dates this time around will be “Evening With” shows including Boston, Asheville, Burlington, Cincinnati and more. These shows have many fans ecstatic for a full night of grade A improvisation. The Jauntee will also play what might possibly be the last show ever at Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT, as the school has announced their doors will be closing after this semester. Other stops on the run include Norman, Dallas, Atlanta, Greenville, Baltimore, Virginia Beach, and Albany to name a few. This Spring, don’t miss The Jauntee at a venue near you. The Jauntee have released a surprise live compilation available on all music platforms entitled Jaunts Of Our Lives which features cuts from the bands' Summer 2019 Tour. The release includes tracks performed at venues that have become staples for the band throughout the years: Parish Public House in Albany, Nectar's in Burlington, Green Mountain College in Poultney and Thunder Road in Boston. Only two of the twelve songs on Jaunts Of Our Lives have been previously released, so this promises to be a much anticipated display of their recent performances for their fans. The track list itself boasts songs written through the entire career of the band, as early as 2011 and as recently as 2018. Jaunts Of Our Lives has been hailed to feature some of the best improvisation the band has to offer or from any other release to date. The Jauntee are currently finishing up a national tour that has taken them from coast to coast and there doesn't seem to be any stop in sight.

The Jauntee's following continue to spread in a cult-like manner, which is not hard to see why. The band not only has an ability to engage their fans musically on the next level, but one that allows fans to engage with each other. The band's online community and forums are essentially trading posts of fans that exchange the best improv moments of any given song over the band's career, always eager to find the next best jam.

A testament to this has come merely one week after their Fall tour came to an end, when one The Jauntee fan (coined a 'Space Monkey') released a soundcloud playlist which consists of all the best jams of the band's fall tour which spanned 17 dates over the last month.

The Jauntee have always appreciated and supported tapers at their performances and this is apparent if you've been to one of their shows. The band self-records and mixes all of their shows which are available on archive.org shortly after completion of the night. This compilation comes from The Jauntee tracks which all readily available online, for the love of music.

The Jauntee appears to be taking the scene by storm and this winter tour will likely see many new fans introduced to the magic of their new-age improvisation. A number of winter appearances have already been announced by the band and they have now added a handful of headlining Colorado shows including what seems to have become an annual two-night run at The Vic in Salida, Public House in Crested Butte, Ullr's Tavern in Winter Park, and the ever-so-popular Old Town Pub in Steamboat Springs. The band will start the new year with runs of shows alongside Papadosio, moe., Spafford, and more. While the first part of the year they will remain close to home, they set sail on their west coast debut in March hitting Arcata and Las Vegas; along with returning to favorites like Neumos in Seattle, Volcanic Theatre Pub in Bend, and Wonder Ballroom in Portland. The Jauntee has had a recent knack of rolling out tour dates, so more dates are likely to be announced into the new year knowing how stacked their schedule always is. Stay up to date with announcements and more on the band's Facebook page and www.thejauntee.com.
