The New Era of Funk is Mouth’s first studio recorded and mixed release.  While Mouth has put out several live albums and recordings, this will be the first ever studio album released from the band.Mouth made a conscious decision to delay working in a studio until they had developed their sound to where they saw fit. The writing process in the studio lead to new sounds and textures that could only be produced in a studio environment. Hermon Mehari and Brandon Draper provide guest tracks on the tune 'Moufhaus,' otherwise everything you hear is played by the members of Mouth.About Mouth:The Groove Comes First! This is the motto of the Kansas City/Lawrence based instrumental trio Mouth. The band dubs their sound as Cosmic Funk. Consisting of pulsing rhythms, copious amounts of bass, and soaring textural layers Mouth creates funky vibes on the fly that range in influence from funk, fusion, and reggae to dubstep, house, and hip hop. This combined with extensive amounts of improvisation leads every night to be a one of kind evening. By using a plethora of modern, custom equipment, including live looping, the band transforms the traditional 3 piece setup into what sounds at times like full Cosmic Funk Orchestra. Mouth has been causing riots on dance floors since late 2008, and they continue to push the boundaries further and further at each show.

The Split Livers is a collaborative project between two of the most influential musicians in the alternative/acoustic punk bluegrass scene.Danny is widely regarded as one of the most innovative and genre-bending artists of his craft, Barnes' musical interests are both varied and adventurous, and he incorporates that versatility into a progressive approach to an instrument that is musically polarizing and steeped in tradition. Although he demonstrates an appreciation for the history of the bluegrass, country, and folk music from which the banjo's reputation was born, his inventive take is what truly separates him from his contemporaries…using the banjo as his ‘weapon of choice’ to play non-traditional music like rock, fusion, and jazz with electronic percussion and loop elements.Wayne and Split Lip Rayfield have carved out their own genre of music with their unique sound and instrumentation. Often described as a mix of bluegrass and country with an accent of metal Split Lip Rayfield has been a pioneer on the music scene, bending musical genres and crossing countless boundaries of musical expectations.Together Danny and Wayne bring you an experience like nothing else - Danny and Wayne are joining forces to bring you some classic songs from each of their band's repertoire while also blazing new trails (expect a to see an album release in the near future) that will change the face of music, yet again.-THE SPLIT LIVERS SUMMER TOUR SCHEDULE6-6-2012                  Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar | Houston, TX  6-7-2012                  The Cactus Club | Austin, TX6-9-2012                  The Bottleneck | Lawrence, KS   6-10-2012                Auntie Mae’s Parlor | Manhattan, KS    6-11-2012                Roxy’s | Columbia, MO  6-12-2012                Off Broadway | St Louis, MO6-13-2012                Rock Island Brewing Co | Rock Island, IL6-14-2012                Reggie’s Rock Club | Chicago, IL

Often described as a mix of bluegrass and country with an accent of metal, no other band delivers the experience of the homemade gas-tank bass played by Jeff Eaton, sets the mandolin strings on fire like Wayne Gottstine, or makes the banjo sing like Eric Mardis. Together, they burn up speakers and stages alike providing an unforgettable experience. This is one trio not to miss!

PLM is set to release the new Eliot Lipp album, Shark Wolf Rabbit Snake, on May 22, 2012. This release has Lipp breaking new ground with his ever-evolving production style. He has developed a unique sound that is completely its own yet sticks with the PLM axiom of genre bending originality. The album incorporates everything that has recently been in Lipp's sonic world, including hip-hop, drum & bass, funk, techno, jazz, and more, while still remaining a cohesive whole. The album is heavy on analogue synthesis and very tasteful sample collaging. These two elements make it sound as though it is simultaneously ahead of its time, and from the past.

"Eliot has been an inspiration and a friend over the years. We have played more than several shows together and whether there's 5 or 5000 people in the crowd, Eliot knows how to rock the party. The new style on Shark Wolf Rabbit Snake made it obvious that it was time for the two of us to team through PLM. He manages to stick with the style he has developed while leaning more towards classy good feeling electro hip-hop, and that, after all, is what I'm all about" - Derek Vincent Smith (founder of PLM and producer behind Pretty Lights)

Download the first single "Sunset" and get a taste of what's to come before the entire album drops on May, 22nd 2012 at www.prettylightsmusic.com/therecordlabel . The album will be available on vinyl at www.eliotlipp.com with pre-orders beginning today.

This album demonstrates a side of Lipp's sound that is heavier and more aggressive, with tracks that build tension and suspense, while still maintaining an underlying humor that keeps the bass from becoming too serious. Lipp displays an intuitive knack for teasing melodies out of rhythmic bangers, and draws from a remarkably mature sonic palette - two qualities that set the young instrumental producer apart. Most of the tracks for the album were created while Lipp was on tour, and then put together in the studio to form the album.

Alternative Power Productions (APP) delivers environmentally friendly concerts by utilizing natural energy resources combined with years of production experience.

The APP solar powered stages and sound systems give both promoters and performers an opportunity to educate the community about the benefits of renewable energy while delivering a concert with state of the art sound quality.

In 2011, APP partnered with Kleege Industries, (who holds the largest inventory of mobile stages in the US), to build and design the largest solar hybrid stage in the country for the Vans Warped Tour. Due to such a successful run in 2011, Kleege Industries and APP will be bringing the Helios SL250 stage back to the 2012 Vans Warped Tour.

When running purely on solar energy, the stage’s carbon offset capabilities are impressive.  The sun’s rays allow the stage to prevent the emission of close to 41,000 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere for the length of the tour.  These environmental benefits are comparable to driving 45,100 miles less in a car or creating the same carbon-offset benefits of 2,706 full-grown trees.  Beyond the environmental benefits, the stage is both quiet (unlike traditional, noisy generators) and produces no fumes.  Moreover, “The margin of error on solar technology is significantly less when you take into account that there are no moving parts, making the system more reliable,” says APP’s Mark McLarry.

"Every year we throw a party in our hometown. It's a surf contest/concert on the beach that helps out homeless kids. We love our beach, we love our ocean, and we love the planet. Thanks to alternative power productions we get to play our songs on a stage that loves the environment as much as we do."  - Jon Foreman :: Switchfoot

“Alternative Power Productions has been an instrumental partner to Another Planet Entertainment as we have looked for ways to incorporate alternative energy into both Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival and Treasure Island Music Festival. Alternative Power Productions has a competitive edge in the production of environmentally sustainable concerts, as they know both green business practices and the music promotion business.”  - Bryan Duquette :: festival producer from Another Planet Entertainment.

What are the advantages of working with Alternative Power Productions?

Turnkey
Coordinating separate sound systems, stages and lighting at venues can be a very difficult and technical process. By choosing Alternative Power Productions, the client will no longer have to coordinate with on site operation departments. Alternative Power Productions will simply set up and turn on the music. No electricity or wiring is necessary and we supply our own sound engineers and crew.

Reliability
The solar stages work by storing the sun's energy into batteries. Alternative Power Productions takes time to make sure the batteries are fully charged before each event. Not being dependent on the grid for electricity can actually be more reliable than using system power. Having a back up plan is always essential. The APP systems can also operate from a generator or a standard electrical outlet. The maintenance of all APP equipment from the sound system to our tow vehicles is our first priority.

Cost
Alternative Power Productions prices are competitive in the market but the difference is added value. Alternative Power Productions is a marketing production company as well as a turnkey solution.

Look for Alternative Power Productions at Vans Warped Tour, Outside Lands Festival, Long Beach's Summer and Music, and the ESPY Awards.  For a full list of equipment, partnerships and additional information please visit altpproductions.com.

The Appetite for Construction album/hat combo drops on Tuesday, August 21st.  The hat and custom album flash drive package  will ONLY be available for order, online.  You may also see it at Samples' and Grassroots' merchandise booths at select shows, events and festivals across the country.  Don't wait though!  There are only 420 special edition Samples Grassroots California hats, which include a flash drive version of the new album Appetite for Construction.  AND, to make it an even sweeter deal, a portion of the proceeds from these purchases will go to the Colorado Wildfire Fund.

Appetite for Construction follows Samples' EP, Life of the Party which was released earlier in 2012.  Life of the Party turned a lot of heads and has held up to its name.  Samples is taking his producing one step further with his new release, Appetite for Construction. "I wrote a lot of these songs to be main floor anthems and heaters during sets.  Instead of focusing on the "Glitch Hop" style of my past, I decided to branch out more into Dubstep and Electro House territory.  This new concept on songwriting for the album lends a unique style and sound to Appetite for Construction."

Samples' professional DJ career started in 2006 with a weekly radio show where he covered a wide range of styles and genres, with a focus on dance music and hip hop.  Now, Samples produces the music he spins which incorporates original beats, live mixing and lots of, yes, samples, which allows him to do what he does best - make a whole lot of new music filled with both brand news and some recognizable pieces of tunes that are sure to put the dance floor on fire.   "My live show is very active and entertaining and my main goal is to make people dance.  I'm gonna do that by throwing a lot of samples and songs that you'll recognize and play them in a new and fun way.  Even if you've heard any one of my 20+ releases you'll still be getting a new and unexpected live experience."

On February 23rd at the Austin Music Hall in Austin, Texas audiences will have the unique opportunity to witness an event of historic proportions, fusing the beauty of technology with live performance art in its highest form. For one evening and one evening only, British composer and producer Tipper will join performance cirque group Quixotic to create the ultimate Valentine’s Masquerade Party experience. As featured on TED as well as globally recognized festivals such as Wakarusa, Electric Forest, Wanderlust and Sea of Dreams, Quixotic is an ensemble of artists from various disciplines including aerial acrobatics, dance, fashion, film, music and visual effects. The Kansas City collective mixes violin-based pop, ballet, modern dance, aerial aerobatics, with a dazzling light show.  Refusing to be constrained to any specific art form and challenging traditional perceptions, Quixotic creates a total sensory experience unlike any other for their audience while exploring infinite possibilities of movement, sound and multimedia.Dave Tipper is a British composer and producer specializing in electronic music that ranges from Ambient, through Trip Hop, to up-tempo Nuskool Breakbeat. The dance floor becomes an ethereal field of holographic sound creating a totally immersive environment. Tipper and Quixotic will be taking main stage together to take you on this first ever magical journey to close out the evening following Quixotic’s performance and an opening set by the ever energetic beatmaker VibeSquaD.

That 1 Guy (aka Mike Silverman) has just released his first full-length album in nearly four years, an incredible sonic journey that reflects his unique blend of classical, rock, and electronic music.

The album, That 1 Guy explains, is “a deep water journey of discovery and attempted enlightenment.  It’s part-one of the four-part Magicland series that will follow (more on that later).  Lots of research and development went into this one.  The deep water density and pressures were more than we anticipated and so the aftermath is not yet completely understood...  Please listen and decide....  “

Averaging 150-200 shows a year all over North America and Canada, That 1 Guy has been a favorite at festivals like Wakarusa, Electric Forest, Big Day Out, All Good, Bella, High Sierra, Summer Meltdown, Montreal Jazz Festival, Harvest Music Festival and many more. He was also the ʻTap Water Awardʼ winner at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for best musical act, and his legendary collaboration Buckethead as The Frankenstein Brothers has further cemented his virtuoso story as a creative visionary as well.

On the second disc, Sound, the band dives into their groovy side exploring funky rhythms, guitar shredding, synth melodies and driving dance beats while remaining true to their all-instrumental roots. The Magic Beans uses no pre-recorded tracks or samples in favor of a more traditional approach to music: original compositions, diverse instrumentation, and continual pushing of the musical envelope.  Their unique style of music inspires a good time and moves the mind, while tight booty shakin' grooves move the body and soul.  Drawing from a wide range of influences, The Magic Beans leave nothing off the table as they combine americana, funk, rock, jazz, bluegrass and electronica into a one sound, sometimes even one composition.  Their sound has been described by fans as spacefunk, ameritronica, and groove grass.  They seamlessly combine acoustic roots music and traditional instruments with modern technology and electronic dance music, making The Magic Beans as unique as their place of origin, the Colorado Rockies.Sites and Sound, the band’s first release in almost three years, consists of songs the band has played live for many years as well as brand new tracks, all written and recorded by members of The Magic Beans.  This album showcases the band's evolution since their conception three years ago.  After countless tour dates and a whole lotta livin', the band has matured and refined their sound and songwriting while maintaining their lighthearted, upbeat appeal.  The band's inspirations are boundless and they draw heavily from American music like jazz, funk, bluegrass, rhythm/blues, soul and folk and fellow contemporary Jam bands.  They also heavily cater to their fan base.  The Magic Bean's fans are very vocal and the band loves fulfilling their needs. There are a myriad of special guest stars on Sites and sound, including Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon on banjo, Zebulon Bowles of Whitewater Ramble/Big & Rich on fiddle, Scott Messersmith of The Motet on percussion, Cody Russell of Drunken Hearts on lap/pedal steel guitars and Mark Hanson of A 4 Animal on horns. Sites and Sounds was recorded at the gorgeous Crucible Studio in Eldorado Spring Canyon, CO. Their sound engineer was Andy McEwen. The Magic Beans have released two singles from Sights and Sounds.  "Leave the Light On” off of the first disc, Sights and “Jabu Jabu's Belly” off of the second disc, Sounds.  The album is available for purchase on themagicbeans.bandcamp.com.  Hard copies will be available on Amazon April 19th.  For more information visit The Magic Bean's website at http://magicbeansmusic.com.The Magic Beans are:Scott Hachey – GuitarHunter Welles – MandolinJosh Appelbaum – BassCasey Russell – KeysCody Wales – Drums Tour Dates:4/18/2014- Barkley Ballroom- Frisco, CO4/19/2014- Bluebird Theater- Denver, CO4/24/2014- The Bottleneck- Lawrence, KS4/25/2014- Euphoria Festival-Austin, TX4/26/2014- LSU School Ending Phish After Party- Baton Rouge, LA4/27/2014- Wild Wild West Festival- Tucson, AZ5/15/2014- Joshua Tree Music Festival- Joshua Tree, CA5/16/2014- The Mint - Los Angeles, CA5/17/2014- The Griffin- San Diego, CA5/18/2014- Sunshine Daydream Boat Cruise - Long Beach, CA5/24/2014- The Mishawaka Amphitheater- Bellevue, CO6/6-6/8/2014- Wakarusa Music Festival- Ozark, AR6/13-15/2014- Beanstalk Music and Arts Festival- State Bridge Amphitheater- Bond, CO7/18-19/2014- Groove Festival, Shadow's Ranch- Georgetown, CO8/9/2014- ARISE Festival, Loveland, CO

Wakarusa Music Festival is excited to announce the dates for the 2015 festival. This years multi-day camping and music festival will take place June 4-7, 2015 on the majestic Mulberry Mountain near Ozark, AR. 2015 will mark the seventh year of Wakarusa on Mulberry Mountain and will feature four days of music on six stages, with 150 acts and nearly 200 sets of music.

“Wakarusa” is a word derived from Native American culture that means “ass-deep”. Of course, back then this described the depth of a river. 2015 will mark the 12th year that we have come to know Wakarusa as a way to define the depth of an experience.

Wakarusa is a rite of passage for a new generation. Any Wakafarian can affirm; those four days on Mulberry Mountain in June are the gateway to the best summer of your life. Wakarusa is one of the few tangible ties that truly bind us together. Each year, music meets Mother Nature at a pristine place where friendships are forged and lifelong memories are made.

When you step foot onto Mulberry Mountain, you are immersed in a community that must be felt to be understood. Regardless of your status as a Waka vet or a Waka virgin, each pilgrimage to the Mountain will change you forever. Wakarusa is much more than a music and camping festival. Wakarusa is an experience that was created by music lovers, for music lovers.

Full Event Passes, as well as Camping, RV, and VIP Passes will go on sale this November. For more information visit the official Wakarusa website: www.wakarusa.com.

Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival is thrilled to announce that the Everyone Orchestra will be the curator for the Lunar Landing Conspiracy for the 2015 festival. The second annual three-day festival will take place on the picturesque Mulberry Mountain near Ozark, Arkansas Oct 16-18, 2015. Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival is a multi-day camping event that will feature four distinct components: feel good music, performance art, visual art and the Sanctuary; plus an eclectic variety of activities and attractions.

Lunar Landing Conspiracy is a highly anticipated annual headlining experience and Phases of the Moon’s signature event presented by a newly featured "Curator" each year. The curator's challenge is to conceptualize and orchestrate a full concert set utilizing the talented cast of musicians, performers and artists present at Phases of the Moon Festival.

Everyone Orchestra’s conductor, Matt Butler has been leading a rotating cast of accredited musicians through shows that are entirely improvised. In 2012, Butler gathered well-known musicians from Phish and moe. to record Everyone Orchestra’s first studio album, Brooklyn Sessions, which was largely improvised. “The experience of playing with different musicians, improvising every night, and getting the crowd involved in ways that they can’t be at a regular show has provided an unparalleled live music experience,” said Butler. The list of Everyone Orchestra participants is an increasingly wide and intercontinental group including members of The Grateful Dead, Phish, Furthur, Ratdog, Trey Anastasio Band, Gov’t Mule, String Cheese Incident, moe. and the Allman Brothers Band.

In addition to the Lunar Landing Conspiracy announcement, Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival is also excited to welcome the 2015 Artist in Residence, Larry Keel. Larry Keel is described by reviewers and fans as the most powerful, innovative and all-out exhilarating acoustic flat picking guitarist performing today. Masterful song-writing, fierce playing, gritty good-time charm and a deep earthy voice all create the signature style that has earned Keel the highest respect and billing among the top acoustic and jam rock artists today. Larry will also be performing his Larry Does Jerry All Star Jam & the Larry Keel Experience over the weekend.

The Phases of the Moon Artist in Residence is designed to showcase an artist over the course of the weekend. The concept is flexible and free flowing allowing the artist full creative expression including but not limited to multiple artist "sit-in/collaboration" (both musical & visual) of their choosing throughout the entire event as well as solo impromptu shows, meet & greets and more.

Phase Three Passes, as well as Camping, RV Unreserved, VIP Passes and Weekend Passes are on sale now. For more information on Phases of the Moon Music + Art Festival please visit: http://potm.us.

Indie Rock band, Coyote Union has launched an Indiegogo campaign in support of their first full-length studio album. The 13-track un-named album will be recorded at Trout Recording Studio in Brooklyn, NY and produced by Bryce Goggin. Goggin has produced Phish’s Farmhouse and Pavement’s Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain to name a few. The band plans to record and mix with Goggin in Brooklyn for two weeks in September and October and is looking to release the album in early 2016.

Coyote Union, a quartet from Mountain Home, Arkansas consists of Jordan Finley (bass, vocals), Jake Sunnerville (guitar, vocals), Randy Merriam (guitar, vocals), and Wes Dorethy (guitar, mandolin, keys, violin, vocals). A small town band with big time dreams all focused on one goal; to make the best music we can make and travel the world playing it.  The band is offering contributors to the album a variety of rewards including a pre-release album download, handwritten lyrics for a song or the album, an acoustic video session, personal cover song, a private show, a chance to name the album and much more.

Coyote Union’s sound is the culmination of their influences and experiences, drawing from the down home roots and punk-rock sensibility and the need to create deep connections. Their style is a melting pot of rock, punk, blues, folk, Americana and a touch of classical and grunge, but, no matter what the style, they always play from the heart. Rather than writing hits, Coyote Union’s aim is to reach people that need to hear their songs for inspiration, and to help them through the down times, writing about love, anger, passion, conquering, accomplishment, triumph, sadness and sorrow. Both their dynamic music and deeply moving lyrics take listeners on an emotional roller coaster and pull on the heart strings.
