Southern California’s premier live music, art, and culinary event BEACHLIFE FESTIVAL, taking place May 5-7, 2023 on the picturesque waterfront in Redondo Beach, CA, is announcing the exciting line-up for the SpeakEasy Stage powered by Volume.com. Offering a unique opportunity to experience rock legends and Southern California punk staples performing reimagined stripped-down versions from their catalogs, SpeakEasy is an intimate experience that can only be found at BeachLife’s signature laid-back, oceanfront setting. Jim Lindberg of Pennywise, Donavon Frankenreiter, Jonny Two Bags of Social Distortion, Zander Schloss of Circle Jerks, and David Ryan Harris, among many more, will take the stage.

The SpeakEasy Stage is developed by BeachLife Creative Director Jim Lindberg in alignment with Volume.com. Lindberg, a pioneer of the West Coast punk scene as frontman for Hermosa Beach-based group Pennywise, conceptualized SpeakEasy to integrate some of LA’s hardcore spirit with the easygoing nature of the festival. This year’s event will be livestreamed for everyone to watch on Volume.com.

“We’re going to have great artists performing acoustically...on a tiny stage...in the middle of a HUGE festival...in an intimate setting--playing all your favorite songs,” Lindberg shares.

BeachLife Festival Speakeasy Stage Lineup: Jim Lindberg (Pennywise), Donavon Frankenreiter, Jonny Two Bags (Social Distortion), Zander Schloss (Circle Jerks), David Ryan Harris, Stacey Dee (Bad Cop Bad Cop), Rainbow Girls, Devon Baldwin, The Foxies, Claire Wright and Hard Rooster.

A popup art gallery curated by Punk Rock & Paintbrushes will also be display at the SpeakEasy Stage. Founded by Emily Nielsen in 2007 following a successful battle against cancer, Punk Rock & Paintbrushes was inspired by a painting from her friend Tim McIlrath of Rise Against, with the poignant lyrics to their song “Survive.” Now a talented collective of artists, many musicians themselves, who share a love for both art and music and the healing power both outlets can bring, it’s a place for artists and fans alike to connect, combining their creative energy while raising awareness for charitable efforts.

In celebration of the SpeakEasy Stage line-up release, the BEACHLIFE team is throwing a party this Saturday, February 11 at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach. Stacey Dee and Linda Le of Bad Cop Bad Cop will perform and there will be limited complimentary beer, raffle giveaways for festival tickets, surfboards and more. Tickets are available here.
