Whether heating up intimate jazz clubs or turning heads at festivals, Denver’s Katie Glassman & Snapshot are winning over audiences with their irresistible combination of old-time western swing, dazzling musicianship and contemporary songwriting. With their second album, Dream a Little Dream (March 4, 2014), they’re spreading the joy of fiddle-driven swing music to even more ears. And feet.

The follow-up to 2012’s Snapshot, Dream a Little Dream contains five Glassman compositions and a handful of chestnuts, from the Great American Songbook. Each showcases the talents of members Eric Moon, who delivers jazzy, retro piano and accordion riffs; Charlie Mertens, a slap-and-thump bassist; Greg Schochet, who draws his guitar style from the coolest 1940s cats; and Glassman – winner of both youth and young-adult National Oldtime Fiddlers Contest championships – whose formidable playing and singing knit the ensemble together.
