South African musician and music therapist, Sharon Katz, has been working with the Mexican nonprofit Promotora de las Bellas Artes since 2018 when she spearheaded "The Peace Train Transcending Barriers Tour", crossing the USA Mexican border with American and South African musicians, youth and families to join with Mexican children and families for an astounding parade and unity concert.

Last year in 2019 she joined the organization as special guest artist for a gigantic concert with 1,500 children from Promotora's school choirs, in Tijuana's largest stadium and in November the 30 voice children's choir, Cantores de Tijuana, traveled with Sharon Katz & The Peace Train to perform in Cuba at the 33rd International Festival of Choirs.  Sharon Katz, who founded The Peace Train Project in 1992 in her home country, South Africa, has been working in Tijuana for the past 5 months, collaborating with the President and Founder of Promotra de las Bellas Artes, Alida Guajardo de Cervantes, and the musical director, Cuban musician, Daria Abreu-Feraud.  Sharon Katz & Alida Guajardo are currently in conversation with the Mexican Embassy in South Africa and the South African Consulate in Los Angeles, about upcoming cultural exchange programs.
