Sydney Quiseng Releases That’s My Baby! EP

Echosmith frontwoman Sydney (Sierota) Quiseng has released her new EP That’s My Baby!. PRESS HERE to stream / download. A testament to Quiseng’s artistic evolution, That’s My Baby! is defined by reflection, resilience, and self-discovery, and chronicles her unfiltered experiences with love, loss, and personal growth as she steps into the next chapter of her story and prepares for the arrival of her daughter.

“My marriage and my pregnancy have been huge inspirations for this EP,” shares Quiseng. “I’ve experienced so much personal growth in the past few years as I’ve become a wife, stepped out on my own as a solo artist, and now a mom. All of these songs really capture the wide range of emotions I’ve had with all these changes in a very honest way. I’ve always dreamt of becoming a mom while also pursuing my dream in music, so putting ‘That’s My Baby!’ out right before my baby comes into the world feels really special.”

In tandem with the release, Quiseng has also shared her new single “Bad Habit,” a guitar-driven toe-tapper about sticking with what you know and putting off growth despite knowing that you want a change. “I wrote ‘Bad Habit’ after going to a party and having a lot of conversational regret,” adds Quiseng. “I have always been a chronic people pleaser and sometimes I shapeshift a little too much when I’m meeting someone new. I often end up downplaying the good things in my life. It’s something I’m working on, but you can know that you want and need to change and still not do anything about it. A lot of times we’re aware of the bad habits we have and put off actual growth because it’s easier to just stick with what we’re used to, even if it’s self-destructive.”

Featuring new tracks “Bloom” and “Mhm (I Like That),” That’s My Baby! is a six-song project that showcases the emotive vocals and signature storytelling that have cemented Quiseng as an indie-pop superstar and fast-rising Country/Americana singer-songwriter. Drawing inspiration from Quiseng’s own journey, stretching from the indie-pop stardom she found as a teenager with Echosmith all the way to falling in love with her now-husband, That’s My Baby! carries forward the authenticity listeners have always connected with and captures the wide range of emotions she has had as she’s learnt to navigate new terrain as a solo artist who is building a family of her own.

That’s My Baby! marks a full circle moment for Quiseng as the follow up to her debut EP Phases, which was released the day she found out she was pregnant, and arrives mere weeks before her due date to offer listeners an unfiltered look into her heart and mind. An honest representation of who Quiseng is today as well as a “told you so” directed at those who advised her against starting a family as it would “end her career,” That’s My Baby! was recorded during her pregnancy and features lead single “Coffee Shop in Kyoto” as well as recent fan favorites “When a Good Thing Ends,” which explores the heartache of holding on while trying to move forward when something you love is slipping away, and “That’s My Baby (On Main Street)” which is about shamelessly loving out loud that celebrates the love Sydney has for her husband as well as the love she already has for her baby.

Skyrocketing to stardom alongside her bandmates (and siblings) with Echosmith’s ubiquitous, quadruple-platinum hit single “Cool Kids” which received a reimagined, more alternative version “Cool Kids (our version)” after its viral resurgence on TikTok, Sydney Quiseng (Pronounced Key-Sang) has become an inescapable presence in music, fashion, and pop culture. Since announcing her global publishing deal with BMG, Quiseng has been spotlighted on Spotify’s All New Country, Apple Music’s New in Country and New in Americana, and TIDAL’s Country Rising, and is forging her own path as a solo artist in Nashville. An emerging, fresh voice in the Country and Americana landscape who turns to songwriting as a way to process what she’s going through, Quiseng is making waves for telling brutally honest stories about her life and pouring them into music that creates a safe space for people to come and feel seen.
