In addition to two stages of music, Thrive Fest Hawaii also features yoga, pool parties, late-night silent disco, educational & inter-active workshops, performance art, African drum & dance, Marimba Troupe Hula, visual art, a Health & Wellness Zone, Keiki Zone, food & craft vendors, zero waste, and a “prayer-formance” with Bama Kuna Orchestra.

The non-profit Kalani Retreat Center / permaculture community was established in 1975 with a focus on natural and holistic living, yoga and relaxation with an educational mission to connect participants with a richer sense of body-mind-spirit and with the stated intention of creating a model for community and environmental wellness. Kalani is widely recognized around the globe as being the birthplace of “ecstatic dance,” a proud distinction and a constant inspiration.

The inspiration for Thrive Fest comes from honoring the powerful resilience of the people of the Puna community and the sacred ground that is the Big Island. The image of a blade of grass pushing through the lava rock, reaching for the sun, is the ultimate expression of nature’s true goal, which is always to thrive, never merely to exist or sustain…but to THRIVE!

In partnering with “Be the Change” charity organization Thrive Fest will be donating to Puna Community Gardening Project and currently has plans underway for a planting party in January. Thrive Fest is also proud to sponsor the Hawaii Farmers Union United and The Hawaii Institute of Pacific Agriculture with the stated objective of advocating for food sovereignty.

The vitality of the Big Island is infectious, providing optimal conditions to welcome radical transformation and creative expression. When you add into the mix the sweetest ocean breeze, and a community of music-loving sun worshipers, you will come to know Aloha.
