Athens, GA indie rock band, Futurebirds, have teamed up with guitarist/producer Carl Broemel from My Morning Jacket to create a new EP, Bloomin’ Too. They previously released, “Buffet Days”, their first single off the album, and today they are releasing their second single, “Sinz & Frenz” off the seven-track EP, which is coming September 9th on No Coincidence Records.

On August 14th, Los Angeles independent radio darling KCRW presented a curated evening of music at the storied Hollywood Bowl. Despite the event being billed as part of KCRW’s “World Festival,” the music presented was uniquely American, with blues, soul, funk, R&B, and classic Americana all well-represented.

In honor of his birthday today, New West Records & Pedernales Records are proud to announce Live Forever: A Tribute To Billy Joe Shaver to be released November 11th, 2022. The 12-song set was co-produced by Charlie Sexton & Freddy Fletcher and features renditions of Shaver songs lovingly recorded by Willie Nelson and Lucinda Williams, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, Nathaniel Rateliff, Ryan Bingham and Nikki Lane, Steve Earle, Edie Brickell, Rodney Crowell, Margo Price, Allison Russell, and Amanda Shires.

Goose returned to The Chrysalis at Merriweather Park for round two last Saturday, and delivered dark, raging jams for a very packed crowd. This was the second time the Connecticut based squad played in this tranquil, natural environment that contains an artistic stage designed to meld with the surroundings. This band continues to grow their fan base, as many in attendance were at their first or second show, and loving it.

Legendary Israeli psytrance duo Infected Mushroom today have revealed the latest addition to their forthcoming ‘IM25’ album, with a rocktronic rendition of Alannah Myles’ 1989 classic song, “Black Velvet.” Featuring fellow Israeli singer-songwriter Ninet Tayeb, the trio have transformed the #1 original into a glitchy synth-driven remake with amplified guitar chords and sultry vocals.

The past two years have been pretty strange for all of us, but particularly so for Dave Brandwein, co-founder of powerfunk band Turkuaz. After 10 steady years of touring as festival mainstays, the band suddenly splintered while on the road with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew, marking the 40-year anniversary of the Talking Heads’ classic Remain in Light album. Amidst a pandemic-induced shutdown, the dissolution of his marriage, and a stint in rehab, Brandwein moved from Brooklyn, NY, to Los Angeles, California, to pick up the pieces.

The inaugural TidalWave Music Festival hosted a capacity audience this past weekend. The three-day beachfront “Roar On The Shore" took place on the Atlantic City Beach in New Jersey with headliners Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen and Dierks Bentley helping establish the festival’s first year. TidalWave partnered with Rock The Ocean to help generate awareness and raise funds for ocean conservation. While onsite fans could visit the festival’s “Conservation Village” offering interactive activities and opportunities to learn how fans can help save the oceans.
