In a recent conversation we had, guitarist Leo Nocentelli laid down why music from New Orleans was so distinct.

“There are only a few cities that have a reputation of having a sound… [New Orleans] is a unique city that has its own identity. When a New Orleans record hits the radio, you know where it’s from. Being identified as an individual rather than sounding like anybody.”

Turbo Suit (formerly Cosby Sweater) has launched a summer music series called “Singles Night”, which will feed fans fresh new remixes every two weeks while they hit the festival circuit starting with Summer Camp over Memorial Day weekend. The first track is a remix of French Kiwi Juice’s “Instant Need” that is perfect for electronic funk fans. Los-Angeles based, Boston-bred folk-punk troubadour Bryan McPherson is set to release his third album, the dynamic Wedgewood via O.F.D. Phish tour is just around the corner and that means it’s time once again for the Mimi Fishman Foundation to host an auction for the WaterWheel Foundation.
