June Lake Jam Fest, the annual fundraising event for the June Lake Loop Performing Arts Association (JLLOOPPAA) has announced the lineup for their much-lauded boutique music festival. The jam band festival, in its eighth year and dubbed “Flying High Edition'', takes place in Gull Lake Park in June Lake, CA from September 8th through the 10th.

SHAKTI, featuring British guitarist John McLaughlin and Indian tabla player Zakir Hussain alongside vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan, and percussionist Selvaganesh Vinayakram (son of original Shakti ghatam player T.H. “Vikku” Vinayakram) have launched their 50th Anniversary tour, their first in over sixteen years. This must-see tour includes stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Seattle, Chicago - eighteen cities in all, boasting five sold-out markets with others close behind.

Following his nationwide run of summer tour dates, Grammy Award-winning guitarist Peter Frampton will continue the Never Say Never Tour with a string of November shows. The tour kicks off in Louisville, Kentucky at The Louisville Palace and includes stops at Austin, Texas’s Moody Theater, Birmingham, Alabama’s BJCC Concert Hall, Nashville, Tennessee’s Ryman Auditorium and more.

Today, Dave Matthews Band announced plans to tour the U.S. this fall. It is with profound sorrow that we at Grateful Web mourn the loss of James Casey, a saxophonist whose artistry touched the lives of countless music lovers and whose kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him. James passed away on August 28, 2023, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was surrounded by love, enveloped by the warm embrace of his wife and family.

Phish performed two benefit concerts at Saratoga Springs, NY’s Broadview Stage at SPAC this weekend, raising over $3.5M for flood recovery efforts in Vermont and Upstate New York. Both shows featured special pre-show acoustic sets with Phish’s Page McConnell and Trey Anastasio, while the Saturday, August 26 performance saw Phish joined on stage by a surprise appearance from guitarist Derek Trucks.
