The eighth Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival will be held on the Green on Saturday, August 18, from noon until 10:00 p.m. The annual free concert is made possible by the generous support of many sponsors who are well-known in the region.

This fall Strange Machines embark on their most ambitious tour to date. Following a summer of choice festival appearances, the quartet will play a string of dates in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic including a headlining hometown show in Boston September 29th before making their way west. In mid-October the band will make their Colorado debut, including a Pigeons Playing Ping Pong after-party in Boulder and a 2-night stint in Denver (as well as one more CO date still TBA 10/18).

Cries of "Jesus" shouted toward The Artisanals frontman Johnny Delaware as he took the stage correctly foreshadowed the tone for the night. With a steel wire dangling from his instrument’s headstock, he left no doubt in the San Francisco crowd's mind that he was a tenured advocate of the 11-string guitar. Barefoot and grounded to the stage he stood on, he let the band tease the audience before plugging his instrument into the loudspeaker.

Singer/songwriter Nahko has released the official music video for his latest single, “Goodnight Sun.”  This is the fourth single from his debut solo album, My Name is Bear, following the release of “Dragonfly,” “Be Here Now,” and “Hamakua.”  The video combines behind the scenes footage of Nahko on tour with Medicine For The People and clips from time spent with family and friends at home.

Today, Rob Garza releases his latest offering, Dissolve EP (Armada Music).  The tracks on the EP move and meld from full on dance party, to dark and hauntingly captivating.

The 1968 debut album from celebrated Chicago-based guitarist TERRY CALLIER will be officially re-released on CD, hi-res digital in both 96/24-bit quality and 192/24-bit quality, and-for the first time--on vinyl October 19 when Los Angeles' Craft Recordings reissues The New Folk Sound Of Terry Callier. The album - originally recorded on one afternoon in 1964 but not released until four years later when a copy of the almost-lost master was rediscovered - is unique in that it features just an acoustic guitar and two bass players.
