Carnivals and Other Tragedies is the third full-length release from Chicago based singer songwriter Marshall (Hjertstedt), although this is the first release to a national audience. Carnivals and Other Tragedies (July 20, 2018) is a collection of 7 original songs which center on a hybrid acoustic / electric approach and spanning the gamut of singer-songwriter based folk, roots and rock. It’s an easygoing sound balanced between positivity and poignancy.

Mark Wenner, founder and leader of beloved roots band The Nighthawks, announces a June 15 date for the self-titled debut CD of Mark Wenner’s Blues Warriors on EllerSoul Records. Joining Wenner (vocals, harmonica) in the band are fellow Nighthawks mate Mark Stutso (drums, vocals), as well as Clarence “The Bluesman” Turner (guitar, vocals), Zach Sweeney (guitar) and Steve Wolf (upright bass).

Spring is springing and Terrapin Flyer with Melvin Seals are hitting the road again this time going East! Along with Melvin is a great new configuration that includes two players who have never toured with Terrapin with Melvin. The tour will feature bassist extraordinaire Janis Wallin who played with Melvin and Steve Kimock in Crazy Engine and has played many previous TF shows that did not include Melvin.

THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES will be launching their annual end of summer all ages music festival this year. The inaugural Cranking & Skanking Fest will take place at Worcester Palladium Outdoors on Saturday, August 25th. The lineup includes Toots & The Maytals, The Bouncing Souls, Fishbone, The Pietasters, and The Planet Smashers among others. There will be plenty of craft beer, food, and vendors as well.
