Margo Price has announced the October 20 release of her new album 'All American Made’ on Third Man Records.  Delivering on the promise of her 2016 debut ‘Midwest Farmer’s Daughter,’ – an album that took her from country underdog to breakout star - Price raises the stakes considerably on ‘All American Made,’ offering twelve new, original songs that explore long nights and hard days, wild women and cocaine cowboys, politics and sexism, with plainspoken poetry and cutting insight.

Of the living legendary Jazz musicians of the 20th century, few perform with such purpose and poise as Mahavishnu John McLaughlin. As the groundbreaking Jazz-fusion originating guitarist has put it in two separate interviews with Grateful Web, it’s all out of love. Love for life, love for the players in his earth-shattering 4th Dimension band, love for exploration, love for all people.

Kessel Run creates music for the body & the mind. The band was formed in Boulder, Colorado in 2016. In their first year, their playing has gained them some furious momentum, allowing them to play in venues such as the Fox Theatre in Boulder and the Bluebird Theater in Denver. With a heavy utilization of improvisation, Kessel Run combines Funk, Rock, and Dance Music. Jazz tones and intricacies meet the pulse-pounding grooves and energy of Rock & Roll. Join them as they travel to the forefront of the Colorado jam scene in less than 12 Parsecs.

Like Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing, I have emerged from my Labor Day cocoon called North Coast Music Festival. In its 8th year, NCMF returned to Union Park Chicago for a real good time. Union Park is far from the commercial grade Grant Park of Lollapalooza. It’s more like the park that Will Smith sings about in Summertime, the 1996 classic Fresh Prince tune. It’s the kind with the basketball courts and girls playing double dutch and the smells of the grill sparking up nostalgia.

On the cool evening of September 8, 2017, I entered the parking lot at Sweetwater in Fort Wayne, IN. If you do not know, Sweetwater is a musical equipment store and distribution center, along with housing recording studios, practice space, concert halls, and a large pseudo-airplane hangar in the back where they can host more significant events. This outdoor hangar (or pavilion, if you will), was my destination on this evening.

As the sun crested the sky on one of the more perfect afternoons you could ask for in the middle of New York City at the end of August, Phil LeshLesh and his Terrapin Family Band huddled at the side of the stage as the audience hooted and hollered, unable to contain their excitement for the music that was about to come.

Acclaimed artist Josh Ritter’s new track, “When Will I Be Changed,” featuring guest vocals from fellow collaborator and legendary musician Bob Weir premiered yesterday via Rolling Stone Country. Of the song, Rolling Stone Country proclaims, “The song pitches its tent midway between the country, gospel and soul camps, with thickly stacked harmonies that evoke the Dead’s own folk-rock classic American Beauty.” You can listen/share the track here: http://bit.ly/2gOaCk9

The Southern Belles of Richmond, VA, announced their tour dates through the end of 2017. They will be touring in support of their most recent release, In the Middle of the Night, which came out on August 5th. The band will return to several of their favorite cities and hit some brand new markets where fans have been asking for plays. Advance tickets for many of the shows are on sale now.

Nashville’s duck-themed funk band The Aquaducks are flying west to Colorado, and are releasing brand new live footage of their funkiest songs to celebrate! Known for being hard hitters, The Ducks’ put on a live show that just won’t quit.
