SnowGlobe Music Festival presented by MTV returned this past weekend to California’s breathtaking Sierra Nevada Mountains to host the country’s largest outdoor New Year’s music festival. With over 40 groundbreaking artists performing on multiple stages over 3 nights, the 8th annual event saw approximately 20,000 daily attendees throughout the weekend. The 2018 event brought in the new year with expanded and newly designed gathering areas including the MTV Lodge, unique art installations, Big Air ski and snowboard showcases between Main Stage sets, firework displays and more.

Bay-area hip-hop sensation G-Eazy, SnowGlobe-vet and fan favorite Kaskade, EDM-star REZZ, Swedish house heavy-hitter Eric Prydz, and livetronica sensations Big Gigantic kicked-off the 3-day festival on Saturday, December 29th with unforgettable performances on the Main Stage. Dedicated Snowglobe attendees anxiously waited for gates to open, anticipating the start of a weekend full of music and revelry to ring in the new year. Once inside, fans were able to explore the new art installations, the debut of the Rail Jam (the additional Big-Air feature showcasing local and professional skiers and snowboarders), the brand-new MTV Lodge, and more. At the Igloo tent, fans celebrated the beginning of their SnowGlobe 2018 experience with sets from 070 Shake, Anna Lunoe, Duckwrth and more. The Sierra Stage saw energetic sets from Party Favor, GoldLink, and Said the Sky.

Day two of SnowGlobe 2018 welcomed fans with warm temperatures and a classic California bluebird skies. Fans packed the Main Stage for highly-anticipated sets from Diplo, Tyga, RL Grime, and Sofi Tukker. The Sierra stage welcomed Ekali, Sam Gellaitry, Brownies and Lemonade All Star, while the Igloo tent bumped with Chris Lake b2b Waker & Royce, Justin Jay, and Sacha Robotti.

As New Year’s Eve dawned on Monday, December 31st, the excitement in the crowd was palatable. A cold and windy day in South Lake Tahoe did not dampen the spirits of the SnowGlobe crowd as they showed up in their best winter outfits. Rae Sremmurd took the mainstage early in the afternoon and electrified fans with a performance not soon to be forgotten. Followed by NGHTMRE b2b SLANDER, SOB x RBE and Gorgon City, the mainstage was firing. Manila Killa b2b Chet Porter, Medasin and CRAY thrilled fans at the Sierra Stage, while AC Slater b2b Wax Motif, Shallou and Chelsea Cutler kept the Igloo rocking all day and night long. Acclaimed British trance duo Above & Beyond led SnowGlobe into the New Year with a moving set, inviting fans on stage to ‘push the button’ into the New Year’s countdown, complete with fireworks, confetti, balloons and a message of love and togetherness for 2019.
