The Soul Rebels

Pickathon announces the full lineup of bands for the 2024 Festival, coming August 1-4 to Pendarvis Farm in Happy Valley, Oregon (12 miles outside of Portland, OR). The festival brings a renewed focus on major headliners, starting with Australian indie rock icon Courtney Barnett. Pickathon has headlining slots with folk group Elephant Revival, soul revivalist Durand Jones, country rock mainstay Bonnie "Prince" Billy, and "Australia's greatest boy band," Vacations.

More than five decades ago, the legendary Count Basie covered Sonny Rollins’s now-classic “St. Thomas,” melding his iconic piano playing and big band stylings with its Caribbean-inflected feel to great effect. The blending of sounds and cultures moved people’s bodies and minds in a way that still ripples into the current day.

The final day of Skull and Roses 2022 dawned, revealing an overcast windless sky, which was a welcome respite from the hot, windy conditions from the days before. When Keller Williams and Grateful Grass took the stage in the early afternoon, the sun began to peek through the clouds revealing a vast crowd assembled for the festival finale.

The Brooklyn Bowl announces Robin Thicke will join New Orleans funk-brass maestros The Soul Rebels for their shows at Brooklyn Bowl on April 1st and 2nd as part of the band’s national Epic Vibes Tour. The performances mark The Soul Rebels’ triumphant return to Brooklyn and come exactly two years since their pandemic-canceled Brooklyn Bowl show with the late DMX.

The Soul Rebels today announced the release of two previously unreleased songs from their latest album, Poetry In Motion, which have been mixed in exclusively in Sony’s 360 Reality Audio. The tracks, “Groove Train” and “Musica”, are being released for the first time as an extension of their 2019 album.

Trombone Shorty’s Voodoo Threauxdown is a curated mini-festival, a history of New Orleans music and a vision of where that music is headed in the 21st century. “I want to share the music and the vibe of my city,” Trombone Shorty says.

THE SOUL REBELS are honored to announce their upcoming opening performance at the Women's March's Rally For Abortion Justice on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00AM ET in Washington, DC.  Women's March protesters will gather in support of reproductive rights at more than 500 marches in all 50 states, with the flagship march in Washington, DC with The Soul Rebels opening with a special performance.  
 

THE SOUL REBELS are pleased to announce Part 1 of their EPIC VIBES TOUR, spanning Fall 2021 through Winter 2022. Touring will include concerts in the Midwest, Northeast, The South, West Coast and a robust schedule of performances in New Orleans.  The Soul Rebels are excited to release new music this Fall in support of the tour, and announce Spring 2022 Part 2 of the tour in Fall 2021.

With The Robert Randolph Foundation’s inaugural Juneteenth Unityfest only 9 days away, organizers are pleased to announce a number of new additions to the already star-studded line-up, including performances by GRAMMY™ Award-winning artists India Arie and Ledisi. Newly confirmed guest appearances include Ms. Opal Lee, Craig Robinson, Adesola Osakalumi, Deesha Dyer, Gail Devers, Jason Wright, Krystal Mackie, Zina Garrison, LeVar Burton, and Lynn Nottage.

Blue Note Jazz Club Presents is excited to partner with the Rhythm Foundation for an exclusive series of concerts at the North Beach Bandshell in Miami Beach, Florida. The music scene in Miami has long been at the center of the city’s cultural experience with influences in jazz, latin, hip-hop and more setting the stage for this exciting collaboration in live entertainment. The series will kick-off in June 2021 with more to be announced.
