On August 11th, Victor Wooten Trio came back once again full force to Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom with Roosevelt Collier to amaze their audience once again. As many of you probably know, Victor Wooten holds a reputation as one of the best bassists in the world. By his side, outstanding drummer Dennis Chambers, & powerful saxophonist Bob Franceshini, made for an excellent show.

Béla Fleck & The Flecktones started out in 1988 when Béla put the band together for a TV show called The Lonesome Pine Specials. 30 years later, the original lineup is heading out on the road for 13 shows this Summer. 

Five-time GRAMMY award-winning bass player, producer, composer, author, and educator Victor Wooten will release his first album in five years, TRYPNOTYX, September 8. In support of the album, he will hit the road with the Victor Wooten Trio this fall following August dates with Béla Fleck & The Flecktones of which he is a founding member. Dylan Muhlberg of Grateful Web. I am thrilled to be joined by Grammy Award winning bassist Victor Wooten. His virtuosic techniques have yielded an illustrious solo career and continuing collaborations with music legends of similar caliber such as Bela Fleck and Stanley Clarke.

After a particularly grueling winter, festivalgoers around the country are dreaming of their summer getaways and for many music fans, this means a breathtaking weekend at Summer Camp Music Festival 2014. What started as roughly a 1,000 person gathering has blossomed into a 7-stage, 15,000 person event that stands as one of the Midwest’s premier festivals today.

Spring is right around the corner and for many excited festival attendees the anticipation is building for the annual Summer Camp Music Festival, held at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. Since 2001, Summer Camp has consistently brought some of the largest acts in jam, electronic, bluegrass, hip-hop, and many other genres, and this year is no exception.

The Victor Wooten Band put on a show featuring four bassists, all switching up on multiple instruments at various times during their set, along with a vocalist with a truly, truly unforgettable voice plus two extremely talented drummers.  Their set was as unique as it was enjoyable. If rhythm sections float your boat, you better be prepared for a musical tsunami with this bunch.
