After 5 years and more than 450 shows as a band, Desmond Jones has finally released their debut studio album. The self-titled album was released on Saturday night to a capacity crowd at Founders Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids. Desmond Jones features eight original songs, a wide variety of instrumentation, and unique musical compositions. NPR calls it a showcase of “eclectic musical diversity”.

Desmond Jones spotlights four different songwriters from within the band resulting in a wide array of musical styles and influences. “We ended up going with a mix of songs that gives the listener a little bit of everything we have to offer,” says drummer John Nowak. “A short and sweet song, some extended jams, a little bit of R&B, a little bit of funk and jazz. We wanted it to span across genres and show the many facets of our original sound and songwriting process.”

Recorded in Webberville, MI at Inmuso Studios with Kevin McKay, the album was mixed by Alex Gauthier and mastered by Glenn Brown who has recently worked with Greensky Bluegrass, Eminem, and Billy Strings. The album is available on iTunesSpotifybandcamp, and SoundCloud.

The five-piece group has been ambitiously traveling the country with a rigorous touring schedule that, until recently, took priority over time in the recording studio. With over 65 original songs in live rotation, the band now plans to continue recording and releasing new material on a much more consistent basis.

Desmond Jones will be playing shows in the Midwest and beyond in support of the new record. The group has just signed with Ever Upward Entertainment out of Denver, CO and plans to hit the road hard in 2018.
