Indie singer/songwriter Trevor Sensor teases his new album A Few Tears of Eros with the bluesy rocker “The Farm” out today on High Black Desert Records. The single and accompanying video premiered earlier this week on  Under The Radar: “...his reedy Dylan-esque croon… bar-burning guitar solo… draws out all of the ambient tension, fury and frustration churning away in the track, fully letting loose in a climatic storm of unbridled emotion.”

The winner of the prestigious Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition (2022), 23-year-old singer Lucía releases her debut album on La Reserve Records on Friday, May 16, 2025 (PRE-SAVE ALBUM). Produced by Matt Pierson (Samara Joy, Brad Mehldau, Milton Nascimento), Lucía spotlights an exquisite versatility and superb technique as she covers American jazz classics and selections from the Latin American songbook.

Today, the Silverlake Conservatory Of Music proudly unveils Our Loving Tribute to the Pretenders—an EP featuring three iconic Pretenders covers performed by the SCM All-Stars, an ensemble of the Conservatory’s exceptional youth musicians. Executive produced by Flea, bassist and founding member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, alongside Merck Mercuriadis, founder of Hipgnosis Songs, the project showcases the passion and skill of the Conservatory’s talented students.

Riding the momentum of her breakout single “Marry Jane,” country darling and singer-songwriter Abbie Callahan returns with “Yo-Yo,” a twangy, emotionally tangled track that captures all the dizzying ups and downs of a fleeting romance.
 

When Taiwanese-born pianist Jo-Yu Chen moved to New York to study at Juilliard, she had every intention of continuing on the classical career path she’d followed as a student of both piano and oboe. It wasn’t long, however, before she detoured into the world of jazz, continuing her studies at the New School and falling under the influence of adventurous pianists like Jason Moran, Sam Yahel and Kevin Hays.

“We didn’t go in to record a bluegrass meets 90’s country record,” says Deanie Richardson, award-winning fiddler and a founding member of twice GRAMMY-nominated Sister Sadie. “However, as the record progressed, it quickly turned into my most favorite record I’ve ever done. Each song is personal to us all.”
