Announcing his first single release of 2018, Canadian alt-folk/rock artist 'Hail Taxi' releases his digital download and official lyric video for the acoustic guitar driven track 'Magic Spark'.

Drawing upon life experiences as the foundations for his lyrical approach, Nathaniel Sutton (aka Hail Taxi') carefully melds together a tasteful infusion of traditional folk, alternative country and indie pop rock. The experienced musician with a distinctively soulful and husky toned vocal delivery - has witnessed his credibility and popularity as an emerging songwriter grow beyond his native homeland in recent years. After releasing several records via his own label imprint 'Oak Apple Records', 'Hail Taxi's' uniqueness was recognised by UK/US indie label 'Engineer Records' who continue to nurture Nathaniel's creativity and originality.

In the artists own words - 'Magic Spark goes out to all the people who are searching for something, whatever that something is'

Now under the guiding wing of (UK/US) label Engineer Records, the Kent (UK) based alchemist of alternative folk-rock unleashes his official video single for 'Pushing Me Away'.

Currently writing and producing material for release later this year, Steve Hewitt has honed his song & stage craft through extensive gigging both in the UK and overseas raking in support slots with the likes of Star Sailor, Toploader, The Hoosiers and Newton Faulkner. Adding further to his credentials, the accomplished musician has toured in the US with the Reed Brothers.

Blending a diverse mix of genres and influences into his music, the young Steve Hewitt developed his love for music and creativity during his mid-teens. Reclusively refining his guitar and vocal skills in his garden shed, Steve immersed himself in the song-writing finesse of Bob Dylan, The Smiths, James Morrison, Ben Howard, Fink, John Legend and his frequent vocal comparator David Gray. What emerged from this education was an understanding and appreciation for melody, emotive hook links, articulate song dynamics and instrumentation. The very key ingredients that makes Steve Hewitt an exciting new artist who can draw upon influences to create his own unique voice.

Generating over 400,000 views since its arrival online in November - Musician's Ben Potts and Andy Green from Sunderland and Newcastle share news of their 'Alternative John Lewis Advert 2019'.

The North-East England duo have self-funded the video to raise money for both Make A Wish UK and Age UK charities. Accompanying the emotive visual story line is Ben & Andy's rendition of Nothing Ever Happens by Del Amitri which also features live orchestra 'Crude Strings' and choral vocals from 'Tyneside Voices'.

With an estimated 13,000 children to be spending Christmas in hospital and over 530,000 elderly people enduring the festive season alone this year - Ben & Andy are aiming to raise multiple thousands for both charities.

British acoustic singer-songwriter Steve Hewitt has a long-standing reputation of producing music from the heart, unafraid to deliver soul bearing lyrically honesty. He maintains this tradition with the release of his new single entitled Fly. A beautifully simple structured creation that emanates with Country overtones and carried by Hewitt's distinctive vocal tone and emotive delivery.

The self-proclaimed 'Americana with English roots' artist hails from Kent (UK). Raised on an eclectic mix of genres, Steve is noted for drawing upon a pool of influences from traditional folk-roots through to modern pop rock. As a cult-following musical maverick, he remains artistically comfortable with never fitting in perfectly within any specific stylistic category. It's this cross-genre appeal of his music that has seen him to open stages for a diverse range of artists such as Newton Faulkner, Jenn Bostic, Emma Stevens, Toploader, Ronan Keating, Jaz Ellington plus many more. As a seasoned live performer, Steve has built his stellar reputation through persistent gigging and appearances at major events such as Black Deer Festival and Car Fest along with various community festivals around the UK. The launch of his 2019 debut album Bigger Than Words received accolades from several national music magazines and propelled Steve's music to be aired on independent radio stations around the globe. With momentum naturally affected by the Covid-19 lock downs, Steve sought to complete material for his crowd-funded sophomore album. As a gift to dedicated fans and followers, Fly is the second in a trilogy of single releases whilst work is underway with his long-awaited 'Never Two Days the Same' LP.

New single 'Fly' was roused by Steve's inner struggles of pursuing his own creative ambitions but feeling held back by challenging events, commitments and life decisions.  A profound conversation with an old friend thousands of miles away triggered the metaphorical hook line 'It's hard having wings and not being able to fly'. A moment of inspiration was sparked, and the creative process began. Hewitt has always been a writer of earnestness, authenticity and relatable themes. Deeply engrained in his song craft is his capacity to openly wear his heart on his sleeve.

Produced by fellow British songwriter James Kirby; an internationally touring and award-winning performer in his own right, - Fly by Steve Hewitt was released independently on 7th October 2022 and available on digital platforms.

Jealous Man is the dark-hued and brooding new single from British singer-songwriter Steve Hewitt. With it's open-hearted delivery, intimate story telling and folk-roots influences, the song is the latest in a stream of releases from an independent artist exploring the dimensions of Americana, Country and Alt-Folk.

The track witnesses Hewitt embracing one of his most organic and solitary efforts to date. Clocking in at just under three minutes long, the song is unashamedly one man, his smoky baritone vocals and finger-picked acoustic guitar. The intentionally stripped-back studio production is tastefully enhanced by additional vocal lifts and violin lines from Dalma Gebe. Jealous Man is a lyrical tale of bullying and bigotry, akin in essence to the darker minor key moments of artists such as Mark Knopfler, Johnny Cash and Ry Cooder.

The working-class troubadour hails from the English county of Kent. Steadily building his reputation over many years on the live circuit, Hewitt is well noted for his ability to reflect real life experiences through earnest lyricism, skilfully crafted melodies and genre blurring stylings. Along with festival appearances and opening stages for various artists including Newton Faulkner, Jaz Ellington, Jenn Bostic, Toploader and The Bluetones, Steve's music has received radio play around the world. His previous and Country-laden single 'Fly' earned him Richer Unsigned's 'Artist of The Week' spotlight and showcased him as a short listed contender for The Country Network's (TNC) 'Next Big Twang' contest. Hewitt's newest effort Jealous Man, further demonstrates an authentic writer who excels with the creative freedom to be unpredictable.

Recorded by Steve Hewitt & Charlie Rivers and mixed/mastered by Rob Townley - Jealous Man will be available on digital platforms from 26th May 2023.
