Buffalo’s New York’s favorite groove rock act Aqueous will release their 3rd studio effort - Cycles - on October 21 2014. Fans can pre-order the album now via the bands merch page http://aqueous1.bandcamp.com/merch and physical copies will be available at fall shows starting October 23.

Featuring eight road tested tracks and 2 brand new instrumentals composed since the 2012 release Willy is 40,  Cycles showcases the bands incredible growth and focus on songwriting. Lead single “20/20”, released today, is now available for streaming on YouTube:

"This is the most invested we've been in a studio effort so far- it feels really cohesive, and we were truly afforded the opportunity to spend the time elaborating on ideas and being thorough in our execution of them," explained guitarist Mike Gantzer. "We all feel a true sense of accomplishment and excitement for our fans to hear this- it contains some of the most intense and thematic compositions in our catalog, and generally speaking feels like a profound step for us."

Guitarist/keyboardist David Loss adds his own thoughts on the recording process - "I couldn't be happier with the way this album came together. Everyone gave their best performances and I think it really shows. It was great to work with Justin Rose and Richie English again at GCR Audio in Buffalo as well as finally getting a chance to work with Jocko at More Sound. This was an all around great experience!"

To celebrate the release the band will play a three night run through upstate New York with North Carolina’s hottest band The Mantras. The album release extravaganza begins October 23 at The Dock in Ithaca New York and continues at Rochester’s Montage Music Hall (Oct 24) before culminating in Aqueous’ return home at Buffalo’s Iron Works; a show destined to rage into the wee hours of the morning.

Sat, 08/06/2016 - 11:15 am

Aqueous is bringing their genre-bending funkadelic groove rock out on Random Company fall tour across the country with multiple festivals and some sexy show partners. August will see Aqueous making their 3rd straight visit to the fruit-tastic Peach Festival in Scranton, PA and continuing a themed residency at Baltimore’s 8x10 club with moe. and Red Hot Chili Peppers shows lined up on Aug. 17 and 31.  AQ will also bring their soaring melodies to headline all three nights of the annual Night Lights Music Festival in Sherman NY at the hallowed grounds of Blue Heron fest.

September spotlights some tasty opening slots with Twiddle in CT (Sep. 9), Everyone Orchestra in Syracuse, NY (Sep. 15) and across the border in Toronto Sep. 30 w/ The Werks. October starts out at Flour City Station in Rochester, NY before a three night E.P. release weekend in hometown Buffalo at Iron Works and Burlington, VT at Nectar’s. Late October brings the boys back to Colorado for a jaunt with the excellent Perpetual Groove. November brings the guys back to NYC for a Phish Tribute celebration at Brooklyn Bowl. More late fall shows are expected to be announced.

Aqueous is also elated to announce new permanent drummer Rob Houk. Rob has been playing with the band the past few months and accepted the gig for good in June. Houk started drumming at age five, completely self-taught, and has never looked back. He cites major old school influences like John Bonham, Keith Moon, and Neil Peart as well as newer influences such as Carter Beaufort, Jon Fishman, and Kris Myers. Rob is currently Cincinnati based but plans to relocate to Buffalo within the next year.

Rob Houk on joining Aqueous: I couldn't be more excited for the future. These guys put in so much hard work over the past ten years. I'm really lucky to be able to join them on this adventure. With the great attitude and effort these guys all put forth they really push me to be a better musician.
