The Devil Makes Three (TDM3), whose latest album Chains Are Broken (New West Records) debuted in the Top 10 Bluegrass Charts and has spurred a successful two-year U.S. and international tour, are showing no signs of slowing down. The Americana triumvirate has revealed that they will be embarking on a U.S. winter tour that will have them performing nearly 20 dates in less than a month.

Kicking off January 16 in Fairfield, CT and hitting such legendary venues as The Orange Peel (Ashville, NC) and White Oak Music Hall (Houston, TX) along the way, the tour will culminate February 8 in Austin, TX. The group has also announced that MorganEve Swain, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for Brown Bird and The Huntress And Holder Of Hands, will join them on this run in the absence of Lucia Turino (upright bassist and backing vocalist), who recently parted ways with the band. According to TDM3’s Pete Bernhard, the decision to invite Swain to join them on the road was an easy one as they are long-time friends and collaborators.

“Inviting MorganEve on this tour was an easy and natural decision; in fact, it was actually Lucia’s idea,” said Bernhard. “She’s worked with us many times and has even joined us on stage on fiddle and cello when we toured with Brown Bird. It’s going to be great to be performing with her again.”

Tickets for the dates go on sale Friday, October, 25th at 10 AM local time, and are available at http://thedevilmakesthree.com/tour.

TDM3’s 2018 release of Chains Are Broken is the band’s first record of original songs since 2013’s I’m a Stranger Here, which marked  their first appearance on the Billboard Top 200. Heralded as the trio’s most sophisticated effort to date and exhibiting their willingness to “push beyond [their] somewhat cult audience” (American Songwriter), Chains Are Broken continues to resonate with fans thanks to Pete Bernhard’s mature, provocative lyrics and vocals and guitar/banjo aficionado Cooper McBean’s signature style.

However, success is not something new for this nearly 20-year band. TDM3’s explosive self-titled 2002 debut album yielded such classics as “Old Number Seven,” “Graveyard,” “The Plank,” and more, and the group has since organically attracted a diehard following through constant touring and subsequent hit albums.

Each critically-acclaimed and beloved by fans, these releases include: Longjohns, Boots and a Belt (2004), Do Wrong Right (2009) and the 2016 release of Redemption & Ruin, which earned  TDM3 their second #1 bow and fourth consecutive top-five debut on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums Chart. This pivotal album also garnered widespread acclaim from the likes of Entertainment Weekly, American Songwriter, The Boston Globe and more.

Capitalizing on the momentum from Chains Are Broken, the band is currently writing a new album with new material scheduled to be released later next year.

Over the years, TDM3 has cast an unbreakable spell on audiences everywhere from Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Hangout Fest, Shaky Knees and the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

The Devil Makes Three’s Frontman/Guitarist Pete Bernhard is best known for his unbridled, barn-burning performances and driving roots, rock and bluegrass sound. However, with the release of his third solo album Harmony Ascension Division (Kahn) April 24 he is now showing a whole other side to the story.

Featuring nine original unreleased tracks, the new record is described by Bernhard as a “folk album that gave me a chance to worship some of my heroes” and one that he says is deeply personal.

Pete Bernhard: Harmony Ascension Division

“This record is about friendships, relationships, success, happiness and failure. Harmony. Ascension. Division.”, Bernhard said, “Many of these songs are about friends from my early teens and ‘20s so I thought the best way to talk about them would be by playing the way I did back then.”

To do so, Bernard headed back to his home state of Vermont during a break from his rigorous touring schedule with TDM3 last year and recorded the album in a small studio in the mountains with esteemed engineer Bill Esses. As the producer for the project, Bernhard enlisted fellow friends and musicians Robin Macarthur (backing vocals) and Tyler Gibbons (Bass) to help fill out the beautifully-simplistic songs and add to his signature finger-picking style.

“These songs are quieter and more personal than most of the songs I have written for the band,” Bernhard said. “This album is more like the original solo stuff I wrote before TDM3 formed. “These are all the songs that did not quite fit into the band instrumentation of TDM3 so you could say this album is sort of me going back to my roots.”

To support the release of the album, Bernhard is launching a U.S. and international radio campaign and hopes to schedule a series of solo performances around TDM3’s rescheduled tour dates. For the latest news and show dates, visit https://www.petebernhard.com/music.

The official track listing for Harmony Ascension Division is as follows:

I Knew You

Land Of Milk & Honey

Can’t Find You

Fool’s Gold

Dancin’

Down The Line

Long Night

Waiting For You

Lightening

Prior to Harmony Ascension Division, Bernhard released two solo albums with each receiving rave reviews. His debut, independently-released record Things I Left Behind (2006) was, as he says, “basically just me and a guitar, and a sense of introspection”. Both were deemed departures from TDM3’s driving, bluegrass rock sound, while continuing to capture the soul-searching essence and musical dexterity that Bernhard has become known for.

Bernhard continues to write, record and tour with TDM3 and rescheduled dates are available here: www.thedevilmakesthree.com

Known for their bombastic, groove-infested R&B and rollicking retro rock vibe, Vintage Trouble has announced the release of its sobering, new social distanced-inspired single “Outside-In” on all DSPs starting May 1.

Frontman Ty Taylor says that the song was written to shine a light on the mental health effects of isolation amidst the pandemic and was inspired by conversations with loved ones in quarantine and recent study of the work of Maya Angelou.

“’Outside-In’ is the song of a caged bird lamenting its imprisonment,” he said. “We were thinking about ways to not only reach out to and coddle the souls of our stressed and distressed TroubleMakers, but at the same time to exercise our undying passion for creating, arranging, recording, performing and most importantly, connecting.”

With this urgency driving them from their quarantine quarters, each member of Vintage Trouble recorded his part at home, while filming the recording process and threading it all together over a 48-hour period to create the song and video for “Outside-In”. The video for “Outside-In” can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlANpm3VdGo.

“The separation makes the longing for each other more fierce but, at the same time, it doesn’t mean that humans can’t work together through this tragedy,” Taylor said. “We have to work harder because we need to think unconventionally but we can still get the job done.  We can still connect even though we can’t hug. We can still use our words although we cannot freely kiss. We can hold each other up without hands.”

To further their message of hope, unity and connection, Vintage Trouble is donating proceeds from “Outside-In” to The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-8255).

#WomxnCrush Music has announced a nationwide virtual tour to support and connect local music communities across 15 U.S. cities. Beginning in August, the non-profit arts organization, which is dedicated to creating opportunities for rising womxn songwriters, will partner with venues and sponsors at each tour stop to donate proceeds to participating Womxn/BIPOC-Owned venues and artists. A full list of cities and a link to RSVP is available here.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, #WCM, like many other organizations, had to navigate how to best support their communities and come together, while staying apart. This has meant shifting their showcase programming to virtual, hosting weekly Instagram Live sessions featuring artists from their nationwide community while partnering with larger brands to engage new audiences. They’ve continued to bring valuable and timely information to their community through webinars with CDBaby, Songtrust & more, as well as increasing their output of artist releases and think pieces on their blog, #TheCrush. They’ve also recently launched Song Sessions, a chance for the #WCM community to submit songs for critiquing by established songwriters and industry members.

“When COVID-19 hit, I knew that as a community-focused organization we had to continue supporting our community in any way we possibly could,” Founder/CEO Ashley K. Stoyanov states. “While the weekly Instagram Lives and webinars were reaching an international audience and were a valuable resource, we wanted a way to help further connect the rising womxn songwriter community on a local level, as well as help support local music venues who truly make the local music scenes in these communities special. We have always wanted our events to be a place where womxn songwriters can find their next collaborators for shows and to share resources, and we hope that we can continue doing that even if it is virtually through this pandemic.”

The tour kicks off August 6 in the San Francisco Bay Area and will continue through mid-December, spotlighting a new city or region every two weeks. In addition to songwriter showcases, they will also team up with local industry professionals to host panel discussions and webinars. #WCM’s goal is to partner with local womxn/BIPOC owned music venues to support them with 100% of the proceeds from showcase ticket sales. They will be partnering with sponsors and have launched a Facebook Fundraiser to help pay the artists and support tour costs (10% of all donations will go to Public Functionary - #CreativesAfterCurfew).

The tour will run through mid-December and will hit the following cities/areas:

San Francisco Bay Area - 8/6

South Florida & Atlanta - 8/17 to 8/28

Portland & Seattle - 8/31 to 9/11

Austin - 9/14 to 9/25

Acclaimed singer-songwriter Hillary Reynolds, who is best known for co-writing one of Little Big Town’s latest hits from their 2020 #1 Billboard-charting album Nightfall, has released her new solo single “What Faith Is”. Available now on all DSPs, proceeds from the single benefit the Loveland Therapy Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing therapy support – primarily mental health therapy – to black women and girls.

According to Reynolds, “What Faith Is” was inspired by the heroism, selflessness and sheer sense of community that emerged in the face of the Pandemic. In essence, she says it was a song that not only yearned to be written – but one that she personally needed at that point in her life.

“This song came from a place of helplessness and was the product of overwhelm right after the Pandemic hit,” Reynolds said. “Like a lot of people, I was hanging on-to every next news article. It became a main source of anxiety and the PPE shortage really capped it all off for me. But then I started seeing all of these stories about people helping one another. They were stepping up, taking matters into their own hands, and making masks. They were Hope. Next thing I knew, I was at the piano and writing ‘What Faith Is’.”

To accompany the song, Reynolds has also unveiled an emotional video celebrating the heroes of the Pandemic. Featuring actual footage, most of which was shot on cell phones by friends and family in her hometown of Appleton, WI, of mask makers, frontline workers, assisted living caregivers, and neighbors helping neighbors, Reynolds says the “What Faith Is” video is her “small contribution to add hope to the world.”

The video was produced by Reynolds and Jay Westcott and can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/J9WzjWbu9zk

“What Faith Is” is Reynolds’ first solo release since her 2012 self-titled debut EP. Since then, she has spent her time in LA songwriting and collaborating with writers from Warner/Chappell Music and Sony/ATV as well as film composers such as Andy Forsberg for scores/songs in feature film projects for Lifetime and Netflix. Her Americana/Pop trio Peridot also signed a licensing agreement with Aperture Music with owner Jonathan Leahy (HBO Girls, New Girl), Reynolds now writes with Charlie Snyder (Machine Gun Kelly), Mike Jade (Backstreet Boys, Andy Grammar) and Dani Rose and Kalie Shorr (Honey County).

Protest marches. Riots. Contentious and divisive politics and a public divided along partisan lines. If it seems like America has suddenly been thrust back into the late 1960s, one band has the soundtrack for it. Gathering Time, the acclaimed Long Island-based folk-rock harmony trio that traces its musical roots to that generation-defining decade, has announced the release of their new album Old Friends on Tuesday, September 1. Available on all DSPs, the CD will feature reimagined and re-harmonized classics from the era when folk met rock ’n’ roll.

Among those is the iconic 1969 Youngbloods song “Get Together,” which the trio released as an advance single and has earned the #1 spot on The Folk Alliance International Folk DJ Chart for the month of July, 2020. Deciding to release the track in response to the Black Lives Matter protests, the racially charged reactions, the riots and the sometimes vitriolic polarization of public health, Stuart Markus, the group’s rhythm guitarist said, “It seemed a message that needed to be heard again, that what unites us is greater than what divides us, and that our better angels are stronger than our worst demons as a society. He added, “We are ecstatic that it has been so well received– we can’t thank the folk DJs enough for their support.”

If the timing for the album seems fortuitous, they hadn’t planned it that way. “We actually started working on the record almost three years ago,” said Markus who shares bass guitar, lead and background vocal duties with bandmates Hillary Foxsong and Gerry McKeveny “After the success of our last original CD, Keepsake, which took the #1 album, single, and artist honors on the Folk DJ Chart in March, 2016, we wanted to do one in tribute to the artists who influenced us, like The Byrds, Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, and Crosby, Stills & Nash.”

One thing that was a deliberate decision, according to the band, was to include a number of socially conscious songs from the era that have gained renewed relevance to current times. “Turn! Turn! Turn!” leads off the album. “It speaks to the fact that life runs in cycles and history is like a pendulum,” Markus said. “What we’re going through now, racial strife, civil unrest, economic and political crises, we’ve endured as a nation and a society, and as a human race, before. We can get through this — hopefully emerging the better.”

When the trio started the album, it seemed like it would be a fairly straightforward recording process. Most of the material was songs they had cycled regularly in and out of their live sets and knew down cold. “But then someone would come up with a new groove on a song, or we decided to take advantage of the studio capabilities and add extra harmony tracks”, Markus said. “We had tours and specialty shows that required rehearsing which took away from recording time; the studio computer had a hard-drive melt-down and needed to be rebuilt; family issues came up; one of our members’ day-job schedule got onerous. After a while it felt like some unseen force was holding us back saying, ‘It’s not time to release this just yet.’”

Other songs on the album include “Abraham, Martin & John,” an elegy to assassinated leaders who took strong stands on civil rights; “At 17,” which addresses the issue of teenage rejection and depression and “Hazy Shade of Winter” and “River,” which speak to feelings of disconnectedness and loneliness during the holiday season.

Not that it’s all heavy and serious. “You Were On My Mind” is about the unbridled joy of falling in love while “Hurry Sundown” is about the need to put work down, enjoy leisure time and recharge to face tomorrow. The album ends on a positive note with CSNY’s “Carry On” with its promise “Love is coming to us all”.

Old Friends is Gathering Time’s fifth studio album and was recorded at Wrong Side of the Tracks Studio in Oyster Bay, NY. It was produced by the trio with engineer Ted Stoforos. Their most recent album, Keepsake, took the #1 album and single honors on the Folk-DJ Chart in March 2016 and received #1 artist honors that same month with six songs in the top-25. Their previous releases also charted in the top five with When One Door Closes ... hitting #3 on the Folk-DJ Chart for January 2014 with three songs in the Top-20 and Red Apples and Gold landing at #5 on the Folk DJ Chart and #12 on the Roots Music Report Folk & Roots Country Chart for October 2012.

The official track listing for Old Friends is:

Turn! Turn! Turn! (Seeger)

Hurry Sundown (Harburg/Robinson)

Get Together (Powers)

Hazy Shade (Simon)

River (Mitchell)

If You Could Read My Mind (Lightfoot)

"To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven." These timeless words from the Book of Ecclesiastes have echoed through the ages, in both scripture and song, offering hope and understanding when needed most. Now, thanks to chart-topping folk-rock/Americana harmony trio Gathering Time, the iconic prose once again takes on renewed relevance as they release a video for their rendition of the Pete Seeger classic “Turn! Turn! Turn!” from their latest album Old Friends.

Describing it as both “reassuring and energizing,” the band says the video will be unveiled Friday, October 2, just after the Jewish New Year high holidays and at the beginning of the festival of Sukkot, when Ecclesiastes is traditionally read.  Edited by Efrat Shapira of Efrat Productions, it incorporates footage from three different outdoor performances this summer, and utilizes images reflecting the Covid pandemic and social protests to link the ancient words to the current era. View video here: https://youtu.be/dXx3ctHGtBw

"If there's one thought that has kept me grounded and staved off a sense of depression for me, it's that as a society and a human race we've been through this before, even worse. This song and video reflect that and remind us that there is always hope,” says vocalist, bassist and rhythm guitarist Stuart Markus. A self-described history buff, he adds, "We've seen that history goes in cycles, good times and bad, conflict and peace, sickness and health, boom and bust. While it can be depressing to realize that the good times won't last, it's comforting to remember the bad times won't either."

Their album Old Friends, a tribute to the folk and folk-rock greats of the 1960s and '70s, was officially released Sept. 1 and was quickly embraced by folk DJs around the U.S., Canada and overseas.

"We're fortunate that we’ve established great relationships with the folk DJ community over the last decade with our last four albums of mostly originals so we are thrilled that Old Friends has resonated with them as much as it has, " Markus says.

Gathering Time’s advance single from Old Friends, "Get Together," (the Youngbloods hit from 1969), took the #1 song spot on the Folk Alliance International Folk DJ Chart for July; however this isn’t the first time the trio has earned a #1 – their March, 2016 release Keepsake earned the #1 album, #1 song and #1 artist honors.

Attributing part of the success of the single to its relevance to current times, Markus says other songs on the current album are also applicable to today’s turbulent culture, including "Abraham, Martin & John," an elegy to assassinated leaders, "Hurry Sundown," about the need to turn off and tune out the world, "At Seventeen," Janis Ian's timeless ode of teenage rejection, and "And When I Die," Laura Nyro and Blood Sweat & Tears' classic about life and the legacy one might leave behind.

Other songs on the album include two tracks to bookend a relationship, "You Were On My Mind" (S. Fricker) and "If You Could Read My Mind" (G. Lightfoot), and "Ripple," the classic originally by the Grateful Dead.

"Before it became almost synonymous with singer-songwriters," adds Markus, "the term 'folk music' usually meant singing songs that had been written long before, sometimes so far back their authorship had been lost. With this album, we hope to make the case that the tradition applies to rock-era music too, and to remind a whole lot of people how wonderful and relevant these songs still are."

Women start your engines! Critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter and advocate Meghan Cary has announced that she and her River Rock Project team are, once again, teaming up with Vision 2020’s Women 100 to celebrate the centennial of women's voting rights and inspire voter turnout for the 2020 election with their latest endeavor – the SHE Leads Road Rally.

Led by women race car drivers, the SHE Leads Road Rally will depart from Drexel University’s Queen Lane campus on Friday, October 16 at 8 AM for a historic overnight trip to Seneca Falls, NY, the birthplace of the women’s rights movement. During the journey, Cary and River Rock correspondent Jennifer Rajotte will broadcast live from the rally on global internet radio station Folk Music Notebook. The station will coordinate a playlist of the best women artists, anchored by the Rally’s chosen anthem, Cary’s “River Rock,” with Cary reporting from the road. Tune in by downloading the Folk Music Notebook app for iOS or Android or visiting www.folkmusicnotebook.com.

Cary and the motorcade, which will feature approximately 20 specialty cars and other vehicles including the Philadelphia-based Committee of Seventy’s Voteswagon, will make a pit stop in Scranton on October 16 at approximately 10:30 AM where participants will be greeted by elected officials as well as members of Vision 2020 partner the Women’s Whistlestop, a nonpartisan voter registration organization.

The journey will conclude with a “finish line celebration” hosted by Vision 2020 at the Queen Lane campus on Saturday, October 17 at 4 PM where toasts, speakers and a special performance by Cary and musical partner Peter Farrell will wrap up the historic two-day event.

This will be the second time that Cary has partnered with Vision 2020 as part of the Women’s Suffrage Centennial celebration. In August, she debuted the video for her women’s empowerment anthem “River Rock” at Vision 2020’s “Toast To Tenacity” and performed live during their hybrid livestream show. “River Rock” inspired Cary’s equality-based initiative The River Rock Project which uses music to celebrate women’s rights, inspire continued action to achieve economic, social and political equality, and get out the vote.

“When Maureen approached me about creating an inspiring road trip playlist around “River Rock” and my other song “Drive”, I was thrilled – so much great female-fueled music to choose from for the Road Rally soundtrack,” said Cary. “But how to deliver the music to every car? That’s when Ron Olesko of Folk Music Notebook stepped in, and the idea – as River Rock Project ideas tend to do – grew like a chia pet! Ron was all-in to air great music to accompany the drivers up to Seneca Falls, and thought his listeners around the world might enjoy coming along for the ride, too. So, we decided that Jen and I would broadcast live from the road and share this historic trip with everyone. This is going to be a blast!”

A week before election day in one of the most contentious and discordant political years in more than half a century, folk-rock harmony trio Gathering Time has announced that they are unveiling a music video to appeal for unity and compassion on Tuesday, October 27, one week before Election Day at https://youtu.be/v-WlYwcMCXk.

“Get Together,” a song whose original version first hit the charts at a similar time 51 years ago, was the lead-off single to Gathering Time’s album Old Friends, and the #1 song on the Folk Alliance International Folk DJ Chart for July.

“This has been such a divisive year,” said band member Stuart Markus, who shares bass, acoustic guitar and vocal duties with bandmates Hillary Foxsong and Gerry McKeveny. “We’d decided a year and a half ago that we needed to include a number of socially conscious songs, in an album of classics. In June, when the Black Lives Matter protests were at their height and the denunciations from the political right were just as fierce, we decided to spotlight this song and its message. Now, with the election upon us and so many people nervous about what might happen next, we decided it was time to share it again.”

The video features footage of Gathering Time performing in several locations, most notably Heckscher Park in Huntington, Long Island, an iconic outdoor venue known for its weeks-long summer music festival that draws national talent. It also features a number of images from the year’s news headlines, visually connecting the decades-old song to current events. It was directed and edited by Efrat Shapira of Efrat Productions and includes footage shot by Robert Comforto of Video Masters and the band itself.

“History runs in cycles,” said Markus. “What we’re going through now echoes things that have happened before in this country and the world. It’s only natural that some songs from the past will resonate today. We wanted to show that this song’s message, that what unites us is greater than what divides us, really needs to be heard today. That’s one of the great traditions of folk music.”

Gathering Time has been touring on the regional and national folk circuit for over a decade, and is as well known for their interpretation of ‘60s classics as their originals. After four albums of mostly original material, they decided to record Old Friends, an album in tribute to the folk-rock acts of the 1960s and ‘70s that influenced them. Released on Sept. 1, it was the #1 album on the Folk DJ Chart for the month, and its seven songs in the top 20 landed them as the #1 artist.

“Get Together” features a well-known timeless refrain and an essential message for the times: “Everybody get together, try and love one another right now.”

Critically-Acclaimed Performer Mara Levine, who recently signed to renowned TN-based label Bell Buckle Records, has announced the release of her inspirational new video "You Reap What You Sow," just in time for the Fall harvest and the Thanksgiving holiday. Offering an uplifting message of hope and renewed growth, the video accompanies the first track off Levine’s top-charting album Facets Of Folk, which is slated to be re-released on Bell Buckle Records in January 2021.

View video here:   https://youtu.be/1qQ0mR4Smu8

Upon first hearing the song, written by Nashville songwriter Susan Shann (Mystic’s Mantra Music, ASCAP), Levine was moved. "The entire song resonated with me as a positive message about doing your best at whatever you do and reaping the rewards and fruits of your labors,” Levine said. “One could also interpret the song to mean caring for others and nurturing relationships, in particular keeping your word and your commitments, and that this will be returned to you in kind. I think that the message about caring for each other is timeless and more important now than ever. I hope that folks watching the video come away feeling positive, uplifted, and inspired."

Produced and directed by Bell Buckle Records CEO/Founder Valerie Smith, the "You Reap What You Sow” video pays homage to the song’s bucolic beauty by featuring scenes of Levine filmed amidst sunflowers and wildflowers, interspliced with creative storyboarding and self-shot socially distanced footage of each of the song’s musicians, including bluegrass stalwarts Greg Blake (Guitar, Harmony Vocals), Mollie O’Brien (Harmony Vocals), Rob Ickes (Dobro), Andy Leftwich (Mandolin), Mark Schatz (Bass), and Scott Vestal (Banjo).

"Valerie is a talented videographer and we'd been discussing how to shoot some quality footage of me for the video for several months but, of course, due to Covid-19, we were restricted on where and how we could film,” said Levine, who is based in New Jersey. “Finally, we hit on the idea of meeting at a farm close to where she travels to in Maryland for her business, and I found The Sunflower Garden, a wonderful pick-your-own-flower farm in Westminster, MD. Valerie made the trip from Nashville specifically to shoot the video, came up with a wonderful concept, and created an absolutely beautiful video! I am deeply appreciative of the time, effort, and care she has put into this production, which was made under such difficult circumstances, and I am very grateful to be part of the Bell Buckle Records, who are helping me achieve my goal of getting my music out to a much broader audience.”

"I'm excited that we added such an established folk/grassicana artist to our roster at Bell Buckle Records,” said Smith. “I believe that Mara is adding depth to our talent base and catalog offering for our customers and radio DJs. Mara is someone that I have been looking forward to working with on her music and career goals. Her voice is unique, her recordings are beautiful, and her talent as a musician is undeniable."

In conjunction with Bell Buckle Records re-release, Les Butler, of Butler Music Group and Family Music Group, will be sending "You Reap What You Sow" to Southern Gospel and Bluegrass Gospel radio programmers for January 2021.  Butler was impressed by the recording upon first listen and said "This song and this voice was a breath of fresh air the moment I heard "You Reap What You Sow." I am honored to represent Mara and this song as a single to Gospel radio worldwide!"\The track can be purchased for download here: https://maralevine.com/buy-music

Award Winning Singer Songwriter Laura Cheadle has but one wish for the holidays – to lift her fans’ spirits and bring back the true meaning of Christmas. The self-proclaimed purveyor of positivity, has released a pair of seasonal songs and videos “Christmas In My Life” and “Red Ain’t Everything” (The Rudolph Blues) – available now on all DSPs – that she hopes will evoke “that nostalgic Christmas feeling, no matter where they are on Christmas.”

“Christmas In My Life,” which showcases Cheadle’s more pop-infused sound with its upbeat tempo and catchy, sing-a-along chorus, was originally written by Cheadle in 2017 and reworked this year with the help of her father and Philadelphia music icon James Cheadle (Cheadle has worked with everyone from Jerry Ross for Jerry Butler, Harold Melvin, The Blue Notes and The O'Jays to DJ Jazzy Jeff, Don Cornell, The Four Aces, Grover Washington Jr. and The Soul Survivors) during Covid. An accompanying lyric video is available now at https://youtu.be/U0SJwv-j2wE.

"’Christmas In My Life’ came together from a very fond memory of playing in the snow as a kid,” said Cheadle. “When I initially wrote this song, I was on tour across the country thousands of miles away from home. I started getting that nostalgic yearning to be home as the holidays were fast approaching. With Covid keeping many families and loved ones apart this year, I felt like this song would resonate with those thinking of past Christmas traditions yet offering them a bit of positivity that ‘home’ is always in our hearts.”

The other half of Cheadle’s red-hot, two-part holiday release is the sultry, bluesy track “Red Ain’t Everything.” A twangy, tongue-in-cheek song written from Rudolph’s point of view, this standout single features some of Cheadle’s strongest soulful vocals juxtaposed with a rollicking harmonica played by her father and slide guitar performed by her brother Jimmy Cheadle. An accompanying lyric video is available now at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMjdslbb-a8&feature=youtu.be.

In addition to Jimmy Cheadle, both songs feature Cheadle’s family members including: her father James Cheadle, (Keyboard, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Background Vocals, Harmonica) and mother Sue Cheadle (Background Vocals).

“I hope my fans can get that nostalgic Christmas feeling, no matter where they are on Christmas,” said Cheadle. “That is why it was so special that I was able to record these songs with my family. Even though we are going through a lot this Christmas, I want to bring the love and coziness of this holiday. This is why these two Christmas singles meant a lot for me to release!”

Cheadle will celebrate the release of her seasonal singles with “A Very Cheadle Christmas” livestream performance at Facebook.com/lauracheadle with her family and bandmates on Friday, December 18 at 7 PM ET featuring soulful originals and holiday classics.

Cheadle’s holiday singles preview her much-anticipated new album Shine This Lifetime, which is slated for an early 2021 release. Describing the record as “all positivity, as that is what the world needs right about now,” this will be Cheadle’s ninth studio album.

Her previous releases earned her critical acclaim and highly-respected awards including “Best Indie Jazz/Blues Band” at WXPN sponsored Tri-State Indie Music Awards, named the "Musician Of The Decade 2020" for Elephant Talk Indie Music Awards, selected as one of “100 Women We Love” in Go Magazine, and declared a “Super Woman” in South Jersey Magazine.

She also recently became an Endorsed Artist for Traveler Guitar (home to such artists as Zac Brown, Aerosmith’s Tom Hamilton, Shinedown’s Eric Bass, and more) and has shared the stage with such esteemed bands and performers as The Jonas Brothers, Sister Hazel, Spin Doctors, Ryan Cabrera, Kasim Sulton, Terrence Simien, Garland Jeffreys, John Oates/Hall and Oates, Average White Band, Clarence Clemons III for Bruce Springsteen’s After Party and Constantine Maraoulis of American Idol.

Chart-topping singer-songwriter Lisa Jeanette, whose latest hit holiday song “Mrs. Claus” (featuring iconic Folk Artist Vance Gilbert) skyrocketed to #1 on the December 2020 Folk Alliance International (FAI) Folk DJ chart, has announced that her much-anticipated album Jellyfish on the Moon released March 1 on all DSPs.

Garnering early support from some of the top folk DJs in the country, Jeanette’s sophomore release debuted at #12 on the FAI Folk DJ Chart in December thanks to its breakout single and unique “Kaleidoscope Folk” sound as she describes it. With elements of folk, jazz and 1970s pop, Jeanette explains that her music is a reflection of the influences that are constantly evolving and changing with time, as well as her exposure to fellow artists that continue to amaze and inspire her.

“I always struggle with the question ‘who are your influences’ because there are too many to name,” said Jeanette. “I am the youngest of nine, so early influences span three generations of older siblings’ tastes. I even got influenced in the recording studio by the session musicians while making this album. Everyone I encounter is a possible influencer.”

Jellyfish on the Moon, whose title is loosely based on the true story of NASA’s experiment of sending jellyfish to the Space Station to study the effects of zero gravity on the sea creatures’ equilibrium after returning to Earth, embodies a whirlwind of topics, ranging from the wistful to the whimsical, each expertly showcasing Jeanette’s songwriting dexterity.

To ensure that this eclectic eccentricity translated seamlessly, Jeanette partnered with Producer Glenn Barratt of MorningStar Studio, to masterfully record her compositions with both bold choices and musical sensitivity. A “who’s who” of all-star musicians were also brought in to create the magical sound of the album including Ross Bellenoit (guitar), Erik Johnson (drums) and Chico Huff (bass), who provided a wonderful collaboration of ideas and took each song lyric to task, creating a variety of arrangements to keep the listener’s ear attuned.

Surprise guest appearances by renowned artists including Gilbert, who has served as a mentor to Jeanette for several years and contributes his wit and charm to the aforementioned chart-topping “Mrs. Claus,” and the highly acclaimed Jay Davidson on saxes and flutes can also be found on the album, while spotlight performers lend added surprises to some of Jeanette’s standout songs. One of these tracks is the upbeat albeit comical “Aging Like a Son of a B,” which includes fiddle riffs by Gary Oleyar; while the more serene “Top of the Ferris Wheel” features a frolicking cello played by Michael G. Ronstadt.

Jellyfish on the Moon leaves no subject unturned and even the topic of historical fiction is in the mix with The Brahms Trilogy – three songs that depict the intense love triangle of Robert and Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms, each song told from the character’s perspective. From there, the album delves into more topical issues including women’s empowerment with “Don’t Blame Me (Jolene’s Reply),” which offers the other woman’s side of the iconic Dolly Parton song, and “Still You Choose Love,” an anthemic track highlighting the bravery of the LGBTQ community and their commitment to love against adversity.

“I get inspired by everyday occurrences, a post on Instagram, a science show on TV, a book about a composer. In the case of ‘Don’t Blame Me (Jolene’s Reply),’ it was a challenge from a fellow singer-songwriter on Facebook. It usually happens organically, and I never know where the muse is going to show up next,” said Jeanette.

The official tracklisting for Jellyfish on the Moon is:

Darling Of The Muses

Sky Don’t Fall

Don’t Blame Me (Jolene’s Rely)

Never Been To War

Jellyfish On The Moon

For You And I

You Don’t Look My Way

Top Of The Ferris Wheel

Still You Choose Love

Mrs. Claus (Bonus Track)

Jellyfish on the Moon is Jeanette’s first full album release since her debut album Chasing Happy in 2017. Since that time, she was busy performing in and around the Philadelphia region at leading venues including The Kennett Flash, The Living Room, and Jamey’s House of Music. She also performed at many festivals like The Black Bear Festival in Goshen, CT, the Ladybug Festival, Wilmington DE, Turks Head Festival, The Downingtown Arts Festival, the Wayne Porch Festival, and the Chester County Restaurant Festival.

Jeanette’s performance at the 2020 Philadelphia Folk Festival Contest led her to be the first artist booked for the 2021 festival.

Acclaimed Jazz/Blues Artist Sara Michaels, who is renowned for her lush and soulful voice and captivating stage presence, has revealed details for the first single from a new collection of songs that she is currently working on. “Hard Winter,” which she says she wrote in the midst of the Pandemic as a way to “find hope, healing and joy again,” is available now on all DSPs, along with her poignant video https://youtu.be/extezvXW7FY.

Originally intended as a holiday gift for her family, “Hard Winter” was never meant to be released to the public. Nor was it ever imagined to serve as the debut track from a new collection of songs. However, according to the famed singer-songwriter, just like the twists and turns that have guided her life and career, there were bigger plans in store for her.

“I started out writing this song to my family,” she said. “But after reflecting on the past year – my own family’s losses, the death of parents and loss of jobs was one thing – but internalizing all of the struggles our county has endured during this pandemic is another. I looked for hope and somewhere to find joy. This joy for us was in the birth of our first Grandchild and I soon found myself writing something to try to inspire hope in others.”

Teaming up with long-time friend and esteemed jazz guitarist and composer E. Shawn Qaissaunee, as well as engineers Glenn Barratt and Dave Schonauer (Morning Star Studios), Michaels masterfully transformed the love letter to her family into a beautiful, albeit complicated and complex, ballad about the hard contrasts of life. Themes of dark and light, death and birth, wounded and healing, hate and love, and sorrow and joy are intricately woven throughout the textured lyrics and skillfully composed music. This enigmatic dichotomy is further enhanced by the high-caliber musicians she brought in to record the song.

Some of New York and Philadelphia region’s most preeminent jazz musicians including Zach Brock (Violin), Aaron Graves (Piano), Matthew Parrish (Bass) and Harry “Butch” Reed (Drums), created the stark highs and lows of the song and as Michaels says “dug deep with emotion and laid the spiritual foundation of the song, which was grounded firmly in love.”

To support the release of the “Hard Winter” single, Michaels is also unveiling an emotionally-stirring video, which she filmed with producer, editor, and good friend Helen Polise (Muthership Productions). The winter footage was shot by husband Michael Phelan and son Collin Phelan from the Brandywine Valley area and Collin’s winter travels.

“The video for ‘Hard Winter’ was a labor of love and total collaborative effort,” said Michaels. Helen Polise is known for creating amazing video content for national brands. Michaels said, “I was very fortunate to collaborate with her on this passion project. Helen’s magic is to match the imagery with the mood and the movement of the music. To have my husband, son and friends involved in the video, made it even more special. All of us bonded by the hardships of not traveling, touching or even kissing our grandchildren – it was very cathartic.”

94.3 FM The Shark (WWSK Long Island) Morning Show Host Brian Orlando has dedicated his life to music and amplifying the importance of mental health. Through his #Choosesong initiative, which he launched last year at the height of the Pandemic and social isolation he is successfully combining both of his passions by encouraging others to seek solace in the power of song.

Reminding listeners that “with music you are never alone,” Orlando is unveiling his second all-star artist collaboration with Vinnie Dombroski and Andy Patalan (Sponge), Brendan B Brown (Wheatus), Long Island favorites Black Suit Youth and a special appearance and message from the legendary "King Of Rock" DMC for their rendition of the iconic Stevie Wonder hit “I Just Called.” A quarantine-style video was also released at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iEqbmOQIJg.

"I got the idea for the quarantine video message when Vinnie from Sponge told me one of his favorite memories was singing the song with Brendan (Wheatus) over the phone to my Grandmother for her birthday,” said Orlando. “When I asked Darryl (McDaniels “DMC”) to be a part of it and explained the mission statement of reminding people that their voice can be a healing factor to others, he responded ‘no problem, it’s our obligation’ and he had the verse done three hours later.”

“I Just Called” is the second musical project that Orlando has coordinated featuring some of the industry’s heaviest hitters. The first was an original song released last year aptly titled “Choose Song,” which he started writing in 2017 as a way to make sense of Chris Cornell’s untimely death. With the help of such artists as Kevin Martin (Candlebox), Brendan B. Brown (Wheatus), Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge), Andy and Tim Patalan (Sponge), and Josh Devine (Session Musician/Live Drummer For One Direction), he finished the song, released a video and ultimately launched what is now the #ChooseSong initiative. View video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxEIt5GM-j0.

Serendipitously, while filming portions of the “Choose Song” video at the 1940’s Brewing Co. in Holbrook, NY, Orlando met Head Brewer and Owner Jon Brengel and the two partnered to create the Never Alone beer, which Orlando says was inspired by Dombroski and the “entire Sponge camp.” Known for their passion for craft beer, the band held weekly "Beer Sessions" live stream performances every Saturday at as a way to keep people together during the Pandemic.

Available at the 1940’s Brewing Co. and select regional locations, for every sale of the “Never Alone” beer, proceeds will go to suicide prevention. A QR code is also on the label, which brings customers to the “Choose Song” music video and provides mental health information.

SNZ’s most recent album Lost Songs of Doc Souchon debuted in late 2020. It features 10 tracks – a combination of newly-penned Zippers songs, along with a few tunes from past times – and has received acclaim from fans and critics alike.

Prior to Lost Songs of Doc Souchon, their most recent studio album Beasts Of Burgundy was released in 2018 and debuted at #4 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart upon its release. It was back in 1998 when SNZ released their first and only Holiday album titled Christmas Caravan, which went on to sell a quarter of a million copies and reached #12 on the Billboard Holiday Albums chart.

SNZ began their musical journey in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in the mid 1990s, as a musician’s escape from the cookie-cutter world of modern rock radio at the time. Mathus, along with drummer/percussionist Chris Phillips, formed the band as a casual musical foray among friends and family in the area.  It wasn’t long before the band’s quirky mix of jazz chords, folk music, and punk rock leanings spread out of the region and attracted a national audience.

Since reactivating in mid-2016, SNZ have been performing to packed houses across the country and around the world.  As Mathus has said since the band’s re-launch, “it’s not a reunion, it’s a revival.”

The concert, which was held Saturday, July 30 at the Paramount Hudson Valley Theater in Peekskill, NY, raised over $90,000 thanks to ticket sales and an exclusive autographed guitar auction with axes signed by Ace Frehley, Stone Temple Pilots, King’s X, Steven Adler, Extreme, Buckcherry, and Fozzy. 100 percent net proceeds will be donated directly to DZF, which was created by David Z’s brother Paulie Z, who performed in the power trio ZO2 with him and starred alongside him in their own TV series “Z Rock” on the IFC network. Known together as “The Z Brothers,” they were very active in developing young people through music and to continue the legacy, the DZF was created to raise money for music education in David Z’s memory.

“D.A.V.E. JAM was the first live event by DZF. The foundation is intentional about maintaining the delicate balance of youth-centered work and professional music production. David embodied this juxtaposition in his daily life,” said Paulie Z. “The goal of this concert was not only to raise both money for the foundation, but also awareness of the work they do. Stone Temple Pilots was one of David’s favorite bands and a headliner for the event could not have been more perfect.”

In keeping with DZF’s initiative to empower young musicians, there was a special pre-show performance by the students at School of Rock Clark. Other highlights of the night included the return of ZO2, the band that David Z was in with his brother and DZF founder Paulie Z, who performed a special reunion show. The lineup featured singer/guitarist Paulie Z (Z Rock, ZO2, Bohemian Queen, Sweet ), drummer Joey Cassata (Z Rock, ZO2, director of School of Rock Clark) and guest bassist Sean McNabb (Sons of Anarchy, Dokken, Great White).

The show was presented by the David Z Foundation and Loaded Concerts and sponsored by RCF Speakers,Lanza Family Foundation and WinSongs Music Publishing. The auctioned guitars were provided by Ace Frehley, Guitar Center (West Hollywood, CA), Sweetwater (Fort Wayne, IN), The Music Connection (Chico, CA), and Division Street Guitars (Peekskill, NY).

On the heels of the success of her critically-acclaimed album Jump In! (BFD/The Orchard) and its chart-topping title track, which peaked at #21 on the Billboard A/C Indicator chart, Alt-Americana Artist Lisa Bouchelle has revealed that she will embark on a U.S. Fall tour with Squeeze Co-Founder Glenn Tilbrook. Kicking off September 14 in Ridgefield, CT at the Ridgefield Playhouse and crisscrossing the country, hitting such iconic venues as the Tupelo Music Hall, Ram’s Head Stage, and Darryl’s Place, the tour will culminate in Atlanta, GA on October 11 at the Variety Playhouse.

To celebrate, Bouchelle has also announced that she will be releasing three bonus tracks for the album, which will be available Friday, September 23 on all DSPs. According to the Relix magazine “On The Rise Artist,” the focus track is a brand new song entitled “Waterproof.”

The other two singles will include an acoustic version of a song from the album Jump In!, entitled “I Believe,” which features Bouchelle on ukulele and Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band members Peter Mayer on guitar and mandolin and Doyle Grisham on pedal steel. The third song will be a re-issue of an out-of-print track that is a fan favorite, entitled "A Kiss Is Worth 1,000 Words," with a new video that will accompany it.

“The past year has been such a wonderful, wild ride and I am excited to keep the momentum going,” said Bouchelle. “I can’t wait to perform the songs from Jump In! to a wider audience and introduce my new ones.”

Jump In!, which fused together pop and rock inspired songwriting, blended with Bouchelle’s signature Alt-Americana sound, was an instant hit among fans and critics alike. With special guests including Grammy Nominee G. Love, Mike Schmid (The Chainsmokers), Tommy Kessler (Blondie), Joel Hoekstra (Whitesnake and TSO), Hal B. Selzer (Joan Jett & The Blackhearts), Rob Hyman (The Hooters), Constantine Maroulis (American Idol), and many others, it was hailed as “An invaluable message of positivity and uplifting inspiration... that’ll get stuck in your head for days," by American Songwriter Magazine.

The album also generated 4.6 Million+ views on TikTok and made several "Top Ten of 2021" lists. The video for “Jump In!” was also added to MTVu, and streamed on college campuses across the U.S.

However, Jump In!, isn’t Bouchelle’s first foray into mainstream success. Her highly-praised 2016 EP Lipstick Tomboy garnered over two million streams on Spotify as well as several hundred thousand YouTube views.  She has sung backup for Bruce Springsteen, dueted in concert with Jon Bon Jovi, and has maintained a heavy touring schedule over the last few years, sharing the bill with some of music’s biggest names, including Blues Traveler, Train, Bryan Adams, Shooter Jennings, Jason Mraz, Colbie Caillat, Meat Loaf, Ingrid Michaelson, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Don Felder of The Eagles, and The Wailers. Her TV show, Rock Star Kitchen, continues to be seen twice weekly on The Comcast Network (a/k/a NBC Sports Philadelphia +) and is their top-rated original content show in the Philadelphia region.

On the heels of their successful Christmas Caravan Tour, Platinum-Selling Jazz Rockers Squirrel Nut Zippers (SNZ) have unveiled additional Winter dates that kick off Friday, February 3 in Asheville, NC at the Orange Peel and run through Saturday, February 11, culminating at Skippers in Tampa, FL.

Tickets are on sale now. Visit www.snzippers.com for the most up to date ticketing information.

SNZ, whose previous album titled Beasts Of Burgundy debuted at #4 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart, have released eight studio records throughout their career including their pivotal album Hot (1996). Lauded for taking their signature style of anti-establishment sound to commercial radio, Hot was the band’s sophomore album and was certified Platinum in 1997.

SNZ began their musical journey in Chapel Hill, NC, in the mid 1990s, as a musician’s escape from the cookie-cutter world of modern rock radio at the time.

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will join SNZ on two shows: the February 3 Orange Peel show in Asheville, NC and the Broward Center show in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on February 9.

The official dates for the Squirrel Nut Zippers are as follows:

*Friday, February 3       Orange Peel                 Asheville, NC

Saturday, February 4    Ramkat                        Winston-Salem, NC

Sunday, February 5      Songbirds Guitar & Pop Culture Museum  Chattanooga, TN

Monday, February 6      City Winery                   Atlanta, GA

Tuesday, February 7     Gaillard Center             Charleston, SC

*Thursday, February 9   Broward Center             Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Friday, February 10       Prohibition Kitchen        St. Augustine, FL

Saturday, February 11  Skippers                       Tampa, FL

On the heels of their successful 2022 35th Anniversary Tour, seminal six-time Platinum rockers Blues Traveler have announced a series of 2023 shows to coincide with the impending release of their Live and Acoustic: Fall of 1997 limited edition, double EP (Spring 2023). Tickets for the “Blues Traveler 2023 Tour” go on sale Friday, January 27 and can be purchased at https://bluestraveler.com/tour.

The Spring tour will kick off Tuesday, April 25 at the Fox Theatre in Hutchinson, KS and run through the end of May, culminating at the Flying Monkey on Wednesday, May 24 in Plymouth, NH. During the shows, the band will perform a bevy of songs spanning more than three decades and 14 hit albums – including the iconic four, which went six-times Platinum and spawned the definitive “Run-Around” (garnering their first Grammy® Award).

Audiences can also expect to hear the band’s Billboard-topping smash singles like “Hook” and “But Anyway,” as well as their new, jam-infused renditions of some of their favorite classic blues songs, originally recorded by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Freddie King, Big Mama Thornton, and Little Willie John.

Blues Traveler will also be promoting their forthcoming spring 2023 release of Live and Acoustic: Fall of 1997, which is a selection of highlights from the ensemble’s legendary tour 25-years-ago. The 25th-anniversary limited edition double LP will include unreleased, remastered material from the initial two-track soundboard recordings. Amongst the tracks on the upcoming drop are fan favorites and some of the band’s best-known material like “Run-Around,” “But Anyway” and “The Mountains Win Again,” interspersed with several deep cuts.

“This EXCLUSIVE limited-edition double LP is a selection of many of the highlights from our legendary 1997 fall tour that produced the only acoustic sets that the original line up of Blues Traveler, including our beloved friend and bassist, Bobby Sheehan ever played on tour,” said Guitarist Chan Kinchla. “These previously unheard and uncirculated tracks are remastered from the original 2-track soundboard recordings for the ultimate Blues Traveler live and acoustic experience.”

The tour that spawned the album came after the success of Blues Traveler’s October 1997 performance at Neil Young’s Bridge School benefit, where the band delivered two entirely acoustic shows. Inspired by the magic they created, the group integrated mini acoustic sets between their first and second electric frames during their 1997 Fall tour.

Live and Acoustic: Fall of 1997 captures moments from the band’s historic acoustic performances, with the release doubling as a 25th-anniversary celebration of the ensemble’s late-’90s live delivery. The forthcoming LP is available on limited edition colored vinyl via Experience Vinyl at experiencevinyl.com.

Platinum-Selling, Iconic Alt Band Violent Femmes has announced that they will be performing their trailblazing, self-titled, debut album from cover to cover as part of the record’s 40th anniversary tour. Kicking off at the Ventura Music Hall on Saturday, May 6 and hitting such legendary venues as the Fonda Theater in LA, Rady Shell in San Diego, CA, where they will perform with the San Diego Symphony, and Pappy + Harriet’s in Joshua Tree, CA, the tour will culminate in Denver, CO at the Levitt Pavilion on Sunday, May 21.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 3 at 10 AM local time at https://vfemmes.com/tour.

Once hailed as the “soundtrack to male puberty,” Violent Femmes’ first record amplified teenage angst and alienation in the 1980s with such songs as “Kiss Off,” “Add It Up,” and “Gone Daddy Gone,” written by Lead Vocalist and Guitarist Gordon Gano before he’d even gotten his driver’s license. The album, which was mostly autobiographical, would later prove to embody some of the most powerful anthems of a disenchanted youth that the world has ever known. And while it took 10 years to go Platinum and hit the Billboard Top 200, it has now sold three million copies worldwide and is still in rotation on today’s top rock stations, substantiating it as more than a simple battle cry for a misunderstood youth. Today, it stands as a pillar of an American underground movement, and one of the best early examples of alternative rock.

For the remainder of the ’90s, Violent Femmes continued to record new material, while their earliest songs remained in the zeitgeist, thanks to popular shows and films like “My So-Called Life,” Reality Bites, and Grosse Pointe Blank. Since that time, the band has released 10 studio albums including their most recent Hotel Last Resort (2019). Today, Violent Femmes continues to resonate with audiences of all ages. Upon the band’s 40th anniversary, Pitchfork wrote that “The Femmes don’t signify an era so much as a time of life,” adding that “for young people growing up in the internet age” their music “is part of a shared language.”

Joining Violent Femmes as support for the tour is critically-acclaimed Americana, folk rocker Jesse Ahern. Currently promoting his much-anticipated forthcoming album Roots Rock Rebel (mid-2023 on Dummy Luck Music), which was produced by Ted Hutt (Dropkick Murphys, Gaslight Anthem), Ahern is no stranger to the road. In fact, he has spent the last four years touring the world and sharing the stage with such iconic bands and artists as Dropkick Murphys, Rancid, Chuck Ragan, Frank Turner, and Jaime Wyatt. This March, he will, once again, support the Dropkick Murphys as they embark on their “St. Patrick’s Day Tour.”

The official tour dates are as follows:

Grammy® Award-winning artist Blues Traveler and Platinum-Selling rockers Big Head Todd and the Monsters will be giving audiences a one-two punch this summer as they deliver an onslaught of hits with their much-anticipated “Blue Monsters Tour 2023.” Kicking off July 6 in Vail, CO and running through August 20 in Indianapolis, IN, the tour will feature a bevy of songs spanning more than three decades, and feature a smattering of smash singles from each of the bands, as well as more obscure jams seldomly performed live.

Tickets for “Blue Monsters Tour 2023” go on sale Friday, April 14 at 10 AM local time at https://bluestraveler.com.

The “Blue Monsters Tour 2023” is not the first time that these two iconic bands have performed together. In fact, since their first appearances at the 1993 H.O.R.D.E Tour, both Blues Traveler and Big Head Todd and the Monsters have spent the past 30 years on many of the same bills. In addition to the 1994, 1997, and 2015 H.O.R.D.E. Tours, they were also part of the A-list lineups for the 2001 “Moondance Jam,” the 2002 “One World, One Heart Festival,” the 2012 “Last Summer on Earth Tour,” and the 2019 “BeachLife Festival.” Through these experiences, the groups forged a friendship that transcends both time and music.

“This summer is going to be a blast! Rocking the stage alongside our great friends, and killer band, Big Head Todd and the Monsters will be such a treat,” said Ben Wilson, Blues Traveler keyboardist. “’The Blue Monster’ is rolling your way and no stage will be left unscathed! Come on down!”

Blues Traveler, who are in the midst of their “Spring 2023 Tour” and promoting the impending release of their Live and Acoustic: Fall of 1997 limited edition, double EP, have spent more than 36 years writing and performing music that has not only resonated with fans but stood the test of the time. They currently have 14 hit studio albums to their credit, including the iconic four, which went six-times Platinum and spawned the definitive “Run-Around” (garnering their first Grammy® Award).

During the “Blue Monsters Tour 2023,” audiences can expect to hear all of the band’s hits, including their Billboard-topping smash singles like “Hook” and “But Anyway,” as well as their new, jam-infused renditions of some of their favorite classic blues songs, originally recorded by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Freddie King, Big Mama Thornton, and Little Willie John.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters, who are also no strangers to the road, recently wrapping a 2022 U.S. tour and already revealing details for their September “2023 Rhine River Cruise” following the “Blue Monsters Tour 2023” routing, have dedicated 38 years to their music career. Quietly becoming an American institution in this time, thanks to their writing, recording, and touring (totaling over 3,500 performances), and countless sold out shows in amphitheaters, on the high seas, and even beaming their tunes to outer space (literally), they have earned the endorsement of everyone from Robert Plant to The Denver Broncos, and tallied tens of millions of streams.

The group also has 12 studio albums to their credit, including the 1993 breakout Sister Sweetly. Powered by staples like “Broken Hearted Savior,” “It’s Alright,” and “Bittersweet,” the record eventually went Platinum, leading to a support slot for Plant on tour. During the “Blue Monsters Tour 2023,” fans can expect to hear these hits plus many more.

"We are beyond thrilled to be rejoining our long-time musical brethren, the mighty Blues Traveler! Summer fun never sounded so good since our H.O.R.D.E. tours,” said Todd Park Mohr, vocalist and guitarist for Big Head Todd and the Monsters.  “Looking forward to being on a stage near you!"

Upon the band’s 40th anniversary, Pitchfork wrote that “The Femmes don’t signify an era so much as a time of life,” adding that “for young people growing up in the internet age” their music “is part of a shared language.”

The David Z Foundation (DZF), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the love of music for children worldwide, will culminate its month-long fundraising initiative with a bang as it reveals plans for its DZF Sixth Annual FB Live Fundraiser. The much-anticipated livestream, which will feature a special guest appearance by Living Colour’s Corey Glover, as well as the exclusive premiere of 14 original music videos filmed with students from around the world this semester, will be held Sunday, July 9 from 5 PM – 7 PM PT via https://www.facebook.com/davidzfoundation/.

Additionally, highlights from the 2023 David Z Birthday Benefit Concert, which kicked off the fundraising campaign with appearances by the recently-reunited rockers ZO2 and four School Of Rock Schools at the Whisky A Go Go, will also be shown. During the program, viewers can donate to the non-profit, with all proceeds supporting funding for music education for underprivileged kids around the world.

DZF was founded by Paulie Z, the older brother of David Z and a fellow musician in their band ZO2. Before his untimely death, David Z and his brother were very active in their local music community, where both worked as music teachers and used their platform to spread their passion. Music is in the soul of the “Z Brothers,” and Paulie Z continues to spread this love through this foundation by teaching music classes, giving kids experience with instruments, and working with schools to create quality programs that will support the weight of a child’s creativity. Each year the foundation sets their goal according to David’s birth date so this year’s goal is $44,000 in honor of what would have been his 44th birthday.

“The focus this year was on the work we do with the students,” said Paulie Z. “In previous years, we’ve had celebrity rock stars and profession musicians participate in the event to help draw attention and donations, but now we are proud to shift gears and show people where their money is actually going.”

This year, DZF has worked with more schools in more countries than ever and has received numerous awards and grants for its work. Most recently, the organization was recognized for two videos they produced in Cape Town, South Africa in collaboration with Global Lighthouse Studios. DZF was honored by the Second Annual Anthem Awards for its “Time To Be Well” project, which was written with Athwood Primary School about sustainable health and well-being (Anthem Awards). DZF also received two Telly awards for its “Help Yourself” project written with Gardens Commercial School about the importance of staying in school (Telly Awards).

About The David Z Foundation

The David Z Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization started by singer/guitarist Paulie Z in memory of his brother and bandmate bassist David Z. Inclusive of all and serving a diverse population of underprivileged kids, our aim is to instill a passion for music in kids while providing them with engaging music education opportunities and funding, putting together collaborations between kids and veteran music industry professionals and developing programs within academic school settings as well as music schools, both across the country and internationally. We bring students into the world of music by providing deeper knowledge and experience with instruments, songwriting, recording, music video production, band dynamics and live performances, and offer kids workshops on the music industry itself. In their own schools, the programs we co-design get kids to use the crafts of songwriting, recording and video production to create work which helps explain educational concepts in creative and stylish ways. The foundation’s interest in defining new avenues for music as a helping tool has also led to the application of music in programs for kids with emotional and mental health challenges. The foundation is looking ahead to future programs that will continue a strong focus on music education and well-being through music.

The Squirrel Nut Zippers (SNZ) are bringing their joyous, raucous Holiday Caravan Tour back this season and, this year, they’re performing all of the hits from Christmas past! Kicking off November 29 at the Pace Center in Parker, CO and culminating at the Fox Tucson Theatre in Tucson, AZ on December 23, the 21-date routing will feature songs from their Christmas Caravan and Mardi Gras for Christmas albums as well as other Zippers favorites. From heartwarming ballads to boisterous dance tunes, the band conjures an atmosphere nestled somewhere between the wondrous lights of Christmas and the backroom din of a speakeasy. This show is a must-see for any true music lover.

Tickets for the Holiday Caravan Tour go on sale Friday, July 14 at www.snzippers.com.

Inspired by 1920s jazz, klezmer and vaudeville, SNZ’s endlessly curious and innovative leader Jimbo Mathus has concocted a sound truly unique and original. No other artist of his generation has embraced and synthesized eclectic influences in such a seamless, authentic manner. This unique blend is on full display with the Holiday Caravan show, which has increasingly grown in popularity, selling out venues throughout the United States.

The Platinum recording artists have sold over three million albums to-date with their watershed album, Hot (1996), making them a household name. Recorded in the heat of New Orleans, fueled by a smoldering mix of booze and a youthful hunger to unlock the secrets of old-world jazz, this pivotal release was just the beginning for the band.

Since then, SNZ has unveiled such hits as Beasts Of Burgundy (2018), which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart, and Christmas Caravan (1998), which went on to sell a quarter of a million copies and reach #12 on the Billboard Holiday Albums chart.

Their most recent record Lost Songs of Doc Souchon debuted in late 2020. It featured 10 tracks – a combination of newly-penned Zippers songs, along with a few tunes from past times – and has received acclaim from fans and critics alike.

Since reactivating in mid-2016, SNZ have been performing to packed houses across the country and around the world.  As Mathus has said since the band’s re-launch, “it’s not a reunion, it’s a revival.”

The Godfather of Psychobilly rock and roll and his unstoppable trio of raw, hillbilly talent, The Reverend Horton Heat, is, once again, spreading the gospel of good music with the release of their double CD/DVD Live in Houston and new single “Psychobilly Freakout.” Available for pre-order via Cleopatra Records Wednesday, August 16, at "Psychobilly Freakout" Single and Live In Houston CD/DVD, both were recorded during the band’s notorious live performance amidst their 2009 “Laughin' & Cryin,” tour which exemplified the stellar talent and passion that these artists have for their craft.

Heath), slap-bass superstar Jimbo Wallace, and percussionist Jonathan Jeter, have worked together to hone their uniquely country fried sound that perfectly blends traditional country with a spicy southern hillbilly swing that has cemented in music history as one of the most popular psychobilly artists of all time.

“Heat showed poise and professionalism as he sounded as good as ever in front of a metal-leaning crowd that appeared to enjoy every bass slap and Gretsch riff.”

Iconic Jazz Rockers Squirrel Nut Zippers (SNZ) have announced that they will be taking fans on a magical, musical voyage to the birthplace of Jazz as they present “Jazz from the Back O’ Town” – a four-show love letter to the prodigious New Orleans neighborhood known simply as the “Back O’ Town.”

Kicking off November 8 in Greenwich, RI at the Greenwich Odean and running through November 11 in Woodstock, NY at the legendary Levon Helm Studios, these intimate, yet devilishly-entertaining shows, will explore the late 19th Century through the Roaring 20s NOLA Jazz scene as the Zippers provide a delightful view into this mystical era with reverent, yet exciting, renditions of such seminal classics as Jelly Roll Morton’s “Animule Ball,” Louis Armstrong’s “Back O’ Town Blues,” and many others.

Tickets for the SNZ “Jazz from the Back O’ Town” shows go on sale Friday, August 18 at www.snzippers.com.

During the “Jazz from the Back O’ Town” shows, the Multi-Platinum band will also perform favorites from their own catalog, adapted and arranged to more closely echo the sounds of 1920s New Orleans. Additionally, SNZ founder Jimbo Mathus will lend his humorous, insightful musings on both the musical history of one of America’s most fascinating cities and the stories and inspirations behind many of the Zippers’ most beloved songs.

Official dates for SNZ “Jazz from the Back O’ Town” shows are as follows:

Nov. 8               Greenwich Odean                                 East Greenwich, RI

Looks like Dustin Douglas & The Electric Gentlemen (DDEG) may just make it on to Santa’s “nice list,” after all. The critically-acclaimed blues-infused rock band has taken time out of their busy schedule, supporting their latest release Black Leather Blues (April 2023, MoJo Records), to present fans with their rendition of one of their favorite holiday songs. The trio will unveil “Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You” (Billy Squier, 1981) on all DSPs at Listen/Download "Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You" on Friday, November 24 with an accompanying video that can be viewed at "Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You".

“’Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You’ by Billy Squier has always been one of my favorite Christmas tunes,” said Frontman/Lead Guitarist/Singer-Songwriter Dustin Douglas. “Something about the bluesy verses and Squier’s unmistakable voice makes me smile. I always knew someday I’d record this track.”

And that he did. However, in true fashion, the group – which is rounded out by Drummer Tommy Smallcomb and Bassist Matt “The Dane” Gabriel – didn’t simply cover the iconic holiday song. They re-invented it. Recorded at Eight Days A Week Studio in Northumberland, PA by revered Engineer/Producer and Badlees/Cellarbirds Bassist Paul Smith (Smith also played Mellotron on the track), DDEG’s version boldly boasts the band’s signature swagger, big guitars, infectious rhythms, and sexy grooves with Douglas’ distinct bluesy, vocal delivery, honoring Squiers’ original vibe … while making it their own.

To celebrate the release of “Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You,” the group is also releasing a video that Douglas describes as “fun and lighthearted” and “meant to bring a smile to everyone this holiday season and for years to come.” Filmed at Diamond City Studios in their hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA and directed by Award-Winning Cinematographer Jonathan Edwards, Douglas says the goal of the video was to have fun and show a funny side of the band with members in Santa suits and lots of snow machines to create a whimsical, winter wonderland.

“Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You” follows the release of DDEG’s successful third album Black Leather Blues. The critically-acclaimed record received rave reviews from such outlets as Rock and Blues Muse who hailed it as “a multifaceted, ten-song collection equally full of the soul of the past and the fury of the present” and Glide Magazine who described it as a “modern blues-rock with plenty of attitude and drama.”

DDEG’s 2018 release Break It Down charted on The Blues Album Charts, Blues Singles Charts and Blues-Rock Single Charts. In 2018, the band took home two Steamtown Music Awards (Scranton, PA) for both “Blues Artist Of The Year” and “Album Of The Year.” Notably, again in 2019, they found themselves with three Steamtown Nominations—"Guitarist Of The Year”, “Video Of The Year” for “Broken” and “Live Performers Of The Year”—as well as an Independent Blues Music Award nomination for “Blues/Rock Song of The Year” for “Out of My Mind.” Additionally, the Central PA Music Hall Of Fame nominated the band in 2021 and 2022 for “Blues Rock Band Of The Year.” In 2023, Douglas took home the Steamtown Music Award for “Guitarist of the Year,” once again, and The Electric Gentlemen won the People’s Choice for “Blues Artist ofthe Year”.

GRAMMY® Award-nominated, Billboard-topping, rockers The Record Company (TRC) have unveiled 2024 tour dates to support their fourth full-length release The 4th Album (Round Hill Records 2023). Kicking off January 10 at The Belly Up in Aspen, CO, the “Roll With It Tour” will crisscross the country hitting such cities as Asheville and Boston before culminating on February 2 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.

Tickets are available now at https://therecordcompany.net/tour/

During the month-long routing the trio will perform tracks from their new record like lead single, “Talk to Me,” which reached #4 at AAA radio, and fan favorites "Dance On Mondays" and "Highway Lady," as well as hits from their catalog including "Off the Ground" (#1 on the U.S. Billboard Alternative Songs Chart), “Rita Mae Young” (#12 on the Adult Alternative Songs chart), and “Baby, I’m Broken” (#6 on the Adult Alternative Songs chart).

Comprising Vocalist/Guitarist Chris Vos, Bassist Alex Stiff, and Drummer Marc Cazorla, TRC’s deep-rooted bond is evident in their music, akin to a supportive conversation among siblings. The 4th Album showcases this unparalleled bond further. "We know each other’s personalities on the instruments," explains Vos, emphasizing the trust that has been their secret weapon since their inception in 2011.

Since their breakthrough 2016 debut album Give It Back To You, which earned a GRAMMY® nomination, the band has consistently delivered chart-topping tracks and performances, including their incendiary performance at Bonnaroo which was hailed by Rolling Stone Country as “a wildly energetic show and one of the most communal experiences of the festival.” The show even garnered them a spot on Rolling Stone’s “5 Best Country and Americana Moments.” The group has since shared the stage with such notable artists as John Mayer, B.B. King, Social Distortion, Bob Seger, Blackberry Smoke and many more.

Today, more than a decade since the band formed, TRC continues to invite fans to be a part of their musical journey through their stripped back approach. "We want people to feel like they’re in the house [studio] with us, being part of this unpolished and homemade thing," said Stiff. Cazorla added, "We embrace that space as part of the raw element. That’s what we explored on this album, and it’s beautiful. We can’t wait to bring it on the road."

Seminal jam rockers Blues Traveler are kicking off their Summer 2024 Tour with a bang as they reveal that they will be celebrating their 30th Fourth of July performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO with special guests JJ Grey & Mofro and opening act Eggy. This highly-anticipated show will be followed by a series of co-headline dates featuring JJ Grey & Mofro that will start July 6 in Jackson, WY at Snow King Mountain and culminate July 13 in Seattle, WA at the Marymoor Live.

Tickets for these shows are available now at https://bluestraveler.com/tour/.

During the tour, Blues Traveler will be playing a greatest hits compilation of their Billboard-topping smash singles that span their nearly 40-year career like “Hook” (U.S. Billboard Top 100) and “But Anyway,” (U.S. Billboard Mainstream Top 40 & #5 on Adult Alternative Airplay)  as well as tracks from their latest releases Traveler’s Soul (Round Hill Records/ Black Hill Records, October 2023) and Traveler’s Blues (Round Hill Records/ Black Hill Records, 2021). Their recent albums feature their interpretations of such classic Soul, R&B, and Blues classics  originally recorded by artists like Stevie Wonder, the Impressions, The Meters, Aretha Franklin, Freddie King, Howlin’ Wolf and more, with Traveler’s Blues  earning them a Grammy nod for “Best Traditional Blues Album” as well as rave reviews and accolades.

Blues Traveler’s fiery set will be rounded out by the swampy, Southern-infused rock sounds of JJ Grey & Mofro, who will co-headline the tour. The critically-acclaimed group, who have been hailed as “rich, funky blues [that] celebrate life’s most fundamental joys,” by the New York Times, will be promoting their highly-anticipated forthcoming album Olustee, which is slated for a February 23 release.

"It ain’t the first time, and it ain’t gonna be the last! Road dogs know road dogs from afar! We can’t wait to get back out on the road with our brothers in arms and fellow road dogs Blues Traveler! Come on!,” said Grey.

Seminal Alt Rockers Violent Femmes will be giving fans a one-two punch this Spring when they perform BOTH their ground-breaking, debut, self-titled album and their sophomore release, Hallowed Ground, from cover to cover during a limited run of shows this May. This exclusive routing kicks off

May 1 in San Francisco, CA at The Warfield and culminates May 18 in Detroit, MI at the Masonic Cathedral Theatre.

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 15 at 12 PM local time at https://vfemmes.com/tour.

During these unprecedented performances, the Femmes will start the show by playing their second album, Hallowed Ground, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2024, in its entirety. Following a brief intermission, the band will retake the stage and play their debut record, Violent Femmes, from cover to cover, as well as a few fan- and band-favorites to finish the show. Serving as a sonic time capsule for the soul, these special shows will capture a pivotal moment in music as Femmes’ Lead Vocalist and Guitarist Gordon Gano wrote the songs for both albums while he was still in high school. In fact, the tracks for Hallowed Ground were penned long before the release of Violent Femmes, but the band wanted to focus on upbeat songs for the debut album and wanted to “confuse people” with the more experimental songs that ended up as Hallowed Ground.

The result was two unique releases that showcased very different sides of the Violent Femmes. Their eponymous record, once hailed as the “soundtrack to male puberty,” amplified teenage angst and alienation in the 1980s with such songs as “Kiss Off,” “Add It Up,” and “Gone Daddy Gone.” The album, which was mostly autobiographical, would later prove to embody some of the most relatable and enduring anthems of a disenchanted youth that the world has ever known. And while it took the album 10 years to go Platinum and hit the Billboard Top 200, it has now sold three million copies worldwide and is still in rotation on today’s top rock stations, cementing it as more than a simple battle cry for misunderstood adolescence. Today, it stands as a pillar of an American underground movement, and one of the best early examples of alternative rock.

Meanwhile, Hallowed Ground, which incorporated elements of country, gospel, and blues, was a surprise to many critics and fans who were expecting another collection of teen-rage punk songs. Instead, what they received was an eclectic piece of art that not only fused different genres and sounds but also ideals and imagery that only a pubescent Gano could write. Songs like the bold and bluesy "Sweet Misery Blues" and the banjo-fueled "Country Death Song" proved that the Femmes are nothing if not true to themselves, and stands as a tribute to their resilience, bravery, and unwavering indifference to the scrutiny of the industry. 40 years later, Hallowed Ground continues to mystify and excite listeners. Which was what the Femmes planned all along.

After a highly-successful run last summer, Grammy® Award-winning artist Blues Traveler and Platinum-Selling rockers Big Head Todd and the Monsters have announced that they are, once again, bringing the “Blue Monsters Tour” to venues across the country. Featuring an arsenal of songs from over three decades, including both the smash hits that defined their careers as well as rarely performed live gems, the coveted co-headline tour was hailed as one of the best of the 2023 season by critics and fans alike.

The “Blue Monsters Tour 2024” routing kicks off July 30 at MAD Amphitheater in El Dorado, AR and will hit the Midwest and East Coast before culminating August 24 at the Univest Performance Center in Quakertown, PA.

Tickets for “Blue Monsters Tour 2024” go on sale Friday, April 5 at 10 AM local time at https://bluestraveler.com.

Long-time touring partners, the two iconic bands first performed together in 1993 for the H.O.R.D.E Tour, and have spent the past 30 years on many of the same bills. In addition to the 1994, 1997, and 2015 H.O.R.D.E. Tours, they were also part of the A-list lineups for the 2001 “Moondance Jam,” the 2002 “One World, One Heart Festival,” the 2012 “Last Summer on Earth Tour,” and the 2019 “BeachLife Festival.” Through these experiences, the groups have forged a friendship that transcends both time and music.

Multi-Platinum-Selling Band Blues Traveler currently has 15 hit studio albums to their credit, including the iconic four, which went six-times Platinum and spawned the definitive “Run-Around” (garnering their first Grammy® Award), as well as Traveler’s Soul, which was released in October 2023. Traveler’s Soul was Blues Traveler’s second critically-acclaimed album of genre covers, featuring their interpretations of classic Soul and R&B hits originally recorded by artists such as Stevie Wonder, the Impressions, TLC, The Meters, Dr. John, Ann Peebles, and more. This record followed the wildly successful Traveler’s Blues release (Round Hill Records/ Black Hill Records, 2021), spotlighting the band’s renditions of songs from The American Blues Songbook and earning them a Grammy nod for “Best Traditional Blues Album.”

During the “Blue Monsters Tour 2024,” audiences can expect to hear all of Blues Traveler’s hits, including their Billboard-topping smash singles like “Hook” and “But Anyway,” as well as fan- and band-favorites from throughout their catalog.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters, have dedicated 40 years to their music career. Quietly becoming an American institution in this time– thanks to their writing, recording, and touring (totaling over 3,500 performances, countless sold out shows in amphitheaters, on the high seas, and even beaming their tunes to outer space (literally)) –they have earned the endorsement of everyone from Robert Plant to The Denver Broncos, and tallied tens of millions of streams.

The group also has 13 studio albums to their credit, including the 1993 breakout Sister Sweetly. Powered by staples like “Broken Hearted Savior,” “It’s Alright,” and “Bittersweet,” the record eventually went Platinum, leading to a support slot for Plant on tour. During the “Blue Monsters Tour 2024,” fans can expect to hear these hits plus many more.
