It's been four years since Deerhoof posted one of their free web albums. In that time they've added guitarist Ed Rodriguez to the band, released two full-length LPs, and a slew of singles, compilations appearances and remixes, topped the college music charts, formed a new band with Konono No1, curated a Belgian music festival, and racked up one accolade after another in the music press. They have also toured the world relentlessly, which brings us to this web album. Many say that to experience Deerhoof on stage is to be instantly converted to their singular style. 99% Upset Feeling is arguably the first honest attempt to document the drama and intensity of their live show into a well-recorded package. 11 songs, 33 minutes of raw Deerhoof from their Deerhoof Vs. Evil tour. And our favorite foursome is giving these front-row tickets away for free. Just go to deerhoofvsevil.com to stream or download 99% Upset Feeling.

CASH Music is a nonprofit organization that builds open source digital tools for musicians and labels. They've been hard at work doing this virtually unfunded for the past four years working with over 100 different artists, labels, and management companies on various projects built to spec. They are now building an easy to use platform featuring their more popular tools built to date including, but not limited to, download codes, email collection, paid downloads, and secure streams. The platform will be completely free and available for all AND simple enough for even the most non-technical people to install and use. This finished platform will be ready for release in mid November.

In the meantime, CASH has been doing weekly releases of the platform with new additions, documentation, and demos. For every major element added there is a demo showing how a real, working band has actually utilized the tools.  The email collection demo release shows two different ways that the code can be utilized. A Portugal. The Man microsite highlights a download of the track "When the War Ends" from their American Ghetto album in exchange for an email address using the basic email collection code. Iron & Wine's demo shows that with just a little JavaScript they could easily enable an email contest for tickets. Fans got to choose one of three shows in the Pacific NW that they were interested in receiving a guest list spot to and were entered to win in exchange for their email address.

This week's demo features Merge Records' supergroup Wild Flag showing off the tour date element, powering upcoming dates on their site and in a downloadable code demo.

CASH Music believes that the voice of the artist has, to date, mostly been missing in the tech sector of the music business. To help fix this they are building up a membership of artists, indie labels, and management companies that they are looking to for feedback, guidance, and input. Membership is free and growing every week.

In the case of psychedelic freakrock group Moon Honey, depth is the name of the game. Whether it's in the heightened lyrics—"When Edvard was sixteen, he beamed through the flap of a mask" references painter Edvard Munch as a teenager—or the restless path of the songs, Moon Honey is utilizing the psychedelic adjective to good purpose, giving us something in the veins of both Dirty Projectors and Deerhoof but with a side of Yes and Joni Mitchell.--Download "Self-Portrait Beneath Woman's Mask" on IMPOSE now!Tour Dates:nov 21 - Austin, TX - Red 7nov 22 - Laredo, TX - The Derbynov 23 - San Antonio, TX - The 1011nov 24 - El Paso, TX - LowBrow Palacenov 25 - Santa Fe, NM - The Undergroundnov 26 - Albuquerque, NM - Sister Barnov 27 - Tucson, AZ - Plushnov 29 - San Diego, CA - TBAnov 30 - Los Angeles, CA - Origami Vinyl in-storedec 01 - Los Angeles, CA - Bootleg Theatredec 02 - San Jose, CA - Cafe Stritchsdec 03 - Oakland, CA - The Night Lightdec 04 - San Francisco, CA - Hemlock Taverndec 05 - Chico, CA - Cafe Codadec 06 - Portland, OR - Kelly's Olympiandec 08 - Seattle, WA - Lo-Fidec 09 - Boise, ID - The Cruxdec 10 - Salt Lake City, UT - Shred Shed + Late Bar Showdec 11 - Denver, CO - Seventh Circle Music Collectivedec 12 - Lawrence, KS - Jackpot Music Halldec 13 - Springfield, MO - Outland Ballroomdec 14 - Fayetteville, AR - JR's Lightbulb Clubsdec 15 - Hot Springs, AR - Low Key Artsdec 16 - Dallas,TX - Three Linksdec 18 - Houston,TX - TBAdec 19 - Lafayette, LA - Blue Moondec 20 - New Orleans, LA - Gasa Gasa
