Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and producer Sam Hale releases his new EP Somewhere Between Love & War.
Comprising five tracks, Somewhere Between Love & War takes listeners on a ride through a variety of emotions and lavish sonic textures. The project, which features the highly personal single “Supernatural” and the suspenseful single “Can’t Take It,” fuses Sam’s love for rock, blues, electronic, pop, and hip-hop in a way that appeals to the heart, providing listeners with a window into his personal struggles while inviting them to experience his journey right alongside him.
“This EP, ‘Somewhere Between Love & War,’ is special to me in so many ways,” Hale explains. “It marked the beginning of a new chapter, maybe even the start of a new book. In October of 2017, I packed my bags and moved to Nashville from Los Angeles to start my new journey. Quickly thereafter, I connected with Sam Kassirer who produced Josh Ritter, David Ramirez and many other influential artists. After chatting back and forth for 5 months, we jumped in the studio and began tracking this EP.”

From the Piney Woods of East Texas, singer-songwriter Kelly Wayne Conley and his trusty sidekick, guitar prodigy Cole Humphrey, are having fun and making a splash with their indie folk-rock project Owen-Glass. In a highly saturated indie rock market, Owen-Glass stands out not only with its smart lyrics and tight harmonies, but also with its textured soundscapes and crazy multi-instrumental solos. Wild rock violin, big alto saxophone, ‘70s-style keys and electric mandolin are held together with a master rhythm section comprising Conley, David Beck and Dees Stribling. The debut album The Rope & The Rabbit defies the conventions of genre and maintains an alarming degree of stylistic cohesiveness and high levels of broad-audience listenability.
In 2017, Conley and Humphrey teamed up with Central Texas’s David Beck and Dees Stribling (Sons of Fathers, Blue Healer, David Beck’s Tejano Weekend) and called in Craig Conley (Dallas, TX), Anthony Earl (Medford, OR), and Eric Ostberg (Harrison, AR) to handle bass, drums, keys, saxophone and violin, respectively—a lineup Conley describes as “an all-star band of the very best musicians [he has] encountered over the last ten years in music.” The album was produced and engineered by David Beck, mixed by Beck, Conley and James Campbell at Cibolo Studios in San Antonio, TX, and mastered by Evan Bradford (The Avett Brothers, Dierks Bentley, Dawes) of Mixtown USA in Los Angeles, CA.
Of working with Conley, Bradford says: “I truly enjoyed working on his music and am honored to have been a part of this album. I personally find it difficult to box music into really specific genres, but I also feel that the best songs and albums don’t necessarily fit into a nice little box, and this definitely falls into that category for me. There is clearly a theme and concept that threads the whole album together, and I love how it speaks to me.”
Growing up in gospel-rich East Texas has no small influence on Conley’s writing style and harmony-driven vocal arrangements, as heard in “Devil Don’t Mind,” an Americana-Gospel folk track appearing third on the album. In studio, Conley recruited his own mother, Donna Conley, and his aunt, Stacy Caldwell of the 1980s East Texas gospel trio The Armstrong Sisters to provide backing vocals.
In all, Owen-Glass produces a mysterious and intriguing sound, providing a little something for everyone while maintaining a cohesive character and a rare and refreshing authenticity that leaves fans wanting more.

New York City-based rock band Silver Relics releases their debut album Generic.
Comprising songwriter/vocalist/guitarist Alex Sepassi and drummer Justin Alvis, the band is heavily influenced by the iconic British songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s, as well as brooding '80s rock. The result is a vibrant technicolor sound that boasts electric energy, smoldering melodies, and ultra focused writing.
Released via the label Farmadelica and produced by Howie Beno, Generic. is a thrilling collection that throbs with urgency while exploring the themes of change and transition, more specifically in regard to the band’s move from Austin, Texas to New York City. “What makes these songs different for me is how we were able to capture a snapshot of all the things that surround a life changing move in a very short period of time,” Sepassi says. “The excitement, the uncertainty, the risk, the anticipation, the massive fucking anxiety just to name a handful. I think these are experiences that a lot of people go through often and you certainly don’t have to move across the country to identify with this record. It’s very human.”
In addition to penning exhilarating music, Silver Relics also serves as a full-blown art project. Whether it’s painting, fashion, poetry, or photo and film in the live show, they are all about creating risks and opportunities to explore every option. Even the album’s cover art was painted by Sepassi himself.
Silver Relics have been performing on New York stages since 2017, drawing comparisons to the artists who have influenced them: Depeche Mode, The Cure, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Verve, and more. They will celebrate the release of Generic. with a listening party at The Scratcher in New York City on May 28 at 7PM and will soon embark on a tour through the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Billboard #1 charting reggae-rock band Roots of Creation has returned with their new music video "Casey Jones," an infectious revival of the Grateful Dead classic.
"Casey Jones" tells the tale of a locomotive engineer who became a folk hero after his death in a train crash in 1900. Filmed between the East and West Coasts, the video celebrates the 50th anniversary of the original Grateful Dead release and showcases iconic locations in NYC and Los Angeles.
"Casey Jones" features Dan Kelly of California-based reggae band Fortunate Youth and was brought to life by the production of original Bob Marley engineering legend Errol "Tuff Sound" Brown. The song is featured on Roots of Creation's "Grateful Dub: A Reggae-Infused Tribute To The Grateful Dead," which refreshes the Dead's most beloved songs for a new audience and hit #1 on Billboard's Reggae Albums chart.
Fronted by Brett Wilson, Roots of Creation has become known for their high energy live shows, packing venues all over the country, and has shared the stage with some of their legendary influences, including Slightly Stoopid, The Wailers, and Michael Franti.
